The goddesses had the feeling this would happen, and thus engineered a way to get past the Master Sword's [[OnlyTheChosenMayWield One Hero Limit]] and have its power shared between two wielders, via three rings called the [[TitleDrop Rings of Dualty]]. The basic way it works is simple: Whichever one wears the most Rings at the time has the Master Sword while some of the sword's power is granted to the other one. Of course, [[OnlyTheChosenMayWield only the chosen may wield them]], and they're scattered about the land, [[BalefulPolymorph punishing]] anyone unfit who tries wearing one.

* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Subverted. Most lizalfos, the kind encountered in the games, are nomadic and play the trope fairly straight. However, the ones living in the village of Jgk'hry still have a bit of bloodlust, but they're not total jerks.
** Ko, Ybir, and Vardi completely avert it.
** Kargaro, the chief of Jgk'hry, plays it [[CompleteMonster pretty straight]][[spoiler:...at least until he's cured of whatever [[BrainwashedAndCrazy evil influence]] was plaguing him; after that, he turns back into a benevolent, responsible, wise leader who helps Link and Samba on their quest]].

When circumstances lead to Link getting one Ring, he decides to collect the others to keep them out of the wrong hands, and so goes to Hyrule Castle where he learns another lies. At the same time, a [[OriginalCharacter new character]], the blue lizalfos, Samba, obtains another Ring, and goes off to the castle to get it, too...though for somewhat different reasons. They end up getting to the third Ring at the same time and, after [[InfoDump some exposition]], set off on a quest to stop this evil threatening Hyrule as the chosen Knights of Dualty. They must gather eight [[MacGuffin MacGuffins]], which of course are held by eight powerful bosses, which of course reside in eight big dungeons (after two smaller ones to get the Rings). The MacGuffin theme this time is rather unique, however--tools representing the different kinds of materials that people use.

* ThatOneLevel: From a meta standpoint, [[EternalEngine Clamor Plant]]; it's the longest and most complicated dungeon thus far, spanning six long chapters due partly to the immense amount of detail in the dungeon. The fact it also includes a variation on the EscortMission that involves keeping with and properly building [[spoiler:the Boss Key]] as it travels throughout the factory doesn't help matters. [[WordOfGod As FerreTrip says]] in the author note of the first chapter, "[[InfoDump this]], kids, is probably why you've yet to see a ton of Zelda dungeons that are supposed to believably function as true structures."
