* DynamicCharacter: Lance has undergone one of the most subtle and well-rounded character developments amongst the main cast. Though he has retained some parts of his fun and flirtatious personality, in later seasons we begin to see Lance step up to leadership roles, comforting roles, and support roles when need be. Lance has come a long way from his Season 1 personality and it reflects in his interactions with the other members of his team.
** He was able to comfort Keith in Season 3 and set aside his own misgivings and jealous tendencies to support Keith in his leadership endeavors.
** Offers advice and a genuine moments of friendship to Allura in Season 5, where before he would have continued flirting with her as his way of making her feel better.
** In "Blood Duel" and "Postmortem," Lance was commanding the team during the retrieval of Sam Holt and seen issuing orders outside of Shiro's directive. In prior seasons, his few acts of command have prompted sarcastic backtalk (Pidge) or a walkout (Keith), though now his teammates, are more receptive to his decision making and lead in certain situations.
** Throughout Season 6, Lance experiences jealousy and heartbreak over Allura's growing romantic interest in Lotor. The Lance of seasons past might have stomped his feet and thrown a fit, or at the very least bothered Allura and the guy she likes with his feelings, but Season 6's Lance is mature enough to let Allura be happy without him and keep his feelings to himself. And when Lotor does turn out to have been lying to her, he doesn't try to position himself as the superior option and instead just comforts her.

* ExtraordinarilyEmpoweredGirl: When it comes to manipulating quintessence, Allura has no equal. From healing whole planets to powering super-machines she can do it; even though doing it would kill most people, it just leaves her tired for a few days. When Hagger attacks her in Season 2 with quintessence, instead of hurting Allura, the young princess instead absorbed the energy and gained a giant power boost.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Princess Allura has white hair rather than blonde hair, emphasizing how otherworldly she is.

* IllBoy: Flashbacks indicate that when he was a pilot on Earth [[spoiler:he was suffering from some kind of undefined degenerative illness that was sapping his strength and would likely eventually kill him at an early age. No longer the case now since his clone body is free of said illness.]]
