* CloningBlues: [=Cha-ChaMari=], a minion seemingly aligned with every higher-up member of Gingaku, turns out to be a mass-produced drone

* DragonAscendant: [=Cha-ChaMari=] tries invoking this [[spoiler: when Gingaku dies]]. No-one takes her seriously though and she dies shortly after.

* NobleDemon: Cruelly Subverted With Spectrum. At first, [[TheStarscream he appears to be working to dismantle Gingaku’s control of the universe from within]]. But then he reveals that [[NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist he doesn’t want to free the universe]], [[VisionaryVillain he wants to rule it himself.]]

* OutOfFocus: Cobras, until it comes time to handle the Hebitsukai Metal arc.

* BigGood: [[spoiler: Once he returns to life, [[PhysicalGod Astral Leo]] serves this role]].

* ByThePowerOfGrayskull: To transform, the Rangers call out “Cosmic Energy, Unleash!”, with Yuri using the signature “It’s Morphing Time!” as a rallying cry.

* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: Yuri is the only Ranger to have a Cosmo Sphere representing a system other than his own, plus [[spoiler: He’s possessed by the BigGood of the series, giving him greater powers than the rest]].
** However, this is slightly downplayed, as the first to receive any power-ups and the one to bring the team together are Myron and Mila respectively.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: Zigzagged. While Gingaku members are implanted with a growth implant that revives them as a giant, only the higher-ups are allowed this privilege. Others have to rely on HumongousMecha known as Gearoids.

* SuperMode: Yuri gets several enhanced modes, two of which can be used by the others:
** The Pegasus-33 Cosmo Sphere summons Pegasus, who acts as a chestplate and can fight by controlling the host’s body.
** The Sun/Moon Dual Sphere can be used in either Sun or Moon mode. Both forms also power up a second Ranger, with the Sun giving Scales and Cobras a bunch of extra energy while the Moon strengthens Jiro, making him more poised and controlled.
** [[spoiler: The Big Bang-315 Cosmo Sphere turns him into the Big Bang Ranger, changing his suit [[KnightInShiningArmor completely white]] and giving him access to [[AllYourPowersCombined all of his team's weapons]].]]
*** Myron and Barry are introduced with their own super modes, known as Double Sting and Jumbo forms respectively.
*** [[spoiler: Cobras obtains his Void Mode shortly before Yuri gets Big Bang, though it starts as a SuperpoweredEvilSide.]]

* AdaptationalBadass: Whereas Kukuruga fell to the Orion Big Bang Cannon and had to be rebuilt, Coiloga survives the equivalent here.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Dark Soul is a pure-blooded villain, while his Sentai counterpart Aslan was merely BrainwashedAndCrazy.
** Dr. Cerebron also doesn’t have the redeeming qualities of Dr. Anton, being a major part of Gingaku’s operations long before the series started.

* AscendedExtra: Dark Soul, Cerebron and Spectrum appear much more frequently and earlier than their Sentai counterparts Aslan, Dr. Anton and Scorpio.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Commander Goodman manages to deal significant damage to [[spoiler: Cobras in his brainwashed state]], after the regular Rangers were unable to touch him for two chapters. [[spoiler: Too bad he can still use Cosmo Spheres to fight back.]]
* AuthorityInNameOnly: Commander Drago was merely given the title of “Commander” by Mila, to help sell the cause to others.

* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler: Kota is revived by Dark Soul in chapter 35]].

* BondOneLiner: [[{{Pun}} “This Space is ours.”]]

* ChekhovMIA: Pegasus’ debut has him mentioning Astral Leo, the one who chose the Rangers and created the Cosmo Spheres. [[spoiler: He ultimately turns out to be [[SharingABody living inside Yuri]] several chapters later.]]

* ChekhovsGunman: The unseen scientist working with [[TheDragon Dark Soul]] turns out to be Dr. Cerebron, Tarrant’s inventor and Myron’s former boss.
** The mysterious Spectrum introduced a chapter later [[spoiler: turns out to be Myron’s brother Heath]].

