* TheChainsOfCommanding: Len mentions he wasn't that high on the chain of command with the original Ventaran Riders, now he finds himself leading the resistance against Xaviax on Earth.

* WhipItGood: His Swing Vent.

* AdaptationalHeroism: [[spoiler:In ''Series/KamenRiderRyuki'', Onyx's counterpart Ryuga was the BigBad of TheMovie. In ''Dragon Knight'', Onyx is only evil in Kit's dreams. When Kit finally becomes him, he's still a hero.]]

* AdaptationalHeroism: While both Ren and Len starts off as an AntiHero, Len drops his AntiHero mannerism sooner than Ren. Len is also friendlier and befriends more people than Ren ever did, even if some of his friends were FireForgedFriends.

* AdaptationalHeroism: While still a villain, Incisor is mostly in for the money, had no idea about what's going on as he's more-or-less manipulated by Xaviax to join the War, and turns into a better person in the novel; unlike Scissors who is a CorruptCop and utter {{Jerkass}} that uses his Rider powers as a way to dispose of anyone who gets in his way.

* AdaptationalHeroism: As noted below, Verde was the BigBad of ''13 Riders'' movie. Camo, on the other hand, has a role more equivalent to Zolda - Torque's Japanese counterpart.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Thrust is portrayed with ''a lot'' more sympathy than his ''Ryuki'' counterpart, Gai. In addition, Brad reveals his true colors as a good guy beneath the manipulation after seeing Grant getting vented, while Jun is still among one of the biggest HateSink in the entire ''Franchise/KamenRider'' franchise.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Zig-zagged. Her counterpart Miho is more of an AntiHero in ''Ryuki'' but was still very sympathetic. Kase made it her business to butt heads with Kit before she learned to respect him.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Let's just say that his ''Ryuki'' counterpart was not a nice person.

Maya's {{Valley Girl}}ish and spunky best friend. At first tolerant of her friend's apparent UsefulNotes/ConspiracyTheories, she becomes increasingly frustrated and concerned as Maya and Trent delve into the Kamen Rider world. [[spoiler:She eventually witnesses Riders in person, which unnerves her and leaves her open to manipulation by Michelle, but she ultimately sticks by her friends even though she's still uneasy with all the weirdness.]]

Adam was one of the Ventaran Kamen Riders, but became tired of the job. [[spoiler:When a Karshian approached him and offered to release the Advent Deck's DNA lock, he jumped at the chance, only to realize too late it was Xaviax. Late in the invasion of Earth, Xaviax, running out of options, gave the reclaimed Dragon Deck back to Adam and ordered him to become a HeelFaceMole to the returning Ventaran Riders.]]

* HeelFaceMole: Xaviax blackmails him into being this to the returning Ventaran Riders.

** Kit Taylor (Dragon Knight II & Onyx) fights to save his father, just like Ren Akiyama (Knight) fought to save his girlfriend.
** Both Len (Wing Knight) and Kase (Siren I) have a direct connection to the creators of the Mirror Monsters and Advent Decks, much like Hajime Nakamura (Alternative) and Hideyuki Kagawa (Alternative Zero).

** Danny Cho (Axe) becomes a non-murderous version of Takeshi Asakura (Ouja) after his brother is vented by Kit (i.e., "vexed" Danny).

** Xaviax possessing Vic Fraiser (Wrath) due to the latter being in a coma is similar to how Miyuki Tezuka (Raia) became Rider in place of his friend after his death. Also, both Shiro Kanzaki and Xaviax created the Mirror Monsters, and Shiro became Odin at one point.

* ManipulativeBastard: He got everyone wrapped around his finger and moved to positions in his plan. He convinced the No Men to let him in on the Kamen Rider business, fooled Master Eubulon into trusting him with the Advent Decks and knew the exact way to manipulate several earth riders into returning.
* MythologyGag: [[spoiler:The way he died is similar to how Masashi Sudo/Kamen Rider Scissors is killed in ''Ryuki'', as Sudo ends up being eaten alive by Volcancer after his Scissors deck is broken into pieces by Ren's Final Vent.]]
** [[spoiler: Him gathering all the advent decks is similar to one of the [=SIC=] Hero Saga stories in ''Ryuki'', where Ouja was able to hijack all the Advent beasts into one massive Contract Monster, Genosurvivor]].
** [[spoiler: Lastly, him fighting 12 riders at once is similar to the ''13 Riders'' special of ''Ryuki'', where Shinji fights all the other riders save for Raia, Scissors, and Knight (the former two having been killed at that point, and Knight having been fatally wounded, passing on his deck to Shinji]].

