* ShipTease: During the "Crushed" side quest, if she is chosen to give Ismelda relationship advice, she acknowledges that, were she not so focused on being a Magizoologist, she'd also be interested in Barnaby, and even threatens Ismelda IfYouHurtHim...

* ObliviousToLove: Ismelda is hopelessly in love with him. [[DumbMuscle Barnaby being Barnaby]] has a bit of a hard time understanding how she really feels about him.

* FreudianExcuse: Has suggested that she's been on the receiving end of abuse from Gryffindors, and that's why she's always threatening to kill them.

* PetTheDog: Wanting to use a love potion to make Barnaby love her, the player can talk her out of it, which makes her [[HeelRealization realize that it wouldn't be fair on Barnaby and eventually decides to let it go]].

* VillainousCrush: She's hopelessly in love with Barnaby who is more comfortable having her as a friend.

* TakingTheBullet: [[spoiler: Rowan dies while [[HeroicSacrifice saving Ben from Rakepick's Killing Curse]].

* SacrificialLion: A criticism of R among the player base was that they were difficult to deem a real threat when their motives were overly confusing and their methods were anemic at best. The death of Rowan -- the player's first and best friend -- immediately underscores their presence as a very real and horrific threat.

* TakingTheBullet: [[spoiler: Rowan dies while [[HeroicSacrifice saving Ben from Rakepick's Killing Curse]].]]

* AnimalBattleAura: In a timed sidequest, they find out that a Dementor is loose on school grounds, so they seek tutoring from Tonks to learn to cast the Patronus Charm. After a failure early on, they succeed in summoning a big cat, an equine, or a hare.[[note]]The general form is decided in a conversation, while the specific animal is further defined depending on your stats, meaning there are nine potential Patronuses to draw from[[/note]]

* CoolLoser: Rowan claims that neither they nor the player character is popular, but your player will almost always be leading the leaderboard and has no issues with anyone but Merula and Erika.

** If you pick her at the Celestial Ball, then pick someone else for First Date, you will get a break-up scene. Among other things, MC would say a lot of people fancy Penny, and Penny would wonder why so many people ask her out, but not MC.

* ILetGwenStacyDie: [[spoiler: During the Summer of 1986, Penny's muggle friend, Scarlet, was killed by a werewolf. Penny was too frightened to help during the incident and was left wrecked with regret. So much so, she was willing to drink a forgetfulness potion to forget about the event, perhaps even Scarlett all together.]] [[spoiler: Then in "Gathering of Old Friends" sidequest, this is subverted, as it is revealed that Scarlet not only survived but that she became a werewolf herself because of it.]]

* PowerStereotypeFlip: Of a sense. As Wizarding World describes, Potions is not for the impatient, carries a certain mystique, and Snape perfectly fits the "brooding, slow-burning personality" stereotype, while Penny is excitable, open, and cheerful.

* {{Foil}}: To Penny Haywood. They are both sweet, empathetic Hufflepuff girls, but [[spoiler: Penny is terrified of werewolves after one killed her best friend, while Chiara ''is'' a werewolf. Penny is open-hearted, gregarious, and cheerful, while Chiara is secretive, distrustful, miserable over her condition, and pushes people away to avoid hurting them. Penny also has her long, blonde hair in elaborate braids, and is overall more classically feminine, while Chiara has fairly short and loose white hair that is not done in any way and has a punkish vibe. Penny is a Quidditch fanatic, while it is heavily implied Chiara doesn't like it at all (as seen in the Courtyard date).]]
** Speaking of sweetness, [[spoiler: depending on your choice, either Chiara or Penny could be the one to send MC a love note with a sugar quill in the Festival Fun side quest. The contrast also extends into romance: Penny is confident and forthcoming, and mentions that lots of people ask her out, while Chiara is awkward, insecure, and inexperienced.]]
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: If the player upgrades the Sphinx Clubroom enough, Chiara will be seen stargazing, despite the fact that a full moon is clearly visible in the sky. She also attends Astronomy class, also when the moon is full.

* TragicDream: [[spoiler: Chiara wishes to become a Healer. Her being a werewolf would be DreamCrushingHandicap, with Lupin in the main books demonstrating how nearly impossible it is for werewolves to keep any normal job at all, and especially for her as she would be in charge of particularly vulnerable people working in a hospital.]]

A mysterious Ravenclaw student, who joins up with the player character in the third year. Seems to have a history with Merula.

* SitcomArchNemesis: Towards MC in the two Prefect quests due to her attitude on rules.

