His arrogance ultimately leads him to view Bakugo, Kirishima and Kaminari as beneath him, causing him to underestimate him and be eliminated from the Licensing Exam. Unfortunately, it's heavily implied that he didn't learn his lesson and is still viewing others as beneath him in spite of his own failures.

* AnimalMotifs: The kids he's tasked to discipline along with Todoroki, Camie and Bakugo all refer to him as a gorilla, mostly due to his height and massive build.

* TheBigGuy: His height is exceptional for a Japanese man (a full 6'3/190 cm) and he towers over most people he meets as a consequence. Due to his particularly powerful quirk and muscular figure, he's also one of the physically strongest students in the License Exam, even stronger than ''Shoto'' himself.

* BoisterousBruiser: He is conspicuously muscular and wields a powerful elemental quirk, on par with Todoroki himself. Overly enthusiastic personality, big mouth, imposing presence, big heart.

* BrutalHonesty: After seemingly patching things up with Shoto Todoroki in the fallout from the Provisional Hero License Exam, he admits that while he is sorry [[spoiler:he ruined things for both of them]], [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome nothing has changed, and he still doesn't like him]]. However, he does apologize for that being the case, too.

* FatalFlaw: Holding onto a grudge from the past made him act petty to Shoto and refused to cooperate with him even with Villains in front of him. This ultimately cost him passing the exam. Thankfully, he realizes his mistake and apologizes for his behavior.

* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: Granted he has every right to hate Shoto and his father given the both were jerks to him when he first met and he was just trying to be nice to the two, but that does not give him the right to be rude and petty to Shoto ''during the exam'' refusing to cooporate with him and nearly get Shindo seriously wounded in the process by his pettiness. Deku even calls him out on this after saving the latter.
* GentleGiant: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. Inasa is very approachable, enthusiastic and friendly, letting the little kids he's tasked with climbing him up and playing with him. However, he's always ready for a good fight and never hesitates to make full use of his powerful quirk.

* HypocrisyNod: He hates both Shoto and his father for having cold eyes and believing they are not real heroes yet he would look at Shoto with such cold eyes because of his hatred of him. Getting the both of them incapacitated in front of Gang Orca due to a petty fight with Shoto causes him to realize how hypocritical he was behaving and he became what he hated the most. After failing the exam, Inasa acknowledges his mistakes and apologizes to Shoto.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Implied, as well as a variation. Inasa is overly friendly and jovial and is consistently depicted as trying to connect with other heroes-in-training and other people in general to the point of being dorkly.

* JerkassToOne: He is jovial, upbeat, passionate about heroics and a NiceGuy to almost everyone... except for Shoto Todoroki. In the past, he tried asking Todoroki's father, Endeavor, for an autograph, only to be coldly rebuffed and told to "stay out of [his] way". He tried being nice with Todoroki, but was rebuffed and told the same thing. This cold attitude flies in the face of everything he believes a hero should be. As a result, Todoroki's the only student at the provisional hero license exam that Yoarashi is outright caustic towards.
* JerkassRealization: After nearly getting Shindo caught in the crosshairs by his pettiness with Shoto, Inasa is horrified that his grudge against Shoto nearly got another student seriously wounded by his wind. After failing the exam, he realizes holding a grudge costs both of them the exam and apologizes for his behavior. Following the Remedial Course, Inasa is trying to be nicer to Shoto.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: How he reacts, when Midoriya calls both him and Todoroki out on fighting against each other, rather than teaming up to actually try and pass the provisional hero license exam.

* PowerStereotypeFlip: He's a HotBlooded and boisterous wind user.

* RebuiltPedestal: By the time he and Endeavor meet again after the Internship Arc, Endeavor seemingly has changed sufficiently that he now is genuinely trying to become a proper hero and has lost his natural DeathGlare, prompting Yoarashi to think highly of him again and salute his decision to become a better hero.
* TheReveal: He hates Endeavor, who he believes to be too cold and hateful to be a hero. And this hate has since been passed to Todoroki too.

* PurpleIsPowerful: Has violet hair and is one of the most dangerous students of Shiketsu High due to how his quirk renders people utterly helpless with a single touch.

* {{Irony}}: Despite being ninja-themed, their go-to strategy when facing Todoroki is a [[HighlyVisibleNinja full-frontal assault]] and brute-force application of their Quirks - they also end up defeated when Todoroki uses [[SmokeOut stealth]] and [[NinjaLog misdirection]] to lead them into a devastating DefensiveFeintTrap.

* DidntSeeThatComing: Twice. The first time, she is taken off guard when Yaoyorozu deduces what her plan is (force her to overtax her Quirk protecting her classmates) and opts to prioritize offense over defense and take out her entire force. The second time, [[TakingYouWithMe realizing she has already lost]], she manages to separate Yaoyorozu and attempts to eliminate her--only for Shoji, Jiro and Tsuyu (who she'd thought would abandon them in order to pass) to immediately burst in and shut her down.

* JerkassHasAPoint: Shindo drops his friendly facade in front of Midoriya after Todoroki and Yoarashi ruined his attempt to [[PLayingPossum get the jump on Gang Orca]]. That said, he's understandably pissed since the duo's petty fight almost got Shindo caught in their crossfire.
