Formerly a soldier of war named Lucas, Dark Oak is actually a member of a species of plant-like creatures from a faraway planet. His enhanced metalic body came to him as an idea to help turn the tide of the war he & his forces were waging against an unknown alien race.

Lucas & his men survived, however, & with most of his species & homeworld dead (save for his daughter Cosmo, who escaped during the planet's destruction), he took on the name of Dark Oak (based on his skin color prior to the transformation), named the last of his army the Metarex, & vowed to strip the galaxy of all non-plant life. With a galaxy devoid of humans[=/=]humanoids, Dark Oak's twisted version of peace can finally be achieved. Free of war. Free of destruction.

In spite of his seemingly noble goal to obtain peace, Dark Oak isn't exactly against using brute force to get what he wants. He'll gleefully take joy in the destruction of all non-plant based organics & cut through them like candy with the help of his Metarex drones. Once finding out that his daughter Cosmo was about to escape their home planet, he forced her to surrender & made her a spy for the Metarex, implanting trackers within his own offspring just so he could get a leg up on Sonic & Co. to ensure they didn't foil his plans.

* AdaptationalComicRelief: In the ''Sonic X'' anime, Dark Oak is a serious and stoic villain, and no joke is ever made at his expense, with his first scene having him [[TheWorfEffect beat Super Sonic in combat]]. Here, he's got enough hamminess to rival that of Eggman himself, his "forestation" goals played for more ridiculousness, and he's been given a number of BumblingDad traits (which don't even ''begin'' to describe his relationship with Cosmo in the series).

* ShadowArchetype: She can arguably be viewed as a representation of stereotypes some have given to Amy Rose herself (in part due to her {{Flanderization}} in the mid-2000s): a psychotic {{Yandere}} that only has (her) Sonic on her mind at all times, without any kind, mature or upstanding qualities whatsoever.

Sleet also likes to abuse Dingo's hidden shapeshifting ability to his upmost advantage, given a remote by Robotnik that lets him transform Dingo into whatever he feels neccesary.

* AlmightyIdiot: At one point Dingo absorbed a Chaos Emerald and mutated into a enormous blob monster that threatened to destroy the planet.

* ForcedTransformation: Due to him being sesitive to Chaos Energy, he can be transformed by Sleet using the remote control.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Genuinely loves his daughter Cosmo and wants her to rule the galaxy by his side, but sadly for him the feeling isn't mutual.

* KnightTemplar: Dark Oak believes that only plant life is worth any value while everything else in the universe is too flawed. Thus he seeks to reset everything in order to end all wars and conflict, regardless of how many have to die in the process. Granted, unlike canon, it's all PlayedForLaughs, with even [[CardCarryingVillain Eggman]] and [[BumblingSidekick Coconuts]] quietly realizing how [[InsaneTrollLogic paradoxical]] Dark Oak's ideas are.

* WellDoneDadGuy: "At last, a chance to unveil my plans for galactic conquest, peace and prosperity to all the multiverse! Maybe then, my daughter Cosmo will finally want to follow her old man's line of work!"

* BerserkButton: Mocking or tricking him ''in any way'' is liable to set him off, and he even preforms a Chaos Blast just because of a simple "[[YourMom Jo Mama]]" joke.

* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Shadow was once shown a poorly edited video of Sonic dissing him by Eggman so he would attack Sonic and his friends, and Scourge wastes no time mocking him for falling for it.

* TheDreaded: Was sealed away behind a firewall by Eggman, for good reason. Once he [[DemonicPossession possesses]] Cubot and Grounder, [[KnightOfCerebus the QA video takes a rather dark turn]].

* RedOniBlueOni: The red to [[spoiler:Sonic.EXE]]'s blue. He's an AxCrazy, powertripping sociopath who straight-up just wants to murder everything and everyone and has no restraint in doing so.

The story of Chaos dates back to a time before Knuckles was born. Thousands of years ago on the mysterious Floating Island (known to it's inhabitants as Angel Island), The Echidnas crafted a sound civilization built around the protection of the Chaos Emeralds, powerful gems with magical properties. The Echidna civilization's most valued possession, The Master Emerald, kept the Island afloat with magic, and was safely held within an altar, guarded by the Echidna chief, Pachacamac (Or Pacha for short!) and visited frequently by the chief's daughter Tikal.

