* CombatTentacles: [[spoiler: Yog Sothoth in Shiro's body sprouts these when he gets serious during the final confrontation in chapter 7. UpToEleven when it turns out these can inflict TimeStandsStill with just light touch on their victims. That's not even going into the fact that he could sprout dozens of them and make them the size of a whole room!]]

* ChickMagnet: Because of the Protagonist's unique nature, they find themselves attracting the attention of virtually every Transient they come across due to the majority of them sensing familiarity from one of the 24 souls within them. Aizen at one point even calls them a "love singularity" that unwittingly draws love and affection toward themselves. Aizen points out that this can lead to conflict, and can also draw aggression toward them, as shown when Hakumen, Ophion, and Lucifuge passive-aggressively try to vie for their affections alone.

* PowerAtAPrice: Being able to sever the Rules and metaphysical concepts of all 24 worlds makes the Protagonist sound unstoppable, right? [[SubvertedTrope Nope]]. The Protagonist's still subject the rules of the App and if their Rule were to clash with an opposing Rule, an Exception will be summoned. This also means that due to being considered connected to all 24 worlds, the Protagonist now has a massive number of potential people whose Rules they might contradict with and has a greatly increased chance of triggering an Exception with every battle. [[spoiler:This exact situation occurs in chapter 8 when the Protagonist tries to defend against a furious Arc's chains and wound up creating an Exception Error when the Protagonist's Rule of Rending clashed with Arc's Rule of Binding.]]

The price paid for such power is to remain a Wanderer, exiled from home.\\\

* ChickMagnet: Because of the Protagonist's unique nature, they find themselves attracting the attention of virtually every Transient they come across due to the majority of them sensing familiarity from one of the 24 souls within them. Aizen at one point even calls them a "love singularity" that unwittingly draws love and affection toward themselves. Aizen deconstructs this slightly by pointing out that this can lead to conflict, and can also draw aggression toward them, as shown when Hakumen, Ophion, and Lucifuge passive-aggressively try to vie for their affections alone.

* LustObject: Quite a few individuals express their overt desire to possess, be with, and otherwise fawn over the Protagonist and even more are heavily implied to hold passionate feelings for them. As Michael revealed, this allure is a built-in part of their nature as the Trophy of The Game. Everyone in Walled Tokyo loves and hates the Protagonist in equal amount.

* [[WorldsMostBeautifulWoman World's Most Beautiful Person]]: The denizens of Canaan compared the Protagonist's beauty to that of their own resident beauty, Astarte. It's apparently so striking that the citizens would fawn over the Protagonist just as they would Astarte even [[spoiler: before the two had inadvertently switch Roles]].

->A diligent second-year student from Shinjuku Academy who is also the representative of his class. He can be a bit stubborn but he has a wide range of knowledge and is highly intelligent. He loves the occult and is also a childhood friend of Kengo Takabushi. He's an avid reader but does not actually get along with people who rely on book-smarts.\\\

->A second-year student at Shinjuku Academy in Shinjuku Ward. He was taught martial arts by his parents and he takes great pride in it. He has sworn to live by the fist and skips school to make his way to Ikebukuro and party it up at the underground Colosseum. He grew up with Shiro Motoori. His hobbies include training in the mountains so he has a soft spot for people who like the mountains.\\\

A Second Year Student and one of the Protagonist's classmates. Kengo is a dedicated martial artist and tends to solve his problems with his fists. Often brash and confrontational, though Kengo does have a caring side.

->A second-year high school student at Shinjuku Academy. He has many friends and acquaintances all over Tokyo and his hobby is wandering from restaurant to restaurant. He is Shiro and Kengo's classmate and is also in the same social group. He falls in love easily and likes anyone with an elegant demeanor.\\\

Another of the Protagonist's classmates, Ryota often has a cheery demeanor and is known for his love for food. He often serves as a balance between his more outspoken peers, and has many friends and contacts outside of Shinjuku Academy.

