* NonStandardCharacterDesign - Hinagiku was actually drawn like this in the earlier chapters and parts of it lasted as long as the Greece Arc. It's especially noticeable in her introductory chapter where she was drawn in a much more...flowery style that is heavily reminiscent of Utena, which seems to be one of Hata-sensei's inspirations for her character and some elements of the plot. Her eyes and hair especially were different at first, but as the art style for the series has become more of a combination of PuniPlush and NoodlePeople her design has become more-or-less the same as everyone else's unless she's being focused on.

* LemonyNarrator - The narrator frequently argues with the characters, snarks at the plot, and was once accused of murder by Nagi. And he has the voice of NorioWakamoto. He even seems to develop as a character, starting out with mere sarcasm and eventually developing an utter disdain for the show's cast. In one episode, when the gang takes a cruise and Nagi complains that the Titanic-sized ship is too small, he says, "God, I hate rich people. I hate them so much." It gets better in the Animax dub where he has a British accent and sounds like Creator/TomBaker!

* JapaneseHonorifics – Hayate uses the -san title for everyone, in keeping with their high-class standing, except Nagi and Sakuya, who he calls 'Oujo-sama'. Nagi is his master, but there seems to be no forthcoming explanation for why Sakuya is included. He has also at least once called Nagi ‘Nagi-sama’.
** Hayate seems to be rather fickle with Nishizawa though; sometimes he will use ‘Nishizawa-san’ or sometimes not use any honorific at all.
** He also gave Athena the nickname 'A-tan' when they were children, and still calls her that.
*** Hinagiku once commented on this when he refers to Athena as this after and notes that it is odd given the circumstances. He then suggested that he could start calling her Hina-tan, to which she instantly gave a deadpan 'I absolutely refuse'.
** There's also Isumi who uses Hayate-sama which at one point enabled Hayate to figure out Isumi's involvement and mission in a certain matter solely because only she ever calls him that.

** While Hinagiku's fear of this is lessened later in the manga we get more evidence that it is completely unfounded; while on a trip to a haunted island at night (long story) Hinagiku's fear of ghosts kicks in and Hayate tells her that he finds her feminine side cute (fear of ghosts being traditionally a feminine trait in Japan) but it's when Hina snaps into action and acts like her normal, confident self that Hayate gives her a genuine smile and expresses his admiration.

* MasterSwordsman - * Hinagiku Katsura given that she is also the KendoTeamCaptain in addition to being the StudentCouncilPresident and has proven to have far greater skill than the rest of the club put together. She has acquired two magical swords so far. The first is Wooden Masamune which lets her cut ghosts and brings out its wielder's maximum potential, and seems to be semi-sentient as it is very fond of her, either for wielding it so well in battle or because everyone is fond of Hinagiku. The second is Shirosakura which seems to be made out of crystal and she's been shown easily slicing through boulders with it and it seems like it may be able to kill ghosts as well...and let's her fly (which she's used only once due to her intense fear of heights. Notably, she is able to pull these swords seemingly from nowhere, though we did get a humorous short of Isumi lamenting that Wooden Masamune keeps disappearing, shown to be from answering Hinagiku's call for it whenever she finds monsters and ghosts in need of a beat-down.

** Athena may count as this due to being the one who taught Hayate. She certainly had skill in the End of the World Flashback arc but hasn't done much fighting in the present.

** While he claimed otherwise early on in the series, Hayate himself is about on-par with Hinagiku. In a duel with Kotetsu, Hayate nearly killed him with the incredible speed and power of his strikes and in Greece he was able to one-shot a 12 foot tall Minotaur with little effort using only a decorative sword from a nearby suit of armor. Borrowing Wooden Masamune he could even deflect the StormOfBlades from the Greece Arc's BigBad and defeat it without taking much more damage than he already had.