* NothingIsScarier: Nothing is known about him, even his bio on the official site contains nothing but his image...

* CardCarryingVillain: Most of them are bad to the bone and reveling in it. Eggman's key desire is getting the world to submit to his ego and genius, Naugus and Scourge desire to similarly be worshiped like kings, Sleet and Dingo want to bathe in wealth and power, Shadow loathes the ideals of friendship and openly wants to bury them into the ground, Rosy knows how AxCrazy she is and embraces it as her life philosophy (ditto for Super Sonic), and to a lesser degree Scratch, Grounder, Coconuts and Brainwashed!Sara are proud of being servants to a Robotnik and terrorizing people wherever they go. The only definite exceptions to this are Orbot and Cubot as PunchClockVillains and Dark Oak as a KnightTemplar, and even then the latter's view of himself as [[WellIntentionedExtremist doing things for the greater good]] runs on borderline InsaneTrollLogic.

* FromNobodyToNightmare: Infinite was originally the leader of a mercenary group known as the Jackal Squad; they eventually joined up with Eggman and were assigned to protect his lab in Mystic Jungle. However, Shadow defeated the group and dealt Infinite a humiliating defeat. After which he vowed to become stronger, leading him to become Infinite.

The countless casualties of his men & his unwavering desire to keep fighting, led to him using he & his soldiers' new bodies to strip their home planet of its life source (known as a 'Planet Egg' amongst his species). The females within Lucas' species hated the idea from the start, including Lucas' family; his wife Earthia, along with his daughters Galaxia & Cosmo, who ordered a nuclear strike on Lucas & his men for their betrayal & corrupted new forms.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: On occasion he comes off as a lot more goofy than the other villains, but make no mistake, he's still ''beaten Super Sonic in combat''. One of him, at least.

* KnightTemplar: Dark Oak believes that only plant life is worth any value while all else in the universe is too flawed. Thus he seeks to reset everything in order to end all wars and conflict, regardless of how many have to die in the process. Granted, unlike canon, it's all PlayedForLaughs, with even [[CardCarryingVillain Eggman]] and [[BumblingSidekick Coconuts]] quietly realizing how [[InsaneTrollLogic paradoxical]] Dark Oak's ideas are.

The professed "UltimateLifeForm", known for his competitive streak, brooding nature and incredible powers granted by Chaos (Crystal) energy. But that's more or less where the similarities end between him and the Shadow the Hedgehog ''you'' may be more familiar with.

In contrast to how his "Prime" self is ultimately on the heroes' side despite his similarly lethal nature, [[AdaptationalVillainy this Shadow is far more cruel and sadistic by comparison]], having rejected the ideals of friendship, teamwork and heroism entirely. While most locals merely view him as a freak who lives alone in a cave, it's speculated that he harbors feelings of betrayal related to a [[MysteriousPast sketchy history]] with his version of Sonic, of which may culminate in the grudge he holds against the blue hedgehog and his friends today. He's undertaken several attempts to prove his superiority to his hated rival in the ages since, one of which involved him willfully endangering his universe's safety just for the sake of revenge.

Despite utterly loathing his version of Eggman-- and the other villains of his universe-- for [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain being too soft]], he's joined Eggman Prime's crew in their plans to erase all versions of Sonic from the multiverse, willing to put up with even their most annoying quirks so long as he can fulfill his desire to put down Sonic and every ideal he stands for.

* EvilIsPetty: His main reason for joining the villain allience purely because he considers Sonic's belief in ThePowerOfFriendship to be a sign of weakness.

* VirtueIsWeakness: He openly views Sonic's reliance on friendship and teamwork as a sign of weakness joining the villain alliance solely because of this.

An incomplete project of Dr. Eggman's from [[VideoGame/SonicForces his last big scheme]], X was a program created through the use of Chaos energy, Eggman's knowledge and Sonic's bio-data, intended to be a virus that would infect the Resistance's systems and black them out before turning them against their former users.

While X was never utilized during the war, it was developed enough to form a personality-- and a sadistic one, at that. Using his abilities to lure in unsuspecting victims, he traps them into a digital world of his own creation, playing a "game" with them where they have no chance of survival, and relishing in their pitiful squirming all the way.