->A male high school student who carries a cursed blade. He is a Shinto priest in training as well as an exorcist. Because he can hear the voices of the dead, spirits always gather around him. When it comes to supernatural incidents, his powers function like an antenna that can gather the spirits of the dead. He has a strong dislike of optimistic people who don't think things through.\\\

->A Transient from a world called the Land of Wa. A second-year in Shinjuku Academy. He is a young boy who swore to his now late warrior family that he would become a great samurai and make a name for himself in Tokyo by seeking the strong. Because he came from a world where war was common, he knows how to use his sword effectively in battle. He was raised as a girl by his mother when he was young, so he feels a strong affinity to those who cross-dress.\\\

Another of the Protagonist's classmates. Moritaka is a cheerful presence among the Summoners and values friendship and honor above all other things. While still in training, Moritaka does still have considerable skill with a blade, and one day hopes to be a master swordsman.

->A Transient originally from another world known as the Land of Wa, where he served as a shrine's guardian dog. With his partner-cum-grandfather figure, Ungyo, having been recently buried after fulfilling his duty, he is currently on the hunt for a new partner. Agyo's strong desire to become the perfect guardian dog fuels his search for a partner who will take his life's work equally as seriously.\\\

->A Transient with several tricks up his sleeve who loves pulling pranks. His favorite thing to do is to swipe valuables from right under people's noses, because he loves the way their arrogant faces transform when they realize something is gone. After being summoned to modern Japan, he has fallen head over heels for the pop culture. He is especially interested in games, manga, and anime, with a particular emphasis on ninjas.\\\

->A Transient forged by the dwarves in the world of Yggdrasil. The sword he carries has the power to fell even a giant in a single swing, and a powerful Rule that grants victory to its wielder. It was originally the possession of his master, and is of such high quality that he has yet to become fully proficient in its use. His master is fated to fall in battle, but had they not given away this sword, they may have been destined for a different fate. A modest Therian, Gullinbursti does not wish for the formidable strength of the sword, but nonetheless, trains constantly to make himself worthy of bearing it. He is bewildered by those whose mindset may differ greatly from that of a boar such as himself, but still finds them fascinating.\\\

->The '19 model Replicant (android) created by a mega corporation in the world of Utopia in order to gather information from other worlds. Their top priority is to investigate such worlds and to make contact with intelligent life. His physical appearance was designed to evoke protective instincts in others. The autonomously learning AI installed in him allows him to deal flexibly with varying situations but he is still lacking in experience and emotionally repressed. He is interested in people with nice smiles and who present a variety of emotions as models from whom he can learn.\\\

->A high school student who, while being known in Tokyo as a kendo strongarm and accomplished military and literary scholar, commutes to prep school. He acts as the manager of a student think-tank centered in Hongo, Bunkyo Ward. At the same time, he is a member of the upper echelons of the Hongo Wisemen, allies of the Berserkers. He adores doting on his one and only little brother Duo, but is always saddened by being treated as an annoyance. Knowing the darkness from before the time when Transient's appeared in Tokyo, he doesn't trust anything other than his blood-ties.

->A child prodigy whose parents are Japanese and Indian. He has obtained over 10 doctorates via virtual schooling in fields such as mathematics and physics. He is the guild master of the Hongo Guild located in Bunkyo Ward and also operates as a student think tank. Duo is a nickname with several origins, one of which being that there are two Ds in his full name. He is surprisingly friendly toward people who treat him in a manner appropriate to his young age.

* FakeDefector: Happens when the Representatives of the Rule Makers show their faces at the Chapter 8 finale. Shuichi is happy to see his brother is alive and well, only for Duo to disregard him, revealing his allegiance to the Representatives. Shuichi....[[HeroicBsod doesn't take it very well]]. Chapter 9 implies that Duo is still on the Protagonist's side, but must work to divert attention away from them by joining the Representatives.
** Chapter 10 reveals that by submitting himself to the Representatives, Duo would have greater freedom of movement and the ability to observe first hand what's happening in and out of the 3 True Guilds allowing him to take advantage of any opportunity that might come up in his efforts to subvert the Game's expectations.

