* NoPronunciationGuide: It's "Tee-dus", not "Tie-dus". Since [[HelloInsertNameHere no one addresses Tidus by name during either game]], confusion is inevitable. That being said, the PAL release of the game came with a ''Beyond Final Fantasy'' DVD, which featured Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor (the English VA for Tidus) pronouncing the names as "Tee-dus", & this pronunciation is also used in both ''[[DissidiaFinalFantasy Dissidia]]'' games. The confusion mostly comes from ''KingdomHearts2'' using "Tie-dus".

** PromotionToParent: A cutscene during which Tidus talks about his mother's heartbreak when Jecht disappears indicates that despite Auron's promise to Jecht, he fears this happening because 'he wouldn't know what to do' if Tidus' mother were to die. Given Tidus' age in the flashback and the tone of Auron's voice, it's implied that around this time Auron was still recovering from Braska's pilgrimage which makes this fear of this pretty justified.

* HelloInsertNameHere: Gave some interesting problems for the ''X-2'' dubbing, which led to Tidus being the ''last'' character in a voice acted ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' game (as of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII2'') whose name could be entered by the player. ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts'' was the first game in which he's called by his name... '''and it's not even pronounced correctly'''. (See NoPronunciationGuide below.)

* ActionGirl: Makes even the White Mage class seem badass. Hell, her unique dress sphere is a giant Mech '''made entirely out of swords'''. Ironically when she was in the Crimson Squad, she wasn't an Action Girl then (just the sphere recorder) but became one afterwards.

* ArrangedMarriage: Subverted. Through a case of mistaken identity, Yuna assumes that he is the Yevonite that proposed marriage to her. [[spoiler: That was Trema]].
* TheAtoner: Sort of. He formed New Yevon in the hopes of atoning for the previous church's mistake.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Paine says as much. Leblanc's goons expect he'll be useless without an escort to do the fighting for him. Needless to say, in the boss battle he doesn't need them.

Added DiffLines:

* ChromaticArrangement: The green to Nooj's red and Gippal's blue.
* DarkSkinnedBlond: Has tanned skin and white hair.

Added DiffLines:

* PairTheSpares: The fandom often pairs him with Paine, since Nooj is officially with Leblanc. Likewise Gippal and Rikku are an implied couple. This would leave Baralai and Paine as the only two in their respective trios not paired up.

Added DiffLines:

* ChromaticArrangement: Wears a lot of red to contrast with Gippal's blue and Baralai's green.

Added DiffLines:

* BunnyEarsLawyer: He might not seem like TheSmartGuy but he's a genius when it comes to machines.

Added DiffLines:

* ImpliedLoveInterest: For Rikku, by way of saying "we made quite the couple". Rikku frequently denies that anything ever happened, but it's made clear that she feels ''something'' for him across the game.

Added DiffLines:

* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: One of the Crimson Spheres shows that he called Paine "Dr P" as well; it's one of Rikku's nicknames for her.

* CharacterDevelopment: To the point where his voice during early cutscenes, and his voice with him [[NarratorAllAlong as the narrator of his own story]], [[VocalEvolution were made to sound as different as possible in terms of maturity]].
** This is a nice thought, but sadly it's actually a result of his voice actor being given bad direction. James Arnold Taylor believed Tidus was narrating events from well into the future, and gave him a considerably older voice for those parts. It doesn't match up with the the youthful voice that Tidus uses even after the game catches up with his narration.
