* ''Anime/BlueSeed'':

** Machio, the gym's main trainer, routinely rips his track suit off just by flexing his muscles. He is a normal-sized person in said track suit, but when it comes off, he's a massive slab of musculature, and one has to wonder how much he spends on them.
** Hibiki also has a tendency to have her clothes rip apart when training hard, such s when she rips her shorts while exercising on the leg machine, and tears her shirt with her exertion during the arm-wrestling tournament. It doesn't happen nearly as often as it does with Machio, however.

* ''Manga/DragonHalf''. Apparently, the only thing strong enough to stop the BigBad's son's LaserBlade just happens to be the Heroine's BoobsOfSteel. Said weapon is tough enough to cut through stone pillars, ''even parts of the audience'', but yet when the heroine gets hit with it, all it does is cut her bra off.

* Szayelaporro loses most of his outfit to Uryu's Sprenger, and puts the fight on hold so he can get new clothes. Ironically, he later resumes the fight by entering his [[OneWingedAngel Resurreccion]], which gives him a different outfit anyway.

** Then there's Takane, who gets hit with this so often that the other characters (who are used to living in a universe where this happens on a daily basis) call her "the stripper" and she begins getting StockholmSyndrome about it. Her main problem is the fact that most of her outfits are akin to armor made of magic, and so don't actually exist. If she loses consciousness, her spells deactivate, and with them goes her clothes. For some reason she never thinks to wear something underneath.

* ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'' gets one. In episode 3, Shizuo [[PunchedAcrossTheRoom punches a thug so hard]] his clothes fly off from him!

Also during her battle with Flare Corona during the Grand Magic Games, where the only effect that Flare's flaming hair attack has on her is burning through her boots.

** Nonon gets this even before getting hit by Ryuko's finishing move which ends up [[BareYourMidriff showing her navel]] and most of her body.

** Played with in the case of Raoh, who normally removes his cape and helmet when fighting opponents on foot. That being said, he might lose a shoulder pauldron if his opponent is strong enough to fight him on ''slightly'' better terms than normal, and his shirt also gets the chop during his final battle with Kenshiro.

** Never mind Ed, Major Armstrong parodies this trope to hilarious effect. He will rip off his shirt at the drop of a hat — in order to show determination, moral conviction, or even sympathy and sadness. It seems to be how he deals with almost any situation. He even uses it when deciding his friendship with Sig Curtis. One scene in [[Anime/FullmetalAlchemist the 2003 anime version]] had him punch an incoming stone fist so hard that his shirt ''explodes'', revealing his almost hilariously buff figure.

* A male example in ''LightNovel/BakaAndTestSummonTheBeasts'': [[DudeLooksLikeALady Hideyoshi]] suffers {{Stripperiffic}} Clothing Damage in episode five, complete with BishieSparkle and [[HoYay Yoshii]] [[LuminescentBlush blushing]].

* All the time in ''LightNovel/CatPlanetCuties'', primarily due to the fact that the Catians are {{Actual Pacifist}}s so all their weaponry is designed to destroy non-living matter without harming any living tissue, so most fights end up with the bad guys naked and embarrassed but unharmed. Two of the main characters even have a duel of "last one with clothing left wins."

* In ''Anime/{{Maburaho}}'' a summoned monster manages to claw through [[MsFanservice Kuriko's]] shirt and bra, without so much as scratching her skin.

* ''LightNovel/RailWars''. Haruka suffers a tear in her school uniform in episode 6, and also gradually sheds her clothing throughout the episode due to running away with Naoto from a possible threat on his life.

* In one of the first battles of the ''LightNovel/TheSacredBlacksmith'' anime, Cecily's armor takes a beating but survives relatively intact... until after the battle when, while facing and talking to Luke, the chestplate shatters.

* In one episode of ''LightNovel/SasamiSanAtGanbaranai'' Sasami attacks Kagami with acid rain that steadily dissolves her clothes, causing them to become more and more ragged.