* TheAce: Deconstructed. Turns out, André is such a skilled Quidditch player, other students have become enemies with him out of jealousy.

* SharpDressedMan: André is a clothes horse and is considered one of the most fashionably-dressed students at Hogwarts. After introducing himself to the player, André gives them some new clothes. He also wears a Pride of Portree scarf at all times.

* AbusiveParents: It’s bad enough having imprisoned Death Eaters as parents, and an aunt that seldomly shows up whenever Merula comes back during summer breaks. [[spoiler: But things goes FromBadToWorse when it’s revealed that said aunt is actually “R”’s The Director and that during the summer before the sixth year, she tricked Merula into make the Unbreakable Vow, forcing her to “stay loyal to her true family” in exchange for the strength to defeat Rakepick, without telling her her true identity until it was too late.]]

* SinsOfOurFathers: After her parents are locked up in Azkaban, young Merula lived alone in an empty house, where victims of Death Eaters send threats to; she rarely leaves the house as a result.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Merula's extreme narcissism makes her believe she is the number one student at Hogwarts, despite the fact she has little to no friends, lies near the very bottom of the Hogwarts house points poll, and is disliked by almost everyone.

* TokenGoodTeammate: For Merula's gang, until he joins the player.

* EvilerThanThou: She pushes Merula towards being more evil or actually harming the player characters. In one such instance, Ismelda recommended torturing the player character and his friends to ascertain what they knew about the cursed vaults, causing Merula to angrily retort that [[EvenEvilHasStandards "talking to [them] was torture" enough and that she "has some serious issues"]].

* BigManOnCampus: Or Girl, depending on their gender. As time drags on and you build up your reputation. By year three, if you play your cards right, you'll sit at the top of a social group that includes some of the most popular boys and girls at Hogwarts (including a prefect), be famous for your exploits standing up to [[TheDreaded Merula]] and diving into the Cursed Vaults, and have humbled many of the brightest students in your grade, even beating a few prefects in duels.

** Since the player chooses their actions, they can either be a HumbleHero, or a SmugSuper like James Potter.

* {{Determinator}}: Whatever else they are like, they are very persistent at solving the mystery surrounding their brother and the Cursed Vaults.

* DisproportionateRetribution: While it was clear that Rakepick ''needed'' to be brought to justice for what she's done, trapping her Sunken Vault forever was pretty ruthless. Rakepick will suffer a FateWorseThanDeath where she will be [[AndIMustScream mentally tortured]] until she does die. Assuming Rakepick is actually able to eventually escape, she will be mentally scarred forever, maybe even [[SanitySlippage driven to insanity]], and likely ''never'' recover. Justice was certainly paid back ''and then'' some.
** Completely subverted if the Player chooses to turn her in to the Ministry.
*** [[MortonsFork Granted]], this being Wizarding Britain, and considering what Rakepick has done (including using an Unforgivable Curse on a student), handing her over to the Ministry will likely simply result in her being sent to Azkaban, where, ironically, she'll suffer ''almost the exact same fate'', except at the hand of the dementors instead of the Sunken Vault.

* DrivenToMadness: Seems to be one of their greatest fears, which stems from the fact this might've been the fate that befell their older brother Jacob. In the Sunken Vault, one of their worst memories is Rakepick accusing them of being just as obsessive of the Cursed Vaults as she and 'R' was.

* ExtracurricularEnthusiast: Accept all the various offers and sidequests that the Hogwarts staff and student body present to you, and you'll be swimming in classes and activities. More open up with each new year, to boot.
* FailedASpotCheck: Depending on your gender and House, the player has somehow never met or even heard of people who they have shared a room with for either most of the year or multiple years. Male Gryffindor players somehow mistake Jae for a Hufflepuff and female Ravenclaws have never even ''heard of'' Badeea (nor she, you), despite sharing dorms with them for ''four years'' by that point. This also applies to male Slytherin players with Barnaby in Year 3, female Slytherins with Liz, and more. The only type of players who don’t experience this are female Gryffindors, as there are no notable female Gryffindors besides Angelica. [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] in the case of female Hufflepuffs, since the only other female Hufflepuff that the player demonstrates no prior knowledge of is Chiara, who even then the player can meet during their first year.

** Toward the end of Year 6, you have the option of exacting revenge on Patricia Rakepick by locking her in a cursed vault, reliving her most traumatising memories forever. The player seems quite content with this decision, even after they hear her screams of agony.

* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Can be played this way. The Player accomplished these amazing feats, was always a reliable friend, and saved many people, though they don't seem to realize how popular they really are and through some dialogue choices, completely talk themselves down. They also may blame themselves for almost ''every'' single bad thing that happens at Hogwarts remotely related to the Cursed Vaults and 'R', even things that are way out of their control.

* IJustWantToBeNormal: Can be played like this. Multiple times, the Player can express that sometimes they wish for a normal life and many Professors, especially Snape and Dumbledore, try to insist they try to behave like a normal student (but the plot kinda makes it hard to).

* ItSucksToBeTheChosenOne: They were never TheChosenOne like Harry Potter was, but they were chosen by the evil cabal, 'R' as their 'leader'. Because of them being targeted this way, their best friend was killed, among a whole host of other pain and suffering. Jacob even says that the Player will never ''truly'' be safe until every single last member of 'R' is dealt with.

** By the end of their first year, they know that expulsion is incredibly likely, given everything they've done on school grounds (and Snape is gunning for it); only Dumbledore's decision not to punish them keeps them at Hogwarts.
** During the sidequest to become a Prefect in Year 4, your frequent rule-breaking is brought up often; Flitwick says that he hopes your other accomplishments will override your reputation, and that accepting the position would put you back on the straight and narrow.

* LivingLieDetector: Dumbledore and Snape reveal in Year 5 that both the Player and Jacob are both Legilimens, and Snape tutored them briefly in both Legilimency and Occulemency.

* MasterActor: Seem to be a pretty good actor. They were casted as the lead role in the sidequest ''Enchanted Kiss'' and performed it solo in the finale with glowing reviews. They were able to perfectly copy Rakepick's personality to infiltrate a meeting with 'R'.
* MindRape: A mild example. When it's revealed that the main character is a very vulnerable Legilimens, Snape forcefully pokes around in their mind and roots through their memories to train them in the art of Occlumency. Snape warns them that they are in danger of this if they don't defend try their mind.

* NiceToTheWaiter: The house elf you ask about the Marauders is very touched that you thanked him for the information. There are also multiple times the Player can be nice to Pitts.

* OlderThanTheyLook: Due to the fact that their character model doesn't change much, the Player is about the same height as they were in Year 1, age 11-12, despite being in Year 7, where they would roughly be age 17-18.

** Becomes quite literal in Year 7 where [[spoiler:the leader of 'R', Peregrine, is revealed to be them and Jacob's father, who had left the family at age three]].

** They also have this dynamic with Jacob, best seen in Year 7 as they matured. According to [[spoiler:Peregrine, their father,]] the player has always been who thinks ahead (like their mother) while Jacob has always been more explosive and emotional.

** In a moment of anger, Charlie blames the Player for being a DoomMagnet and putting his brothers in danger, even though none of what was happening was really their fault.

** They are also the only one among their friends to know that Chiara is a werewolf and that Talbott is an animagus.

** This trope becomes literal in Year 7 when it is revealed [[spoiler:the leader of 'R' is their father, Peregrine.]]
* TeenGenius: Beats upperclassmen in duels, sits at the top of their class, and undeniably talented.
** They picked up Wandless magic in record time to duel Merula. While nowhere near as proficient as she is, the fact that the picked it up incredibly fast in that amount of time is impressive in itself.
* TookALevelInCynic: While not as intense as Ben took his, after Rakepick's betrayal, Rowan noted that the Player has become way more suspicious of everyone and seemed to have diffculty trusting people.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: They are, believe it or not. Every time they tamper they open one of the cursed vaults, another curse is unleashed the following year putting the student body of Hogwarts in danger.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: With regards to the true identity of "R". They are persistently suspicious of Ben being the main culprit, and attack the Player Character in Year 5. What enforces the ambiguity is that Madam Pomfrey believes the attack was a case of BrainWashedAndCrazy, and Rakepick admits that while Rowan is a person of interest, they are not their prime suspect. Though turns out they had always been the Player's friend and their death proved that.

* DemotedToExtra: Rowan gradually started being less prominent in the story when Year 3 began, mostly due to newcomers like Barnaby, Tonks, Tulip, Charlie and Andre being introduced and playing bigger roles. They haven't been phased out completely and returned briefly as a bigger character in Year 6, only to be killed off soon after.

