Like ''Amphibia'', the story is set in three acts. Act 1 contains the first 20 chapter. Act 2 (currently ongoing) began with Chapter 21 and will end with Chapter 40.

** [[spoiler:Unable to put together the Toad rebellion, Grime turns himself in to Newtopian authorities so Sasha won't be punished; the news causes her to re-declare her hatred for the Plantars and run through a portal Andrias opens, forcing Anne to follow her. The Plantars leave Newtopia Castle after saying goodbye to Anne, and Andrias seems to betray Marcy soon after.]]

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: No one in the Demon Realm knew what happened to Luz, which makes all her friends believe Belos somehow tricked her into going back to the Human Realm until she returns. Her return to the Demon Realm means that her friends in Amphibia are now left wondering what happened to her ([[spoiler:at least until Valeriana informs them]]). [[spoiler:Not to mention her mother has no idea the girl currently living with her is a shapeshifting demon impersonating her.]]

* DoesNotLikeShoes: PlayedWith. [[spoiler:The day after the Brawl, Amity goes to check up on Luz barefoot. The reason why was she had just showered and changed clothes before immediately rushing over to the Owl House after Owlbert came to get her, leaving before she could put her shoes on.]]

** Later on after seeing the way King Andrias looked at her for the first time, Luz becomes convinced that she shouldn't trust him because he reminds her of Belos. [[spoiler:This ends up being for good reason, as Andrias and the Core see her as a potential threat after learning she's been to the Source.]]

** [[spoiler:Anne's issues with Hop Pop are omitted from the trip to The First Temple.]]
** During Anne's fight with Valeriana, the latter leaves out her day out with Polly, and snoring.

* BridalCarry: In her overexcitement from General Yunan taking her to see Anne, Marcy falls off of Joe Sparrow in midair causing Anne to catch her in her arms. She holds Marcy this way for a few more seconds before putting her down.

** [[spoiler:When Luz explains her adventure in Amphibia to her friends in the Demon Realm, it's revealed that she doesn't remember being possessed by the wolf spirit and speaking with the Titan's spirit.]] This is quickly subverted after [[spoiler:she's told she has two hearts now.]] However, [[spoiler:she hasn't remembered them telling her about the other 2 humans before who who came to the Demon Realm yet.]]

* JumpedAtTheCall: [[spoiler:After Luz admits she joined the rebellion, Amity immediately decides to join as well, proving how serious she is about being by Luz's side for whatever she faces.]]

* MythologyGag: Chapter 29 has two references to ''Creator/{{Moringmark}}''. First, Amity mentions first developing her magic [[https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/qbc57a/moringmark_little_amity/ while Emira was babysitting her as kids]]. The second is how [[https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/rm6o3d/teamwork/ Luz creates lightning bolts]] [[spoiler:on her hands when creating a light spell with her natural magic]].

** Since Lilith was petrified and thus, [[spoiler:didn't travel back in time with Luz and break Philip's nose, Belos no longer has his scar. Plus, he found the light glyph and the Collector's mirror on his own, so Luz is pretty much expendable now.]]

* HistoryRepeats: Just like on her first day in the Boiling Isles, Luz ends up breaking Katya out of the Conformatorium [[spoiler:as she, Amity, and Boscha's mother Alsa try to [[GreatEscape rescue all the captured members of the resistance out]], which leads to them freeing the Bards Against the Throne in the process.]]

** [[spoiler:Skara]] joins the rebellion not just out of boredom, but because she's sick of her ostentatious lifestyle provided by her parents who are never around, making her want to do something for those less fortunate than her.
* IfOnlyYouKnew: [[spoiler:Chapter 28 has Luz briefly theorize that Belos was once human and lived for hundreds of years. She brushes it off, but we know she's not wrong.]]

* PlotHole: Some events that occur in Season 2 of ''The Owl House'' that heavily rely on Luz's presence in the Boiling Isles haven't been brought up.
** "Elsewhere and Elsewhen" revealed [[spoiler:Luz showed the light glyph to Emperor Belos when he was Philip Wittebane in the past and that Lilith gave the man the scar that caused the rotting band on his head. Luz's disappearance and Lilith being petrified should have changed the timeline so Belos doesn't have the latter or access to the former, but there's no indication that it did.]]

* AscendedExtra: Maddie becomes a much more prominent character as she bonds with Luz over her use of magic and travels with her to Newtopia to find a way to travel between worlds.

** As the author points out in the comments of chapter 33, Luz's sudden reappearance right after Willow's flyer derby match leads to Hunter being willing to imprison her and turn her in. This in turn ends up straining Willow's opinion of him and torpedoing any chance at Hunter/Willow being a canon ship in the fic, with Willow being romantically paired with [[spoiler:Skara]] instead.

* HiddenDepths: Principal Bump's family are skilled jewelers and he retained the skills despite not taking over his family's business.

** As the author points out in the comments of chapter 33, Luz's sudden reappearance right after Willow's flyer derby match leads to Hunter being willing to imprison her and turn her in. This in turns ends up straining Willow's opinion of him and torpedoing any chance at Hunter/Willow being a canon ship in the fic with Willow being romantically paired with Skara instead.

* ShipTease: It becomes clear that [[spoiler:Anne and Marcy]] have feelings for each other; they both missed one another after being apart for so long with [[spoiler:Anne refusing to hate Marcy for intentionally stranding them in Amphibia, and Marcy calling Anne the most important person in her life.]]

In the middle of [[Recap/TheOwlHouseS1E19YoungBloodOldSouls Luz's fight against Belos]], she's pulled by an unknown force into the world of Amphibia, right in time for [[Recap/AmphibiaS1E39Reunion the reunion between Anne and Sasha]].

** In "Chapter 25: The First of Many?", Amity realizes [[spoiler:Emira is dating Viney]], which also causes [[spoiler:Edric]] (who's in the room) to learn it for himself. She proceeds to tell [[spoiler:the twins]] about everything involving Luz's return.

* NamedByTheAdaptation: The pufferfish student and the ram-horned girl from the abomination track are known as Eric and Miranda, respectively.
