* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Fi is the antithesis to her console-release simlish-speaking predecessor [[Videogame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Midna]]. Midna is highly charismatic, emotional, the true protagonist of her game, mostly hints instead of explicitly spelling out what's going on, and most of all starts out just using Link before coming to genuinely care for him. Fi is robotic, borderline emotionless, very much a supporting character, spells out every little detail, and is incredibly loyal from the start thanks to her programming while eventually growing to enjoy her time with Link.

** [[WordOfGod Aonuma]] has said Ghirahim was designed to contrast with Ganondorf's "very masculine, powerful, evil" characteristics. As a result, this makes Ghirahim also somewhat resemble [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheMinishCap Vaati]], who is somewhere in the middle of the effeminate/masculine spectrum. This also makes him contrast his master Demise, who is ''[[ExaggeratedTrope exceedingly]]'' [[RatedMForManly masculine]].

* FantasyCounterpartReligion: Curiously, despite serving under what is essentially just Susanoo-no-Mikoto, Ghirahim shares some hallmarks of Lucifer. He is beautiful (or at least attempts to be), incredibly prideful, a counterpart to [[GuardianAngel Fi]], and near the end of the game invites Link to an [[FallenAngel 'endless plunge']]

* MorphicResonance: Even after being restored, Demise retains the Imprisoned's scaly skin.

* NiceToTheWaiter: His relationship with Fi, in a nutshell. Though it rarely rises beyond the level of master and servant, he’s never unkind to her, and by most of his DialogueTrees, he appears to regard her rather chummily. Come the end of the game, he's visibly upset at having to return the Master Sword to its pedestal, knowing that Fi will never be able to manifest outside of it again.

* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Neither he nor Ghirahim give any recognition to the name 'Demise', but it's the only word the humans could use to describe him.

* ArchEnemy: To [[EvilCounterpart Ghirahim]]. Link's constant interference with Ghirahim's plans and repeated victories during their duels eventually draw the Demon Lord's ire.

* AlmostKiss: Near the beginning after the flight challenge. Till Zelda pushes him off the statue instead.

* PeekABangs: His bangs cover the left half of his face. His final form lacks this, with shorter combed hair that frames his face similarly to Fi's.

* MediumAwareness: He has some awareness of the kind of setting he's in, but he never seems to grasp that he's repeatedly bumping into [[ChosenOne the goddess's chosen hero]].

* WhipItGood: He receives a whip in the Ancient Cistern. It can be used to attack enemies or to cling up to certain sticky areas. In the latter case, you can swing back and forth.

* SenpaiKohai: Pipit acts as the sempai to Link and the other students.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He's the "Demon Lord", and the strongest of them all. Except for Demise, who's his master and even stronger than him.