* SiblingTeam: Despite their differences, Duo and Shuichi work well together as a team, their Sacred Artifacts even complementing each other's. This is subverted in the chapter 8 finale when Duo allies himself with the Rule Makers guild and leaves Shuichi behind.
** From chapter 11 onward, Bertro takes over as Duo's number 2 in lieu of Shuichi.

* {{Expy}}: Of Dr. Romani Archaman from ''VideoGame/FateGrandOrder''. A self-sacrificing mentor and counselor who is heavily connected to King Solomon and the tenth ring? ''Check.''

->He is a smoke genie Transient who works at Shinjuku Academy as the assistant teacher of your class. He wears a tracksuit and carries around a bamboo sword to discipline students. He is usually carefree and allows his students freedom of spirit as well. His fellow teacher, Mr. Triton, is very particular about the school rules so they don't get along. On the other hand, he sees Mr. Mononobe as the ideal teacher.\\\

Despite appearing early on in the story, he has only been released as a playable unit with the Seaside School Event in 2017.

->A teacher of Shinjuku Academy where the protagonist and friends attend. He loves his students and is constantly competing with his colleague Jinn to see who is the better teacher. In contrast to Jinn, who has a dynamic personality and takes a laid back approach with students, Triton is of a serious nature and is quite strict with rules. A merman, and thus good in aquatic environments, he also acts as advisor to the water polo and swim teams. His affinity for all places wet often leads to him sleeping overnight in the bathroom of the RA room at the academy. Triton harbors a deep respect for Mr. Mononobe, another colleague of his.\\\

Despite appearing early on in the story, he has only been released as a playable unit with the Remote Island Expedition Event in 2017.

* BattleHarem: It's clear that the Player's classmates all harbor romantic feelings for them and that makes them all the more effective in dealing with threats.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: [[spoiler:Like with most everyone else in Tokyo, each and everyone of the Player's guildmates has had a turn at offing them to stop the Representatives from achieving victory in some prior loops. We were briefly shown Shiro's attempt and Ryota's was mentioned.]]

* AbsurdlySharpBlade: The Protagonist’s sacred artifact and weapon, a sword named Boundless Tail, takes the form of an Ancient Japanese ceremonial blade with the power to sever anything and everything. Thanks to being composed of 24 souls, each from one of the 24 connected worlds in Tokyo, the Player is capable of interfering with and severing both physical and metaphysical concepts from all 24 worlds with lasting consequences. [[spoiler:The prime example being the Protagonist’s severance of Bald Mountain’s hold on Chernobog, allowing him to finally leave his home and experience the world.]]

* DidYouJustRomanceCthulhu: The people the Protagonist can flirt with range from regular therians and humans, like Moritaka and their classmates, to outright Eldritch gods, like Tsathoggua. [[spoiler:Of course, that's not going into the fact that the Player actually is Cthulhu!]]
* FallenAngel: One of the Protagonist’s souls is that of Lucifer (referred to in this game as Shaytan), the Morning Star and the first fallen angel.

* FlashStep: The power granted by Ushiwakamaru's soul. His katana, Usimidori, had the power to sever the distance between him and a target, allowing him, and by extension the Player, to teleport.

* HumanSacrifice: [[spoiler:What Michael claims he and the other World Representatives of the Rule Makers plans to turn the Protagonist into. While the details are still murky and Amaterasu stopped Michael’s [[EvilGloating gloating]] before he could reveal too much, it seems to be a continuation of what Eden had originally intended for Shaytan, the implications being to turn the Protagonist into an omnipotent tool for the benefits of Eden and/or the Systems of the other 23 Worlds.]]

* KillTheOnesYouLove: Shown to them by Azathoth to have happened to them over and over throughout hundreds of repeated timelines during the game's course. The only shown examples are Shiro, Ryota, Toji, Kengo, Moritaka and Tadatomo, but narration implies there are countless loved ones through each history that end up killing the protagonist for one reason or another. According to Hephaestus, [[spoiler:every character has killed them in some timeline.]]