* HeterosexualLifePartners: With the PlayerCharacter, which [[spoiler: may or may not be falling apart, starting during the Perfect quest if you choose not to tell Rowan you’re gunning for Prefect, and gets heated in chapter 12 of 5th year when Rowan accuses the player of only talking to their friends when they need something and the Player can clap back about what a poor witch/wizard Rowan is]]. It’s the first real time this happens.

* ThrowTheDogABone: Rowan is finally able to play the part as one of the youngest Professors at Hogwarts during the History of Magic classes, mostly when Professor Binns is too tired to teach anything.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: A possible interpretation for his reveal as [[spoiler: the red-cloaked figure who threatened the Player Character to stay away from the vaults, the forbidden forest, and Patricia Rakepick.]] Once the charm is dispelled, Ben claims to not remember anything and that he would never want to hurt his friends.

* FishOutOfWater: As a muggle-born wizard, Ben struggles to adapt to his new life at Hogwarts and is very insecure of himself.
* {{Foil}}: To Hermione Granger. Both of them were born in muggle families. But while Hermione excelled in practically every aspect in witchcraft and wizardry, Ben's personal fear of almost anything keeps him from reaching his full potential.

* OfficialCouple: As revealed in the Valentine's Day Masquerade that he has a crush on Ismelda and was able to ask her out as his date for the celebration.

* UndyingLoyalty: To the Player Character, whom he calls his favourite classmate. In a letter the player finds in Year 6, which he had written in Year 5 before entering the Cursed Vault, the letter admits that they had always admired the player and that they were an inspiration to him. Later on, Ben tells the player that now that Rowan was gone, the two were the oldest friends.

* BigSisterInstinct: She is very protective of her younger sister Beatrice, and is reluctant on letting her join her friends in uncovering the Cursed Vaults. [[spoiler: She is also distraught upon the discovery of her little sister being trapped inside a painting in the Grand Staircase.]]

* BreakTheCutie: [[spoiler:Having your little sister trapped in a portrait with the possibility of never escaping will do that to a person.]] Penny is so overwhelmed with grief, and dedicates almost every waking hour to saving her sister, that she falls behind in her classes and loses contact with her friends.
** In year 6, [[spoiler: Penny became estranged from Beatrice, and then Rowan is killed by Rakepick, and Penny takes both ''very'' badly. She's seen sobbing in almost every other scene she's in. However, [[EarnYourHappyEnding she did manage to make up with Beatrice eventually, and helping the gang stop Rakepick once and for all seems to help her pull herself togeter.]]]]
* CantHoldHisLiquor: Gets drunk to the point of not recollecting things on butterbeer, which is generally stated to have a very low alcohol content.

* NiceGirl: Is almost unfailingly nice and pleasant, which explains her popularity as well as her placement in Hufflepuff.

A Hufflepuff who enjoys duelling, considered by many to be the best at the school. Both Merula and the player character receive tutoring from him.

* AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler: From her introduction, it is implied Tulip will betray her friends to get ahead in finding the vaults. More players began to suspect that will come back to bite MC after year 6 chapter 39, in which she somehow collected every comb in the castle, preventing MC from finding one to give to the Merqueen as a tribute to find the last vault. (See the bottom of the [[WMG/HarryPotterHogwartsMystery WMG]] page for more wild theories.)]]
* AsianAndNerdy: Is in Ravenclaw, and her name implies either Turkish or Japanese ancestry.
* BestialityIsDepraved: In a similar vein of implication to [[Characters/HarryPotterOrderOfThePhoenixMembers Aberforth]] in the books. Tulip is portrayed as a little ''too'' attached to her toad, Dennis. During Valentine's Day, she says her love note "could be" for Dennis, and in the Head Boy/Girl side quest, she's trying to transfigure Dennis into a prince after reading the Muggle fairy tale.

* DreadfulMusician: According to Tulip, she's such a horrendous singer, she's been banned from singing in the shower.

* ThePrankster: While not on such a large scale as Tonks, Tulip enjoys pulling pranks involving Dungbombs and Stink pellets. In fact, her EstablishingCharacterMoment involves her having the PlayerCharacter defuse a dung bomb strapped to the back of her pet toad to test their tenacity.

* WeUsedToBeFriends: [[spoiler: Was once Merula's best and only friend, before she betrayed her.]]

* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler: His family was attacked by Death Eaters in the war. He escaped due to being an unregistered Animagus but his parents were both killed.]]

* MeaningfulName: Winger. [[spoiler: Take a guess on what his animagus form is.]]

* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler: Professor [=McGonagall=] knows about his unregistered status and is pressuring him to rectify it, but hasn't taken any steps, herself, due to sympathising with his fear.]]

