* Lanipator of Creator/TeamFourStar admitted that part of the reason for cancelling ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged''[='s=] version of ''Anime/BojackUnbound'' was partly because of general burnout, having done the series for over 11 years. * Kyle Kallgren of ''WebVideo/BrowsHeldHigh'' has always been very open about his ongoing struggles with clinical depression, but his work ''really'' started to highlight it around 2017 or so. Kyle has always been open and unapologetic about his disdain for former US President UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump, and he made it quite clear that Trump's Presidency was an emotionally difficult time for him, which often made it difficult for him to make video essays. This became pretty evident in his video essays on ''Film/TheColorOfPomegranates'' and ''WesternAnimation/GnomeoAndJuliet''; in both videos, he outright gives up on trying to say anything meaningful about the films, admitting that he just doesn't have the energy or the emotional willpower. The third part of his video on ''Film/StarshipTroopers'' similarly features a lengthy rant about online harassment that he's received over the course of his career, and even includes screenshots of abusive comments that he's gotten on social media.

* ''WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice'' went on indefinite hiatus due to a combination of this and being ScrewedByTheLawyers: When Games Workshop rolled out their new zero-tolerance policies on fan works, many of the creators, Bruva Alfabusa included, felt that it was inevitable that GW would serve them a Cease & Desist letter due to the show's nature of satiring the ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40k'' grimdark universe. While the work was [[DoingItForTheArt a passion project]] of his, personal matters, including expecting a child soon, meant that he could not legally afford to keep TTS going and risk Games Workshop possibly bringing civil charges against him. Several other members of the TTS team expressed the same, and while no one outright stated it was a definitive end for the series, it has been admitted it would be ''very'' hard to start back up again from hiatus. The entire experience has left Bruva, in his own words, "a meatball of despair."

* ''VideoGame/{{ROBLOX}}'' [=YouTuber=] greenlegocats become notorious around 2019 for calling for the ban certain UGC items, which the ''ROBLOX'' community took it as being against the concept of UGC, resulting in him getting massive amounts of flak for this, especially when said items were removed, further increasing the anger against him to the point where during the time where his account was banned for the second time, some user actually ''celebrated'' that he was gone. * Nathaniel Bandy underwent one in 2016, which had a serious impact on his countdown videos, in which he now refers to this timeframe as the, "Dark Top Ten Age of 2016". Nathaniel was going through financial troubles in trying to keep the rent on his apartment, and as this was around the time of the Adpocalypse, ad revenue wasn't cutting it for him. He had to resort to striking up deals with advertisers to make extra cash, but as a result of this, he had to pump out at least one video every week, causing him to rush almost every countdown he made throughout the year. Rather than sticking to his usual informative, yet witty form of narration, he opted for [[SelfDeprecation self-deprecating]] parody that felt practically unlike any video he had made prior, on top of either being misinformed or deliberately skewing information to get his videos out quicker.
