** During the climax of ''Frozen'', a lot of the FridgeLogic behind Han's plan to take over Arendelle get addressed by General Fleischer.
*** Fleischer refused to allow Elsa's execution, as she was still technically the sovereign ruler of Arendelle and any execution would need a trial beforehand.
*** He also dismissed Hans' claim of marrying Anna, pointing out that any marriage is legally invalid without witnesses.
*** Finally, it’s revealed that Arendelle, being based off a 19th-century European country, has a parliament that runs the kingdom’s day-to-day affairs. One that would not take kindly to some foreign prince trying to seize power.
** At the end of ''How To Train Your Dragon 2'', Drago was last seen fleeing underwater on his Bewilderbeast. In the story proper, it turns out that Drago drowned due to being unable to swim with only a single arm.
** Even though Hiccup and Toothless defeated Drago, his army still attacked the Archipelago.
** [[spoiler: After conquering the city of Radvo, Snotlout proceeds to make his demands in front of a large crowd. These demands include a large sum of money. However, that particular demand is met with confusion. It turns out the Vikings, having spent centuries isolated from most of the world, have a completely different system of currency.]]
** Having spent generations isolated from the rest of the world, the Vikings have trouble communicating due to the language barrier. Even with Eret acting as translator, he himself points out that he isn't a fluent speaker of every single language.
** At one point during the UNK's campaign in Mathantir, it's mentioned that Camicazi had discovered Viggo’s location and tried to capture him. Given that Camicazi had never met Viggo, she had no idea what he looked like, resulting in Viggo easily escaping.

Meanwhile, in Arendelle, Elsa's world is turned upside down when she learns of the Vikings' return. Fearful for her loved ones, Elsa scrambles to ready Arendelle for the first war it's seen in centuries.

* AwesomeButImpractical: Hiccup's Siegebreakers, which border on CoolButInefficient. Siegebreakers are basically cannons using Zippleback gas as a gunpowder substitute. They were designed to be used when dragons weren’t available and are a gamechanger in a world where gunpowder was never discovered. Unfortunately, they suffer from several major drawbacks. First off, they are very costly to produce. The amount of metal used to create just six alone was equivalent to that of several hundred axes, swords, and shields. In addition, they are extremely heavy, requiring a total of ''eight'' dragons to move both the cannons and their ammunition. The fact that dragons are even needed for transporting the weapons defeats their purpose of being used for when dragons are unavailable. And with eight dragons, one might as well not have the Siegebreakers at all. This is even acknowledged in-universe, with many characters pointing out that using dragons would be much more simple, practical, and less time-consuming.

* HoldingBackThePhlebotinum: Snotlout is unable to use any dragons during the UNK's invasion of Radvo, due to Hiccup's belief that TheWorldIsNotReady for dragons yet.

* FlauntingYourFleets: The UNK’s fleet, nicknamed “the forest”, stationed around Berk is described as being so large that planks are used to connect various ships.

* TheWorldIsNotReady: Because of people like Drago, Hiccup decides to keep the dragons a secret under the belief that the rest of the world would be no better.

** Hiccup’s Mathantiran campaign in general. All the castles are taken in a matter of days and it’s estimated that the UNK will full control of Mathantir in only a few months.

* SickEpisode: Chapter 9 features Elsa getting a cold after Anna’s birthday party.

* ChekhovsGun: The nation of Avalon gets briefly mentioned in early chapters. Later, Avalon becomes relevant for both Arendelle and the UNK. Acting as a {{Continuation}} of ''WesternAnimation/HowToTrainYourDragon2'' and ''Frozen'', the fanfic deals with the aftermath of Drago's defeat on Berk. The ensuing battle with the rest of Drago's army leads to a bloody war which results in the Viking tribes uniting into a kingdom with Hiccup as their king. The story centers around Hiccup as he expands his new kingdom into a major power while struggling to cope with Astrid's death.

Meanwhile, in Arendelle, life seems good for Elsa. She's finally learned to control her powers, her subjects have accepted her, and she's reconciled with her sister Anna. Things change when she learns of the Vikings apparent return and Elsa scrambles to protect her loved ones while readying Arendelle for war.

** Plot A is a dramatic [[DarkFic Dark]]/WarFic focusing on Hiccup as he establishes the United Norse Kingdom and defeats the remnants of the Northern Alliance. The storyline also focuses on Hiccup's inner struggles caused by the deaths of Astrid and his father. He's currently in Mathantir, dealing with the few remaining Northern Alliance holdouts.