* AGodAmI: Just like in his source material, X possesses a rather noticeable god complex. As he briefly yells at the villains when they attempt to restrain [[DemonicPossession the possessed Cubot and Grounder]] that [[BlasphemousBoast they cannot contain God]].
* InformedAttribute: Despite evidently having "developed its own twisted take on Sonic's personality" as per the website's description of him, he doesn't really seem to have anything in common with the blue blur besides his appearance and self-pride. * NotSoAboveItAll: Despite being built up as the Q&A's KnightOfCerebus, he doesn't seem to really pay mind to anything happening around him as he hammily chants about his godhood, decides to use his possession of Grounder to ''pettily bite Sleet like an angry dog'', mocks Dark Oak for his parenting skills and uses Cubot and Grounder to sing show tunes backwards. ''For thirty minutes.''

In the [[ComicBook/SonicTheComic "Fleetway Dimension"]], Sonic instead transforms as a result of extreme stress or Chaos energy exposure, turning him into a [[SuperpoweredEvilSide remorseless sadist]] fueled by nothing less than pure, unadulterated evil. The powers he possesses are also more varied than the most versions of Super Sonic: super-powered heat vision; the ability to (often fatally) fill others with his Chaos Energy; the power to release a worldwide electromagnetic pulse; and general invincibility. So far, the only thing that ever stopped this Super Sonic from turning his planet into a parking lot was the same time limit he's shared with the multiverse's other Super Sonics, forcing him to turn back into his normal (if grouchy) self when running out of energy.

* {{Jerkass}}: He's got Sonic's cocky, immature and arrogant attitude… with none of his goodness and self-restraint.

* RedOniBlueOni: The red to [[spoiler: Sonic.EXE]]'s blue. He's an AxCrazy, powertripping sociopath who straight-up just wants to murder everything and everyone and has no restraint in doing so.

Since then, Chaos has been released by Dr. Eggman once already, causing a massive flood that would've destroyed Earth had Sonic & Co. not stopped him. Chaos is a creature of peace whose power is constantly manipulated by those with villainous intent. And once again, it seems the mad doctor has plans to release the entity and unleash it's power with nothing but pure vengeance.

** '''Sloth:''' Sleet, whose ultimate desire to live an aristocratic life of pleasure-- and happily leave the lower classes to rot-- is his personal motivation for destroying the Sonic Underground and collecting the bounty placed on their heads. While he's definitely not a lazy villain in practice, he still frequently exploits Dingo as a part of his schemes and knowingly gets him to take most of the physical brunt.

Everyone's favorite RecurringBoss, MadScientist and FatBastard, head honcho to the bad guys, and the self-declared "greatest scientific genius in the world".

* AffablyEvil: Sort of a mix between this and his canon self's FauxAffablyEvil. He's as arrogant, rude and self-centered as usual, but he seems to be a little more lenient towards his allies here (such as having an honest and open conversation with Dark Oak about [[ItMakesSenseInContext parenting]]), possibly due to RuleOfFunny being at play.

* EvilLaugh: Let's out a truly menacing one at the end of [[https://youtu.be/KJIwTFMPqME this video.]]

* OnlySaneByComparison: You wouldn't expect this to be the case, but between a bunch of BumblingSidekick robots, a psychotic pink hedgehog and cat-girl, two snide and actively misanthropic hedgehogs, a SmugSnake wolf-man, his DumbMuscle flunky, a grouchy old wizard, and a BumblingDad with a botany fixation, it's not hard to see why he might be one of the more level-headed in the group. Even said BumblingDad admittedly views him "the only one with sense" out of everyone in the Q&A. That being said, he's still the same [[LaughablyEvil eccentric evil scientist]] we all know and love, and his self-egotism is still a driving factor that some other characters call out.

Dr. Eggman's magnum opus and [[TheDragon right hand champion]], and the Badnik said to have gotten the closest to killing Sonic-- and all because he's meant to be the ''better'' Sonic in every meaningful way, existing through a combination of Eggman's cold hard machinery, his mathematical estimates based on research, and bio-data taken from the blue blur. But even with all his power and ruthlessness, Metal has never truly been able to defeat his fleshy counterpart, and so has spent years yearning for the day that he'll finally succeed in defeating Sonic and proving himself to all as the "''real'' Sonic".

