** Originally auditioned to be a ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' cast member for the 2008‒09 season (around the time that her ''Parks'' castmate-to-be Creator/AmyPoehler was due to leave and Creator/LorneMichaels hired two new female cast members [Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins] instead of John Roberts, T.J. Miller, Nick Kroll, and Plaza herself). (Had she been chosen, she would have been the first Hispanic female ''SNL'' cast member.[[note]]A Hispanic female cast member wouldn't come around until season 39 with Noel Wells, who is part Mexican, but most viewers didn't notice because most were distracted by the fact that ''SNL'' hired too many white people and complained that the show needed a black female cast member. As of season 40, Wells has been fired from the show while the black female cast member they hired -- Sasheer Zamata [along with writer Leslie Jones] -- stayed.[[/note])

Aubrey Plaza is an American actress and comedian who has gained popularity for her persona as a DeadpanSnarker and EmotionlessGirl. She has been something of a breakout star on ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'' for her role as intern (and eventually permanent assistant) April Ludgate. She actually was an intern for a post-it note factory and an Creator/{{NBC}} page before becoming an actress. Her role in ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'' was actually made for her as the show's casting director reportedly told a producer, "I just met the weirdest girl I've ever met in my life. You have to meet her and put her on your show."

She has had small film roles in ''FunnyPeople'' and ''Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld'', and in 2012 she had her first starring roles in the teen SexComedy ''Film/TheToDoList'' and the time-travel drama ''Film/SafetyNotGuaranteed''. As well as acting, Plaza performs improv and stand up comedy.

* WhenSheSmiles: A side-effect of her usual EmotionlessGirl and DeadpanSnarker attitude makes her smile stand out more than it does for actresses with bubbly personas.