* AmbiguouslyEvil: Starting at the end of Year 6, when it's revealed [[spoiler: she had joined R for reasons unknown, the same one who supposedly killed Rowan and caused all the pain and suffering at Hogwarts. Her motivations to joining R become the new driving point of the plot now that the Cursed Vaults are closed]].

** Ismelda recommends torturing the player and their friends which causes Merula to angrily tell her that she has some real issues, showcasing that Merula is unwilling to stoop to torture.
** After learning Talbott's secret as an unregistered animagus, she promises to keep it a secret, claiming that while she may be a bit of a bully, she would not wish to ruin a person's entire life.

* FaceHeelTurn: Not that she was a great person to begin with, but most of her antagonism was just schoolyard rivalry and a desire to be the best. [[spoiler:Then Chapter 45 of year 6 sees her allying with "R".]]

* SecretRelationship: Uniquely among all the MC's classmates, Merula has a romance gauge, but no friendship meter to pair it with, and on the first time the Player would date her in Hagrid's garden and the courtyard, it's stated by Merula herself to happen in complete secrecy, implying this about their whole relationship. It also underscores her tsundere tendencies.

* TeenGenius: Many characters in-game find her loathsome but still acknowledge her talent at magic. It's probably the only reason why she gets away with so much, despite being as unpleasant as possible to everyone around her.

* AmbiguouslyBi: During the sidequest, "Crushing", Barnaby thanks the player character for always doing nice things for him and admits to liking them, regardless of their gender, and is quite flustered whilst admitting it. He is also a possible Celestial Ball date for characters of either gender.

* BruiserWithASoftCentre: He may be physically intimidating and very passionate about fighting and duelling, but his favourite class is Care of Magical Creatures and he has a fondness for the cute ones.

* {{Expy}}: His personality and buff appearance isn’t too far off from [[WesternAnimation/SonicBoom Sonic Boom’s version of Knuckles]].

* HeelRealization: One of the options that's open to the player character is trying to get him to do this. [[spoiler:He does eventually get sick of Merula's taunting and agrees to befriend the player.]]

* EnemyMine: With the Player Character during the "Crushing" sidequest.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Downplayed. It's not that Ismelda doesn't ''know'' how to be nice. She's just terrible at it, to the point she can't say "thank you" or smile without thinking of something that isn't a curse.

* FoeRomanceSubtext: As mentioned in the quote in SuspiciouslySpecificDenial, it's obvious that she's attracted to Barnaby despite him leaving her and Merula. This is later confirmed during the sidequest, "Crushing", where the Player character and Penny help her confront her feelings for him.

* SoapboxSadie: According to pop-up dialogue she has berated Flitwick for using fairies as decoration[[note]]According to Flitwick when decorating for Christmas[[/note]], refuses to eat meat[[note]]According to a line in History of Magic when Peeves is “teaching”, and wishing for meat-free sandwiches in Care of Magical Creatures class while talking with the player character[[/note]], is on a hunger strike for House Elves, thinks Freezing Charms are inhumane to pixies [[note]]Heard in DADA[[/note]], and more. Almost all her lines are about some form of rights for creatures. Weirdly, she seems okay with using Fire Crabs to power a bonfire in Fiji, despite taking issue with using fairies to decorate[[note]]This may be due to the fact that Fire Crabs are ''farting'' when they let fire out of their butt... so they will have to be fed and looked after to be able to fart to power that bonfire.[[/note]]

** Pointedly refuses to allow the player to join him in his hunt for Rakepick, and is upset that the player is even trying to get at the Cursed Vaults. It was revealed that he just wants to protect them, but at the time it seemed like he could've been working for them.

* BigBrotherInstinct: While he admittedly hasn't really been the greatest brother, Jacob steps up his game as soon as he hears that his younger sibling is in danger. When their younger sibling was attacked (and unbeknowenst to him) was about to be kidnapped, he chased away the Dark Wizard. When he realized that R was targeting his younger sibling, he switched focus from Rakepick/R to protecting his little sibling. Happened again when spoiler: the player's infiltration into R went awry, he stepped in immediately and yelled at them to stay away from his little sibling.

* RedOniBlueOni: He can have this dynamic with his younger sibling, best exemplified in Year 7 if the player chooses to continually doubt [[spoiler:their father's sincerity]]. [[spoiler: Peregrine]] basically tells the younger one that they are more like their mother (who always thinks ahead) while Jacob was more explosive and emotional.