* AdaptationalSympathy: In ''Sonic Forces'' and the prequel comics made to promote it, there was no indication that Infinite actually ''cared'' about his Jackal Squad-- aside from the possible humiliation he felt about Shadow killing them before being beaten up himself-- and never cares to think about them again once he became one with the Phantom Ruby. Here, his desire for revenge against Sonic and his friends is itself motivated by a desire to reunite with his lost crew.

* FromNobodyToNightmare: Infinite was originally a the leader of a mercenary group known as the Jackal Squad, they eventually joined up with Eggman and were assigned to protect his lab in Mystic Jungle. However Shadow defeated the group and dealt Infinite a humiliating defeat. After which he vowed to become stronger, leading him to become Infinite.

A team of three diw-witted hench-robots built to combat their version of Sonic for their Dr. Robotnik.

* IronButtMonkey: The trio are often crushed, mangled and blown to bits in their pursuits against Sonic, and yet come out intact at the end of the day. When asked about their status as this in the Q&A, with Boom!Shadow interjects that they were the closest in proximity to a Chaos Blast he did earlier. They assume that this is due to them being MadeOfIron, but [[DumbassHasAPoint Dingo]] guesses that it could be due to their dimension running on ToonPhysics.

Scratch's would-be "identical twin" if the chicken-bot hadn't touched the wrong lever on the robot-making machine. Hence, Grounder has a more compact and dense physique, being a perfect combo of tools, gadgets and enough defective circuitry to make Scratch look gifted.

* [[spoiler: BrainwashedAndCrazy: The [=EXE=] virus possesses him in the climax of the Q & A.]]

One day, this Sonic learned of the Cosmic Interstate-- and the multiverse by proxy-- and didn't take the news that he was merely an "Anti-" knock-off of the "Archie" Dimension's Sonic very well. "Anti-Sonic" was thus driven to make a name for himself and clashed with the Sonic he was connected to on multiple occasions, and eventually used the "Archie" Dimension's Master Emerald to mutate himself into the more powerful "Scourge the Hedgehog". Scourge soon joined the Destructix mercenary team under the command of the mad echidna scientist Dr. Finitevus, convinced Sonic's ally Fiona Fox to leave the heroes and join his side, and forced his home world's (admittedly more inept) denizens to undergo the same makeover he received over the course of a few weeks of planet-wide conquest. Following a failed attempt to subjugate the true "Archie" Dimension into his grand kingdom and/or toy (along with a short stay at an inter-dimensional prison), Scourge has since rejoined Fiona and the Destructix to play a part in Finitevus' own multiversal takeover plan.

* TheChewToy: Second only to Dingo in suffering the most misfortune in the group-- he's forced to deal with having ''[[AbhorrentAdmirer Rosy]]'' as his only partner in defeating Sonic Prime, his boasts about conquering his planet and hopefully the rest of the multiverse aren't taken seriously, and when he tries to talk tough to other villains [[LaserGuidedKarma all he gets is his just deserts]].
* DirtyCoward: One of the major reasons Eggman got him onboard was because he was all the might of Sonic without any of his morals... ''or'' the unshakable bravado, meaning he can be easily controlled through a sufficient enough threat.

* FeetOfClay: Subverted; He puts on a big show of being one of the strongest guys around, but pretty much ''everyone'' around him knows he's ''all'' show, with nothing to say for himself beyond the raw physical prowess he has compared to Sonic.

* TheDreaded: Even Scourge doesn't like dealing with her, his first instinct upon being in the same room with her is to '''RUN'''.

* SanityBall: Ironically, being AxCrazy doesn't stop from seeing that it's a bad idea to ignore to BrainwashedAndCrazy idiots.

In the dimension he comes from (The Archie Comics Dimension), Naugus is a cunning & manipulative troll who hails from the Order of Ixis, a legion of wizards who ruled over the city of Mobotropolis. (Now currently ruled by one of this Sonic's childhood friends, Sally Acorn.) After a long brutal war, most wizards of the Order were wiped out, leaving Naugus & his sister Wendy as the last of the Order's living lineage. While Wendy fled to create her own legion of bandits & magic wielders, Naugus stayed & acted as a royal servant to the land of Mobotropolis' new rulers. He was soon banished to another dimension (known as the Special Zone to many.) after betraying Sally's father, King Max. All that time spent in the Special Zone gave Naugus time to strengthen his magic abilities. He later escaped stronger than ever with a hunger for the title of Mobotropolis' true ruler.

