* FixFic: Subverted. Magical Girls now have an Incubator that isn't trying to screw them over, but there are still witches around, more powerful/deadly than before, and the other Incubator [[CompleteMonster makes Kyubey look nice in comparison]].

** Thought [=KyuBey=] was an [[CompleteMonster unethical monstrosity that should-not-be?]] Meet [=TorBey=] and his[their] master, who makes the former contender for "biggest Jackass in Anime" look completely ethical in comparison, downright planning [[spoiler:on harvesting every soul on the planet as energy by turning them directly into Witches]].

* FridgeBrilliance: Why is Sayaka a lesbian? So that she can't have her heart broken by Kyousuke, of course! Same thing with [[spoiler:Mami and Kazuko]], so that the former doesn't feel alone.
** Why is Homura BroughtDownToNormal? So that she doesn't get herself killed by trying to protect Madoka. [[InHarmsWay It]] [[BadassNormal doesn't]] [[{{Determinator}} work]].
** Why is the general population in the know? So that Veneficus Puella can find support in others.
** Why is the world still [[CrapsackWorld royally fucked up?]] She wished for a world where her friends could survive. [[ExactWords "Survive" does not mean "live painless, happy lives"]].
*** The world is still royally fucked up for the same reason [[spoiler: that it is still royally fucked up at the end of the actual series. Much of world history has apparently been driven by the Incubators in the form of the Magical Girls system. Kyubey even theorizes that we'd have never made it out of the stone age without the strife brought on by Magical Girls and Witches. You can only change the system so much without rendering the world unrecognizable.]]
** Sayaka's magical girl costume has received a noticeable change: She's wearing a suit of armor. Now look at the description of Madoka's magical girl costume: Almost entirely black, with a long detached skirt.