* In ''LightNovel/SoICantPlayH'', the girls' battle outfits are created by their powers and start to fall apart as they run low on energy.
* Happens in nearly every episode of ''Anime/SteelAngelKurumi''. In fact, in one episode of ''Anime/SteelAngelKurumi2'', the main character apparently has the ability to completely obliterate her outfit by flexing in just the right way.

* ''LightNovel/TokyoRavens'': Happens once to [[WholesomeCrossdresser Natsume]] after a SwordBeam shreds her clothing, and it's plot relevant. It was also intentional by her attacker as he was trying to locate a shikigami talisman presumably hidden in her clothes.

* In ''LightNovel/WorldBreakAriaOfCurseForAHolySwordsman'', Ranjou suffers this when she's hit from behind by Isurugi's axe during a practice match.

* ''Manga/{{Claymore}}'' is a great example of this trope done believably and decidedly ''not'' for fanservice. While the women in the series are certainly attractive, and they do end up with torn clothing ''very'' often, it's because [[JustifiedTrope they're throwing themselves into battle against monsters on a weekly basis]]. It's ''never'' a case of magical clothing damage that leaves them untouched; their clothing is being damaged due to things like [[FanDisservice having their limbs torn/cut/bitten off, or being impaled through the stomach, or having their chests gashed open]]. Granted, many of the humanoid monsters of the series wander around sans-clothing, or lose it when they transform into gigantic [[EldritchAbomination Eldritch Abominations]], but it's hard to stay focused on the fact that they're naked when they're ripping out the warriors' guts, slicing them quite literally [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe into chunks]], or torturing them to death.\\\
The only time the nudity ever has attention drawn to it, it's a PlotPoint, wherein one of the warriors tears off her shirt to showcase the BodyHorror that is done to turn them into HalfHumanHybrid[=s=]: [[spoiler:They're sliced open from throat to crotch, have monster flesh and blood shoved inside of them, and then the wound is crudely stitched up. And no, it does not heal. Their intestines are nearly on display any time they take their shirts off]].

*** Fujiko is introduced by walking into a gladiatorial area, wearing a cloak that covers her entire body, including obscuring her face. [[KnifeNut General Headhunter]] takes his boomerang-knives and throws them at her. They circle her and destroy her cloak before her fight, also acting as TheCoatsAreOff, signaling the start of their combat.

* Clothing damage is the subject of Chapter 38 of ''Manga/ADayInTheLife''. After the rest of the party goes down, their clothes in bad condition, the summoner tears his own shirt off in despair.

** Kagura's clothes are destroyed when Inu-Yasha uses Wind Scar on her. Then, when Goryomaru fires a laser at her, it destroys her clothes again.
** When Inu-Yasha battles Goshinki, Goshinki claws him and his shirt explodes.

* An early episode of ''Manga/{{Bastard}}'' has a villain throwing one of the female leads into a pit full of clothing-eating green slime.

** In any fight involving fighters with Freeza-army armor[[note]]sometimes mistakenly called "Saiyan armor" since that's who we most often see using it post-Freeza-arc[[/note]], the shoulder pauldrons and waist faulds around the waist nearly always get at least partially broken off. Later iterations of the stuff leave off the pauldrons and faulds altogether.

* ''Manga/ManyuHikencho'' has this in most episodes. Not even Chifusa, the main character, is immune to this; In the very first episode, her {{sarashi}} is destroyed... by the [[Main/BreastExpansion sheer force of her breasts expanding against it.]]

* In ''LightNovel/SeikenTsukaiNoWorldBreak'', Ranjou suffers this when she's hit from behind by Isurugi's axe during a practice match.

* ''Manga/Reborn2004'': Tsuna burns off all his clothes ([[MagicPants except his boxers]]) every time he gets hit with the Dying Will Bullet. It happens at least once an episode until the series hits more serious tone and he gets some burn-resistant clothing. It still pops up occasionally and to a lesser extent from actual battle damage afterwards

Then he realises he forgot about the ordinary-looking human who was wandering around near by and would presumably be killed by the fire. But that person turns out to be the ComicallyInvincibleHero Saitama in civilian clothing, so he's fine but his clothes are all burned away. Done for the NakedPeopleAreFunny trope.