Over the years, however, Naugus has become a master of the elements. Magical spells & attacks based on Earth, Wind, Fire & Water are plentiful in his arsenal.

* ElementalPowers: He has power over Earth, Wind, Fire and Water, as well as Crystal.

* FirstNameBasis: At one point, he refers to Eggman as "Ivo."

Sleet isn't exactly used to working under the jurisdiction of a higher-up when it comes to jobs as a bounty hunter. Usually, he's taking the roll of top-dog amongst his peers. Being under the watch of Robotnik, however, revealed a layer of cowardice even he didn't know he had!

The brawn to Sleet the Hunter's brains, Dingo was tasked by the Dr. Robotnik of their dimension to capture the royal hedgehog triplets (Sonic & his siblings, Manic & Sonia. Yes they're royalty in this timeline.) and bring them back to Robotnik to turn them into mechanical slaves.

The countless casualties of his men & his unwavering desire to keep fighting, led to him using he & his soldiers' new bodies to strip their home planet of it's life source (known as a 'Planet Egg' amongst his species). The females within Lucas' species hated the idea from the start, including Lucas' family; His wife Earthia, along with his daughters Galaxia & Cosmo, who ordered a nuclear strike on Lucas & his men for their betrayal & corrupted new forms.

Lucas & his men survived, however, & with most of his species & homeworld dead (save for his daughter Cosmo, who escaped during the planet's destruction), he took on the name of Dark Oak (based on his skin color prior to the transformation), named the last of his army the Metarex, & vowed to strip the galaxy of all non plant life. With a galaxy devoid of humans[=/=]humanoids, Dark Oak's twisted version of peace can finally be achieved. Free of war. Free of destruction.

The process behind his Forestation Project is terrifying. Locating the source of the planet's energy, he uproots it, leaving all organic life to die until he can use Chaos Energy to create an endless sea of forests overtop. If any non-plant organics are still alive after stealing the Planet Egg, the Chaos Emeralds' magic will fuse the bodies of any human/ humanoid into the ever growing plantlife, leaving said bodies as withering husks for nature to take over.

However, it's implied that he took the easy way out in that the denizens of his own world lacked the same kind of bravery and fighting spirit seen in Sonic's world, hence why the other villains don't view his takeover as a big accomplishment and see him as just a [[SmallNameBigEgo showboater]] at the end of the day.

* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: While he has no less of a [[AGodAmI god complex]], X seems to be more of a mid-to-high-functioning sociopath compared to the outright psychopath has was in the source material, as shown by his more [[FauxAffablyEvil soft-spoken and casual demeanor]] and desire to play the long game through sabotage and trickery, especially compared to the more ravenous and openly AxCrazy Super Sonic.

* VillainousRespect: Eggman praises Movie Sonic for his DestructiveSaviour antics at the start of the [[Film/SonicTheHedgehog2 second movie]], as well as his skills in knocking out the bank robbers. Of course, he also responds with disappointment when he manages to avoid killing a pedestrian.

The sly & sniveling leader of the bounty-hunting duo hired by Dr. Robotnik to capture Prince Sonic & Prince Manic & Princess Sonia, the children of former ruler of the planet Mobius, Queen Aleena.

Fear aside, Sleet is the most competent of the duo, often the one coming up with plans to trap the hedgehogs. He feels like his talent of trap-making gets wasted by having Dingo as a partner, though. Sleet'll build a trap/plan, & Dingo'll clumsily ruin it. This often gives Sleet the desire to completely ditch Dingo & nab the bounty for himself, though his hidden appreciation for the big lug keeps him sticking around. It also helps that Dingo makes him feel even smarter just by existing beside him.

Now Dingo may have incredible strength & a scary-looking mug, but he can't seem to escape his dog-like innocence and simple-minded nature. He's not very bright, but like many dogs, he's immensely loyal to his masters & partners, namely Dr. Robotnik & Sleet in this instance. This is unfortunate, because those two couldn't give a darn about him, & often like to use him for all the dirty work.

All that shapeshifting has left an impact on his body, however. So much so that when in contact with a large amount of Chaos Energy, he transforms into a corrupt abomination, capable of destroying anything in his path.