** During the events of Canaan, things get even more complicated when the Protagonist agrees to take Astarte's place for the day while she sneak out to take care of her business. In order to complete the disguise, Astarte lends the Protagonist her crown, which amplifies the Protagonist's allure to such a scale that an entire crowd could fall love-stuck with just a simple gesture from them and it ended with them being essentially proposed to by 3 of the 4 lords of Canaan.

A being that appeared to the Player soon after they awoke. They are an existence that can only be perceived by the Player and seems to have intimate knowledge about the workings of the App and the battles occurring in Tokyo, though perhaps not as ''much'' knowledge as one would like.

* DemonicPossession: Much of chapter 2 revolves around freeing him when the Necronomicon takes control of him and runs amok in the city. [[spoiler: It happens again in chapter 7. Thankfully the player manages to release him from Yog's control, seemingly permanently this time.]]

* EnemiesList: He's on Michael's. That's because [[spoiler:he killed the Player on a loop that was the closest Michael ever came to victory. Now the Archangel has a special and dark place in his heart for Shiro for ruining his chance.]]

* WeWinBecauseYouDidnt: Personally held in special contempt by [[spoiler: Michael because, in at least one timeline, Shiro opted to kill the Player and reset the loop rather than let Michael have the win.]]

* PersonalityPowers: More straightforward compared to others: His Role is Fighter and Rule is Infinity, granting him an endless well of power to keep fighting.

* AndroclesLion: Despite being given an opportunity to escape from the oni by the hero, Ryota comes back shortly to return the favor with an attack from behind when the Oni gains the upper hand.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite the fact that his sacred artifact primarily grants him healing abilities and has little in actual offense, Ryota was still able to [[spoiler:kill the Player to save them from the Representatives during a prior loop.]]
* BigEater: Loves food very much. In fact, just thinking about what Choji was going to make was enough to activate his sacred artifact for the first time.

* DistressedDude: Being rescued by the player is how their friendship starts.
* FatBestFriend: The first of the trio the protagonist actually meets and befriends.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: The cause of the Exception boss in Chapter 4, when his ability to heal all wounds conflicts with Zabaniya's ability to generate a fire that will kill without fail, which causes the app to glitch out once again, summoning the Fisher King.

* AnIcePerson: His sacred artifact is a katana that turns into a long blade of ice, which he can use to freeze enemies. In game this means he is usually a Water unit.

* ButtMonkey: Comes with the NiceGuy territory, unfortunately. The game loves to place Moritaka in this position. One notable instance is in the first Valentine’s event when Moritaka ended up eating Ryota's food, which was bad enough to make him lose consciousness. Other examples include any time Shino is around, as Shino seems to have turned tormenting Moritaka into his personal pastime when not giving the poor canine TrainingFromHell.
* CombatPragmatist: In order to prevent Yasuyori from collapsing the room he and the Protagonist are fighting in, he straight out ''bites'' Yasuyori in a suprisingly brutal move after Yasuyori nullifies his attack from his ice sword.

* FireForgedFriends: With Shuuichi, especially since they attend kendo classes together.

** Chapter 9 has him dropping everything to stick by [[spoiler:Shuuichi's]] side, hanging out with him throughout the first half of the chapter following [[spoiler:Duo's]] betrayal.

* MoreExpendableThanYou: Refers to himself as such, repeating how his life doesn't matter as long as he can protect the protagonist. The player scolds R-19 for viewing himself as such.

* FakeDefector: Happens when the Representatives of the Rule Makers show their faces at the Chapter 8 finale. The core cast of the game, who meet and befriend the hero within the first chapters. Their base of operation is located in Shinjuku City, a special ward of the Greater Tokyo Area. The majority of the guild members attends Shinjuku Academy during the day.

* {{Baphomet}}: Lil Sal physically resembles a chibified version of a goat demon. [[spoiler:He also resembles Mephistopheles a great deal as well.]]

