*** It is also not entirely unheard of for a blind person to simply walk to the nearest shops if they live close enough. The series simply followed one of those.

*** Initially, maybe, but seeing eye dogs are not robots, and they can ignore their training perfectly well if they really want to, as any person with such a dog can tell you.

* FridgeBrilliance: You can place the time people disappeared in the past and still have all the natural disasters happen! For instance if we have people all die/disappear in 2002, you can look at all the large natural disasters happen and never be cleaned up. So just in the 2002 to 2012 timespan...
** ''Every single natural disaster still happened and was never cleaned up'':
** The coastlines of the Indian Ocean are still piled with wreckage from the 2004 Tsunami.
** New Orleans is still swamped from Katrina in 2005 and will ever be.
** Haiti is still in ruins from the 2010 earthquake, as is Chile from its massive earthquake the same year.
** Japan never got cleaned up from the 2011 Tsunami. The reactors got hit the same way they did, but probably had already gone critical years ago, running unattended from 2002.
** The rare earthquake on the East Coast of the U.S. in 2011 left damage that will never be repaired. The Washington Monument for example will eventually collapse due to cracks.
** As for your own home, every bad storm that left your yard littered with sticks or ripped off your eves trough or window shutters, knocked over a tree in your yard - it's all still there.
