Shuzuo is a HotBlooded LoveableJock that truly cares for his students and who believes in Yusho's ideals while Leo is a detached scientist who takes advantage of his students to form an army and teaches the Academia the exact opposite of Yusho's ideals. [[spoiler:Shuzuo has a good relationship with Yuya, even entrusting Yuya to save Yuzu while Leo despises Zarc and is determined to kill him.]]

* HotBlooded: Yuya looked subdued by comparision. Shuzou even screams the term. His deck even has this theme, the Guts Master monsters. Shuzou is so hot-blooded that his name is even written with ''burning'' letters on the VersusCharacterSplash, a characteristic that everybody else lacks.

* BigGood: [[spoiler:PlayedWith in a different way from Reiji. He arrived in Heartland before Academia invaded it and taught the young people dueling skills that have helped them, but he also left one day. But he's currently in the Fusion Dimension working against Academia.]]

In the end of the second episode, Tatsuya joins the school as well, even after Yuya is accused for a cheater. The three of them accompany Yuya and Yuzu wherever they go and cheer them on. They're the representatives for You Show Duel School in the Junion division of the Maiami City Championship. Tatsuya uses an Entermachine Deck; Ayu uses an Aqua Actress Deck; Futoshi uses a Sketch Deck.
