* LadyOfBlackMagic: A very skilled and elegant mage in all three magic elements, and can defend herself with knives. Not bad at all!
* MagikarpPower: {{Downplayed}} in ''Radiant Dawn'' where she is actually a solid unit handicapped by poor availability. She only appears in three levels before Chapter IV, leaving her little time to catch up quick enough without extra resources. However, if the player does invest in her, she can easily become the best magical unit in the game thanks to a good Speed growth, something most mages lack. She's often labeled the best mage in the game due to that.

* {{Nerf}}: Her returning Meteor spellbook has been brought down to roughly equal with Elfire, meaning its sole advantage is greater range. This is hampered by the fact that it still only has five uses, and making it worse is that Calill is no longer fast enough to double most enemies now.

* SwordAndSorcerer: She's a Fire Sage, her partner, Largo, is a [[TheBerserker Berserker]] with an axe.

* GlassCannon: Has a metric ton of HP, but a base defense of Ten, and a base Resistance of THREE, which makes him easy to damage. On the plus side, his high Strength and Speed, as well as his ''extremely'' high chances of achieving a Critical Hit, mean that most enemies will only get to try it once.

* BrilliantButLazy: Haar's supports and combat conversations show that he is much more aware and in tune with the world than he initially appears.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: He's kind of [[LazyBum lazy]] and [[{{Sleepyhead}} likes to take naps]], but he was one of the top dracoknights of Begnion, and he can certainly prove this prowess, especially in ''Radiant Dawn''.
* DeadpanSnarker: A bigtime example. Haar rather calmly (or [[LazyBum tiredly]]) doles out some cutting remarks:

* LightningBruiser: He's fast, powerful, and can tank a ton of hits, especially in Parts 2 and 3, although his Spd wanes a bit during Part 4. Still, there's a reason fans refer to the top-tier power group in this game as the "Haar tier."
* MightyGlacier: He becomes this during Part 4, as Haar's unable to catch up to some of the enemy units in terms of Spd. However, his incredible Str and Def growths and caps are still among the highest of all Beorc. He's also this in ''Heroes'', with good HP, Atk, and Def, and a dual phase Brave weapon to bypass his low Spd.

* FragileSpeedster: Very fast, and capable of inflicting a lot of damage, but lacking in HP and Defense.

* FragileSpeedster: Typical of a Pegasus knight, though Marcia's defences are slightly better than your average.
* GenkiGirl: Oh yes, Marcia's energy knows no bounds whatsoever.

* FriendlySniper: Painfully nervous and adorably {{Moe}} sniper.

* LetsGetDangerous: The only time she'd shed over her Makalov-gushing in ''Radiant Dawn'' is when she faces any of the Begnion senates, to which she suddenly switches into GoodIsNotNice. In case of Lekain, she reaffirms that it is a most correct choice to ditch him and she'd be more than happy to put an arrow right in his face. In case of Hetzel, she affirms that she has always stayed true to her beliefs of avoiding BlindObedience ever since she met up with Ike and refuses to bow down to Ashunera.

* NiceGirl: Regardless of her dubious taste, it is also known that Astrid is a very very sweet girl and definitely also a SpoiledSweet. After all, who else has enough patience to deal and fawn over Makalov? She's too nice for her own good.

* ProfessionalKiller: [[spoiler:He may offer his services to Ike as a Thief, but Volke's actually an infamous Assassin.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite his LackOfEmpathy, Volke utterly ''despises'' [[spoiler:Izuka]], and is willing to be hired at a hefty discount for an opportunity to kill him.

* ProfessionalKiller: He may offer his services to Ike as a Thief, but Volke's actually an infamous Assassin.

* RedBaron: In the first game, tells Ike that he can go to any bar on the ''continent'' and ask for a fireman, and Volke would show up within an ''hour.'' In the sequel, we find out what this means: Volke is known as the '''Extinguisher.'''

* SecretArt: Volke is the only unit that use [[OneHitKill Lethality]] because it is a skill learned by his personal class, Assassin.
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler:He is the only person that knew Greil's dark secret, which he will only pass on the knowledge to Ike if he's ready.]]

* TokenEvilTeammate: Bordering on the sociopathic. [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] with his [[spoiler: working for a loss to kill Izuka and save the world, [[PragmaticVillainy even though that second one might be selfish too.]]]]

Marcia's older brother. More or less obsessed with gambling and doing as little work as possible, Makalov is one of the biggest {{Jerk Ass}}es in the Crimean Liberation Force. Somehow, he ends up in a romantic relationship of sorts with Astrid in ''Radiant Dawn''.

When Ike says he has a sister, Tauroneo says he will not fight Ike as he doesn't want Greil's swordmanship to be lost to the world...which is bizarre as there are plenty of women in the game who use swords, ''including'' Mist when she promotes.[[note]]This might make a bit more sense after seeing Ike's appearances in future games. Ike is the [[ForceAndFinesse force to Marth's (and later Lucina's) finesse]] in the ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' series, and the Vanguard class is a gender-locked class in ''Fates'', with male units who take on the class taking on Ike's [[RatedMForManly impressive physique]]. Greil and [[spoiler:Zelgius]] are both shown to be quite muscular, too. It's quite possible that Greil's style relies on overwhelming strength that is simply not possible for the female body. To put it another way, Ike's personal class essentially replaced the Mercenary class line in the Tellius games, and female sword-users had, at the time, overwhelmingly been myrmidons rather than mercenaries; only in ''Awakening'' did it truly become a unisex class.[[/note]]