* ContinuityNod: Yuri woke up following the invasion on [[Series/PowerRangersNinjaSteel the Lion Galaxy]].

** Dark Soul is a straighter example.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Gingaku’s dragon Dark Soul condemns Yuri to death, despite the fact that as far as he knows, all he’s done is try and fail to help a thief escape. Sounds like DisproportionateRetribution, right? [[spoiler: Turns out he has other reasons for wanting him dead]].

* MeaningfulName: Yuri is named for Yuri Gargarin, the first man in space.

* MythologyGag: The planet at the centre of the Lion Galaxy is named [[WebVideo/PowerRangersHyperforce Kaien]], which in itself, was a roundabout homage to Kyuranger.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Cobras’ OutOfFocus status and the other Rangers not giving him any reassurance over his role as the ButtMonkey leads to him siding with Tricerodo [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe once she gives him some positive reinforcement]].

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: Metaro’s actions in the early chapters cause a chain of events that lead to the Rangers being fully assembled with twelve members.

* NighInvulnerability: The 3 Victorious Generals take a lot more punishment than the standard Tokusatsu main villains and manage to shrug it off.
** NotSoInvincibleAfterAll: Which makes the Rangers’ defeats of Katseayor and Coiloga all the more satisfying.

* NotSoStoic: Winda spends the first 4 chapters being a fairly generic android. But once she becomes a Ranger, she starts screaming with joy.

* PaperThinDisguise: Chapter 19 has Mila and Scales using a Cosmo Sphere to disguise themselves as pretty women to distract the guards to a door. Neither of said guards question this.

* ShoutOut: The Cosmo Spheres get their name and theme naming from Series/ChouseiKantaiSazerX ‘s Cosmo Capsules.

** Cobras was named for the villain of Film/ThePumaman.
* ShoutOutThemeNaming: Gingaku’s higher ups are mostly named for Sengoku-era figures.
** Myron and his brother Heath/Spectrum are one to Anime/BakuganBattleBrawlers.

** Black uses the [[AnAxeToGrind Cosmo Axe]]

* VillainWorld: UpToEleven, as Gingaku rules the whole universe.

** Yellow uses the [[KnifeNut Cosmo Dagger]]

** Cobras was named for the villain of Film/PumaMan.

* Tarrant/Black Ranger: A [[TheBigGuy bulky robot, resembling a bull]]. Originally built as a weapon of destruction by [[MadScientist Dr. Cerebron]], he was allowed to go free when Myron (who was the doctor’s assistant) realised he had a soul. But [[PoorCommunicationKills due to a misunderstanding]], Tarrant initially wants to [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished kill Myron for burning his creator to death]]. Chosen by the [[ALoadOfBull Bull-05 Cosmo Sphere]].

* {{Expy}}: Proton is a SixthRanger who also wears red and is NotSoDifferent to the main red. He’s basically [[Series/PowerRangersTimeForce Eric]], if he was less of a jerk.

* Cobras/Silver Ranger: A HumanAlien, The LastOfHisKind following the destruction of his planet by Gingaku. Takes his duty protecting other planets from Gingaku seriously, [[spoiler: to the point of briefly tuning against the other Rangers when it seems like they allowed a planet to be destroyed]]. Chosen by the [[SnakeCharmer Serpent-06]] Cosmo Sphere.

** This fic features the villains having already achieved total control of the universe, as opposed to merely seeking it. Thus, the Rangers are trying to liberate The universe rather than protect it.

* ClimacticBattleResurrection: [[spoiler: In the finale, the contestant abuse of the Anima Core causes several defeated opponents to reappear as a minor obstacle.]]

* Drago/Dragon Ranger: EccentricMentor. [[EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep Everyone calls him “Commander”]], [[AuthorityInNameOnly even though he possesses no such rank]]. Chosen by the [[InstantAwesomeJustAddDragons Dragon-10]] Cosmo Sphere.
