* TheKlutz: She always crashes into other ships, a fact that she is aware of. The real life ''Mogami'' managed to hit four IJA transports with her torpedoes and crashed into ''Mikuma'' (an incident that was admittedly Mikuma's fault; Mikuma made a wrong turn right into the part of Mogami, who was following orders correctly), the oiler ''Toa Maru'', and finally ''Nachi''. The damage from that last one (and, to be fair, the USN shooting her) resulted in Mogami being abandoned and scuttled by ''Akebono''.

Her "Hungry Wolf" nickname (as she's always hungry for victory) has been interpreted by Japanese fans to mean that she's always on the look out for men. [[AscendedFanon Poked fun of in the anime]], where Kisaragi initially mentions that she's suffered yet another failed mixer and didn't land a guy. Three episodes later this happens ''again'', where she turns an otherwise fun curry-making contest into SeriousBusiness of incredible proportions due to her belief that getting first place would prove that she ''deserves'' to get married already.