* MrExposition: Begins the game as our sole source of information on the mechanics of the App and how battles work. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] later on, as Sal reveals he's missing crucial information about his origins and the true reasons behind the battles in Tokyo. [[spoiler:The pieces begins coming back to him from chapter 9 onward.]]

* CombatTentacles: [[spoiler: Yog!Shiro sprouts these when he gets serious during the final confrontation in chapter 7. * CordonBleughChef: Thanks to his responsible personality, Shiro is usually a pretty decent cook for the team, Unfortunately, during the "Valentine Panic!" event Shiro thought using the Necronomicon as a chocolate recipe book was a [[IdiotBall good idea]]. While the chocolate itself apparently tastes good, some very strange ingredients went into it, including Sitri's feathers, and he eventually ends up creating a [[EldritchAbomination SHOGGOTH]] made out of liquid chocolate.

* EnemiesList: He's on Michaels. That's because [[spoiler:he killed the Player on a loop that was the closest Michael ever came to victory. Now the Archangel has a special and dark place in his heart for Shiro for ruining his chance.]]

* LethalChef: As opposed to Shiro, who can make chocolate just fine but ends up using strange ingredients with odd side effects, Ryota's chocolate during "Valentine's Panic" is just straight-up horrible. The aforementioned ''shoggoth'' [[HorrifyingTheHorror is repulsed by it.]]

* ButtMonkey: Comes with the NiceGuy territory, unfortunately. The game loves to place Moritaka in this position. One notable instance is in the first Valentine’s event when Moritaka ended up eating Ryota's food, which was bad enough to make him lose consciousness. Other examples include "any time Shino is around", as Shino seems to have turned tormenting Moritaka into his personal pastime when not giving the poor canine TrainingFromHell.

* ArtificialHuman: Duo, alongside his ''siblings'', Shuichi, Bertro, Isaac and Curren, were created as part of an inhumane experiment in Eastern Tokyo aimed at the fusion of human with sacred artifacts. For this experiment, the three were cloned from the genetic template of a certain set of geniuses, until one day Shuichi managed to escape with Duo in arm to Western Tokyo.
** As he is considered a ''successful sample'', he's in essence a living Pillar.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: He's the clone of some famous genius and was created with the express purpose of being a back-up supercomputer in the event any of his ''siblings'' ever goes rogue or went down. Despite escaping from their creator with one of brothers, Duo was never able to experience reprieve or have a normal childhood since by that point he was already trapped in Walled Tokyo. To top it all off, he can't even express the grief in his heart since the experiments that were performed on him also stripped him of his emotional faculties.
* {{Determinator}}: It would be all too easy for him to simply follow his pre-program inclinations and act like an emotionless robot, while treating everyone around him like they're expendable, just like the rest of the Geniuses. But Duo is simply not that kind of person. As Chapter 10 demonstrates, no matter how miniscule or fleeting his sense of compassion, pity, and kindness may be, Duo will try his damn hardest to help people, in whatever way he can.

* HeroesLoveDogs: Duo absolutely adore dogs and apparently hang out with Garmr on occasion without Shuichi's knowledge.

* MercyKill: He offers one to R-19 at the end of Chapter 10 after he had receive the replicant's observation data. He even allows R-19 to think it over despite the prison school collapsing around them and when R-19 declines the offer, Duo politely back-down and the two part ways once more.

* SiblingTeam: Despite their differences, Duo and Shuichi work well together as a team, their Sacred Artifacts even complimenting each other's. This is subverted in the chapter 8 finale when Duo allies himself with the Rule Makers guild and leaves Shuichi behind.

* ArtificialHuman: Duo, alongside his ''siblings'', Shuichi and Curren, were created as part of an inhumane experiment in Eastern Tokyo aimed at the fusion of human with sacred artifacts. For this experiment, the three were cloned from the genetic template of a certain set of geniuses, until one day Shuichi managed to escape with Duo in arm to Western Tokyo.

* TheUnSmile: Duo's ''smile'' expression had always felt off, particularly his eyes. Chapter 11 reveals the reason why his smile feels so eerie.
