Eventually, mother and daughter are reunited after Nanoha unleashes her most comprehensive befriending to date. Thereafter, Nanoha formally adopts Vivio.

It later turns out they were set up to test the first batch of Combat Cyborgs and higher level Gadgets. The Zest in ''StrikerS'' is a clone of the original, created by Scaglietti]]. He wishes to find out why he and his subordinates were betrayed.

These twelve [[{{Cyborg}} Combat Cyborgs]] created by Jail Scaglietti serve as the QuirkyMinibossSquad. They are unique in that they do not use any of the conventional types of magic or devices at all, instead relying on their Inherent Skills and specialised equipment, which are completely unaffected by anti-magic fields. Unfortunately, most of their character development in ''StrikerS'' was relegated to supplementary manga and audio dramas. As a result, watching the anime in isolation can be quite confusing and makes them seem rather shallow.
