** Maku served to demonstrate the power the main cast had gained after the Beast Power Blossom [[spoiler: even though he fed on the power of the Kensei]]. Rio managed to match him blow for blow without using using his fighting form. While he initially has the upper hand on the Gekirangers, when Jan shows up, the fight turns against him. As a giant, Maku manages to eventualy match [=SaiDaiOh=], just to die when it combines with Geki Fire.

* BadBoss: Maku, which is why even Kata and Rageku didn't want him back. The first thing he does after being revived is assult them both.

* BullyingADragon: [[spoiler: Retroactivily it's revealed Maku attacking Long, while fully aware of his identity, was this. Maku was strong, but Long is an entirely defeat league, and could have killed him right then and there.]]

** Maku's treatment of Rio. Taking back leadership of Rin Juken because Maku was stronger was in line with their beliefs, Rio even accepted it. But Maku saw him as worthless and continously focused on trying to prove his superiority over Rio, not carrying that Rio could be a valuable underling.

* FightingWithChucks: Hilariously enough, they look like linked sausages with a hook on each end.

* {{Expy}} : A boy raised in a Jungle after a powerful BigBad kills his parents eventually becomes a RookieRedRanger of and animal themed team of Rangers that is led by the Yellow Ranger. This is strikingly similar to Cole Evans from Power Rangers Wild Force.

* TeamMom: Whenever Jan and Retsu's personality clash,she's the one that defuses their argument.

* TinkleInTheEye: Ran winds up babysitting both her teammates when they are de-aged to a kid and a baby — one of them pees into her face, and gets teased about it well after he's back to normal.

** [[spoiler: When he the Destruction God and lost his mind, he dished out one to Saidaioh, and was only stopped thanks to Mele snapping him back to normal.]]

* BigBadWannabe: Maku. He's one of the most feared beings alive for a very good reason, but the real BigBad is right under his nose, smirking at him. After the [-SaiDain=]'s Beast Power Blossom, Rio is clearly more powerful than him by Maku is too arrogant to admit, and Rio is content to allow the Gekirangers to destroy him. [[spoiler:And it's later revealed he was nothing more than another pawn of Long's.]]

** Kata, after only barely being defeated while human sized and then inflicting a CurbStompBattle on Gekitohja and Geki Fire, is subjected to a CurbStompBattle by Saidaioh to demonstrate its power.

* DemotedToDragon: He was forced to serve under Maku after he revived him. Maku not only removed him from a position of authority, he kept him from any position of importance. But rio eventually took back power.