* RedOniBlueOni: He can have this dynamic with his younger sibling, best exemplified in Year 7 if the player chooses to continually doubt [[spoiler:their father's sincerity]]. [[spoiler:Peregrine]] basically tells the younger one that they are more like thier mother (who always thinks aahead) while Jacob was more explosive and emotional.

** [[spoiler:Peregrine looks like an upscaled version of him, same clothing sense and everything.]]

* HurtingHero: They are basically this for the entirety of Year 6. Hard not to see why.
** Even though they've somewhat recovered from the pain in Year 7, a whole new host of problems sends them right back into the pits.

* FashionDesigner: While not exactly a designer, he does help Ben, Rowan, and the Player Character pick out their outfits for the Celestial Ball.

* {{Determinator}}: During the duel in the forest with Rakepick, despite being hopelessly outmatched and continually knocked down by her spells, he just keeps getting back up, long after Merula and the Player Character have been taken out of the fight. Rakepick is aggravated enough by this that she tries to finally take Ben down using the Killing Curse, which [[HeroicSacrifice Rowan]] intercepts]].

* GoodAllAlong: While Ben's innocence has been in question since Year 2, he continues to claim that he knows nothing and is still loyal to his friends. This is further proven when he [[TakingTheBullet shields the player character from an incoming spell cast by the red-cloaked figure from last year, and takes down a BrainWashedAndCrazy Rowan.]]

* ContraltoOfDanger: Her VoiceGrunting is noticeably of a lower pitch than other girls.

* GenderNeutralWriting: Rowan's gender is not explicitly tied to male or female in the game. Rather, they will be male or female depending on whether the protagonist chooses to be a wizard or a witch.

* NotGoodWithRejection: What's her solution when telling Barnaby how she feels to his face doesn't work? Buy a love potion to ''force'' him to love her, of course.

* NotGoodWithPeople: Liz clearly isn't in her most comfortable zone when dealing with people and usually prefers the company of creatures.

* BerserkButton: Merula stealing her Wit-Sharpening potion and taking the credit for herself is most definitely a prime example. Not even the player character [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness can remember seeing her so angry before]].

* BerserkButton: Her imprisoned parents, which the player character is willing to push whenever she gets to be too unbearable.

* BerserkButton: Despite being a tough duelist and having a knee-jerk instinct to punch all of his problems, Barnaby actually ''hates'' it when his friends start fighting with each other. He says it's because it reminds him of his parents.

** And Rowan does fail, dying at the hands of Patricia Rakepick TakingTheBullet to save Ben from her killing curse before even graduating from Hogwarts.

* TakingTheBullet: [[spoiler: Rowan dies while [[HeroicSacrifice saving Ben from Rakepick's killing curse]].]]

* ParentalAbandonment: While both the Player and Jacob mention their mother, they ''never'' mentioned [[DisappearedDad their father]]. Even in situations where it would make more sense to mention both parents, the Player's father is absent. The only proof that there was a father is that the player sometimes says 'parents'.
** When Snape looks around in their memories, he only finds memories of the Player, Jacob, and their mother.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: With regards to the true identity of "R". They are persistently suspicious of Ben being the main culprit, and attack the Player Character in Year 5. What enforces the ambiguity is that Madam Pomfrey believes the attack was a case of BrainWashedAndCrazy, and Rakepick admits that while Rowan is a person of interest, they are not their prime suspect. Though turns out she had always been the Player's friend and their death proved that.

* PrecociousCrush: Had one on Bill Weasley for a long time. Even had a bit of a ShipTease when Bill went to hang out with her during the Celestial Ball over his former crush.

* ShipTease: A little bit, with Bill during the Celestial Ball. Not only is Rowan's confidence bolstered by Bill, who she obviously likes, When Emily Tyler tries to ask Bill out again, he declines and decides to hang out with Rowan instead.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Her lack of people skills and intense focus on and skill with animals (nearly every line of her dialogue is about animals) makes her come off as possibly being autistic.
** Expanded on during a Year 7 sidequest. Liz comes to MC with concerns that she doesn't have a lot of friends and her only hobby is magical creatures. She asks the MC to help her find a new hobby and learn how to interact with people. None of Liz's attempted hobbies work out, and she still struggles socially. However, she, the MC, and others come to understand this is who she is, and she is a worthy person who doesn't need to change.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Her very first interaction with the player character is asking them which magical creature they prefer, leaving them slightly puzzled.
