It's also {{deconstructed|trope}}; Uzume is forced by Higa to do dirty work because he threatens to stop treating Chiho's illness at his family's hospital. [[spoiler:In the finale, Chiho's condition is cured by MBI and now can be with Uzume in perfect health.]]

* TransgenderFetishization: Homura identifies as male, but that doesn't stop the manga from showing the audience his breasts nearly as frequently as those of the actual girls.

* CantLiveWithThemCantLiveWithoutThem: Since most of his Sekirei sleep in his room initially, Minato got scolded by Miya almost every morning when she caught them all together in his bed. Eventually, Miya gives all of Minato's Sekirei separate rooms to solve the problem. Ironically, even though his Sekirei made it hard for him to sleep with all their snuggling, Minato actually misses sleeping with them because he finds it even harder to sleep without them.

The Ashikabi of the North, and the main protagonist of the story. He has failed college entrance exams twice, due to his inability to deal with pressure. As a result, he's considered as an idiot and a loser. His life changes immensely when he first meets Musubi and becomes her Ashikabi. As he gains more Sekirei over the course of the story due to his kind heart, he becomes a pivotal and powerful player in the Sekirei Plan.

* NonActionGuy: He has no fighting ability, and spends most of the early series leaving the action to his Sekirei. Later on, he graduates into being something of an ActionSurvivor, as while he still does almost no fighting on his own, he becomes much more active on the battlefield when supporting his Sekirei.

* BattleHarem: The six Sekirei in Minato's harem not only fight other Sekirei to protect him, but also fighting among themselves for his love and attention, mostly for comedic effect. Still, Minato loves everyone in his harem.

* BuxomBeautyStandard: While most Sekirei are fairly endowed, the girls in Minato's harem (minus Kusano) are ''stacked''. And they are proud of it. And Minato knows [[ThanksForTheMammary better than anyone]]. Many who commented on his girls comment how lucky a man he is.

* YouAreNumberSix: Their Sekirei numbers are the following: Musubi is #88, Kusano is #108, Matsu is #02, Tsukiumi is #09, Kazehana is #03 and Homura is #06.

Unlike most examples who are reclusive from society and other people due to their own choice, Matsu is actually {{justified|trope}} due to her stealing data from MBI so she has to hide herself from the world to avoid capture.

* NakedFirstImpression: Minato meets her for the first time in the bath when she's wearing nothing but a bath towel...that falls off to see her completely naked and nearly get a nosebleed.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: [[spoiler:She referred to as the Queen of the Sekirei, but that title doesn't refer to her being a ruler; she's the absolute most powerful of the 108 Sekirei and almost comparable to their goddess.]]

* CatchPhrase: "(Insert phrase)...is forbidden at the Izumo Inn."

* BoobsOfSteel: All of them are some of the most powerful fighters in the series, 4 of the 6 even being single numbers and 2 being former Disciplinary Squad members. Naturally, excluding Kusano, they are the bustiest fighters in the series. Even Homura (much to his annoyance) has a sizeable bust due to his complicated body.

* BoobsOfSteel: A power-type Sekirei with super strength, and a big deal is made of her enormous chest.

* CuteBruiser: Cute as a button with BoobsOfSteel and a tendency to solve problems by smashing them with her fists.

* BoobsOfSteel: She's the most powerful Sekirei under Minato and has the largest bust of all the girls in the series.

* EarthyBarefootCharacter: She walks around barefoot to show her close connection to nature due to her GreenThumb powers.

* ClingyJealousGirl: She is the only one in Minato's harem who is bothered by him having so many Sekirei. Although, she would begrudgingly accept Minato having concubines as long as she gets to be the TopWife. Over time, she comes to (reluctantly) accept all the harem loves him and wish to be with him forever as a family.

* EntitledToHaveYou: When she first joins the harem, she refuses to accept the rest of the girls as potential wives for Minato and believes she ''alone'' is the only one who deserves to be his wife. Musubi and Kusano call her out on that. After Musubi is nearly terminated, she moves past this and starts to care for the other girls in the harem.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's cold, blunt, and a huge {{Tsundere}} with overly violent tendencies, but is a noble and honest woman at heart, loves Minato dearly, and gradually grows to care greatly for the rest of the girls in his harem despite wanting him all to herself.

* PitbullDatesPuppy: Tsukiumi has this dynamic with the meek Minato, being the most HotBlooded and violent of his harem. This actually causes some conflict early on as Tsukiumi thinks Minato is too soft for helping weaker participants of the Sekirei Plan.

* {{Tsundere}}: Harsh type. She's aloof, short-tempered, and extremely prideful to the point she ''threatens to kill Minato'' in their first meeting. After she falls for Minato, she shows more of her warmer and loving side although she never completely loses her abrasive nature.

* TearsOfJoy: [[spoiler: When reunited with Chiho, Uzume starts crying from happiness of seeing her Ashikabi again even though she can't remember her yet.]]

* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: A soft, light golden brown.

* SatelliteLoveInterest: The only things known about her is that she's a cute ill girl and Uzume's Ashikabi/girlfriend. It makes a bit of sense as Chiho had no family nor friends in her life before she met Uzume.

* TearsOfJoy: [[spoiler: She can't hold back the tears when reunited with Uzume in the final chapters.]]

* {{Bishonen}}: He's a slender, boyishly-handsome young man, though unlike some of the other Ashikabi, his feminine looks emphasize his own apparent weakness rather than his attractiveness. Regardless, everyone in his harem find him handsome.

* VowOfCelibacy: Minato has a harem of beautiful girls who all want to have sex with him very much, but their landlady Miya forbids sexual relationships at her inn and Minato respects Miya's rules.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: She's barefoot most of the time. Although, she does wear sandals when going outside sometimes.

* FourElementEnsemble: There are four elemental-type Sekirei in Minato's harem, each controlling one of the four primary elements of water (Tsukiumi), wind (Kazehana), fire (Homura/Kagari), and earth/plants (Kusano).