** Richie Preston (Incisor) is a rich boy who was recently cast out of his family, much like Mitsuru Sano (Imperer) was.

** Brad Barret (Thrust) received some parts from both Masashi Sudo (Scissors) and Mitsuru Sano (Imperer).

** Xaviax possessing Vic Fraiser (Wrath) due to the latter being in a coma is similar to how Miyuki Tezuka (Raia) became Rider in place of his friend. Also, both Shiro Kanzaki and Xaviax created the Mirror Monsters, as Shiro became Odin at one point.

** Adam (Dragon Knight II), prior to his HeelFaceTurn, was a "dark" version of Kit, much like "Dark Shinji" (Ryuga), and had misguided morals about doing what he thought was right, much like Satoru Tojo (Tiger).

* CompositeCharacter: He received some parts of Mitsuru Sano/Kamen Rider Imperer's character, namely Sano's RefusalOfTheCall after his initial acceptance of becoming a Rider. That being said, the way it's done was different: In Sano's case, he wanted to retire altogether after he achieved his goal only to be told by Kanzaki that he will be killed by his own Contract Monsters if he didn't continue fighting. In Brad's case, he was reluctant to fight again after he discovered that he was tricked by Xaviax and he actually confronts Xaviax about it, but Xaviax told him that he still had some dirt on him and orders Brad to continue fighting for his side or he wouldn't be able to achieve his goal (or in Xaviax's own words, "vent or be vented").

* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: When [[spoiler:vented. Some riders pleaded for mercy, some were defiant. Kit claimed that he feels weird and assured Len that everything is okay before diasappering.]]

* CompositeCharacter: He received some parts of Mitsuru Sano/Kamen Rider Imperer's character, namely Sano's desire to retire from being a Kamen Rider before he was forced to continue fighting due to the circumstances. In Sano's case, it's because Kanzaki told him that he will be killed by his own Contract Monsters if he didn't continue fighting. In Brad's case, he was blackmailed by Xaviax to continue fighting for his side or he wouldn't be able to achieve his goal.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Downplayed in Danny's case. He's still a villainous Rider much like his counterpart Tojo, but Danny's actions [[spoiler:even after he became dead-set in avenging Albert]] are still far less unhinged than what Tojo had [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder commi]][[KillTheOnesYouLove tted]].

!! Chris Ramirez/Kamen Rider Sting

* CurbStompBattle: Len makes a joke out of the Chos when they attempt to ambush him. They don't even get to transform.

* {{Jerkass}}: Even more than Mitsuru/Imperer (Albert's ''Ryuki'' counterpart) at his worst. They ganged up on Kit for little to no reason even though they were ordered not to by Xaviax among other things.

* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Their respective ''Ryuki'' counterparts are not even partners in crime.

* AdaptationalWimp: Kit is not half the powerful Rider that Shinji was, as evidenced by him struggling to keep up with the other Riders and having the biggest losing record out all the Kamen Riders in the show. While both Shinji and Kit started with awful fighting skills and improved over time, Shinji struggled with the Riders because of his refusal to fight/kill them, and whenever he was pushed too far and decided to get serious in battle, he proved to be a skilled and dangerous fighter. In fact, Shinji came close to defeating several Riders, only stopped by his moral code, and even defeated Kamen Rider Ouja (the counterpart of Kamen Rider Strike, who Kit never defeated in a fight) before dying in an awesome final fight taking an entire army of mirror monsters alongside Len. While Kit had the same morals at first, he dropped them at one point in the story, and still got regularly beaten by other Riders, relying on his advent cards or the help from other Riders to get through.

* CoolBike: His [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Katana Suzuki Katana 600]], which transforms into his Dragon Cycle, the Adventcycle (a generic motorcycle for all the riders), and Dragredder transforms into one.

* EvilCostumeSwitch: Subverted with a vengeance. [[spoiler:After a series of nightmares lead him to believe that Onyx is some kind of dark force threatening to possess him, Kit takes up the mantle of Onyx while ''Adam'' uses the Dragon Knight armor until the end of the series.]] Oddly enough, [[spoiler:Chance and Price state that all the Riders have those nightmares because it's actually the ''ADVENT BEAST'' trying to take over the Rider it's bonded with!!]]
