* InformedAttribute: Supposedly the leader of the Heliotes, but considering the way Heliotes are OutOfFocus, he has yet to do any real leadership besides telling Tidar and Xeniloum what direction to search after Babidi teleported most participants to another planet during the Majin rebellion. Even during both of Buu's rebellions, where he should order the others around he doesn't do much. During the first one his idea to deal with Zen Buu is to use Carbonite, which Naurb quickly yells "Don't you dare!" to him, and during the second one he's just another Heliote helping with the barrier.

* TheBigGuy: The tallest and most muscular among the Heliotes.

* TokenEvilTeammate: [[spoiler:The others are surprised when he's revealed as a Majin, and unlike characters like Bardock and King Piccolo, he didn't see any perks to being controlled (As Bardock and King Piccolo liked losing their growing compassions), and unlike Bra, he showed more restraint and ''much'' less bloodlust, so it's clear he's not ''that'' bad of a guy under normal circumstances. * AllThereInTheManual: Magsuns and Phipsil haven't been named in the main comic as of 2023, and both Naurb and Nedwook didn't have their names mentioned until the Majin rebellion. It's specially noticeable with Phipsil since she became U19's representative after the Majin rebellion, and her name still isn't mentioned.

* TheGenericGuy: While U19 is one of the largest universes at the tournament in number of attendees (with eight people present), they are by far the least defined and developed in terms of characterization and design, with the [[WordofGod author himself]] mixing up their names on occasion. Their roster wasn't finalized until almost 10 years after the comic began, and even then many of them are RedShirts at best, with no apparent personality traits besides "warrior" and maybe "pragmatic". Fact that once they changed to their Ultra armors which have the same designs and same equipment did them no favors since they mostly fight the same way. There's a reason why only three of the eight have entries on this page.

There's a reason why only three of the eight have entries on this page.

* OutOfFocus: U19 as a whole gets very little focus. As pointed out in TheGenericGuy, their personalities don't stand out from each other much, outside of fights they may do [[CombatCommentator combat commentary]] (even then it only really happens when it's related to another Helior, and considering only three of them are participating on the tournament, and only Eleim reached the second round, it doesn't happen much), and they've gotten no specials around their story still (Although there was a flashback during Eleim's fight against Bra, [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-880.html#h_read but it's only one page]]). As of 2023, it's only them, U2 (Toriyama's other works and Mary Sue), U5 (XXI's universe), and U15 (I'K'L's universe) that have no specials, and U2 is a joke universe, XXI is deliberately mysterious, and I'K'L is not a participant, nor a fighter, and barely even shows up after her child was disqualified because it wasn't born yet, so the lack of specials around U19 is noticeable. This is somewhat mitigated with the novelization, where they do have their own text fanfic, but it hasn't been updated since 2018.
** One specific example of how out of focus they are is during U13 Vegeta's fight against Raichi. Despite them taking deaths more seriously than anyone [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-154.html#h_read to the point they dedicated a meal to Tidar]], [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-903.html#h_read none of them]] [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-904.html#h_read have a reaction to seeing him back and fighting for Raichi]]. ** For characters in particular, Loopwhirl and Magsuns have it worse than the rest. Tidar, Xeniloum and Elleim are participants in the tournament and had their fights, and while they and the rest of U19 didn't do much for years after the fights, eventually Phipsil and Nedwook helped during the Majin rebellion, and Naurb used the be the most frequent member after Elleim by making [[CombatCommentator combat commentary]] and [[spoiler:is the only one to have been majinized, and he gets some character development where regrets his actions so much he requests to be court-martialed]]. Loopwhirl and Magsuns haven't done anything during the story. At the very least, Loopwhirl has shown in two pages a [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-326.html#h_read very]] [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/en/page-377.html#h_read arrogant]] personality, while Magsuns has talked the least among them.

to:

* TooPowerfulToLive: Perhaps the reason why [[spoiler:three out of five Heliotes were among the first casualties during the Majin rebellion, as just Phipsil and Nedwook did a lot to turn things around before Bra showed up, such as Philpsil saving the Kaioshins from Dabura, Nedwook saving Goten from Kakarotto, and later killing King Piccolo as collateral while fighting Cell. And considering that Cell only survived when fighting Nedwook because of his healing factor, it means every Majin weaker than him, (Meaning, ''everyone'' except Bra) could be dealt with much quicker by them, which could end the rebellion earlier, or at least give them a better fighting chance against Bra.]]

* ArtificialGravity: The Ultra Armor can increase the weight of what its wearer touches. While this is something all Ultra armors should be able to do, which's why this trope is listed "in general", only Elleim has made use of it in both of his tournament fights.

It's only U4 (Buu), U5 (XXI), U7 (Gast), U11 (Babidi), U12 (Future Trunks), U14 (Androids), U17 (Cell), and U20 (Broly) that have less. If there is a cap to U19 over how many fighters are allowed to participate, perhaps the Vargas decided to do it only with them because it's one of the last universes to have been called, and they wanted one more universe to have a last fighter, but such a thing is never implied, and when talking with U18, they said they accept anybody as a fighter, so the Vargas were clearly not too worried about numbers.

After Raditz said this, it's not mentioned anymore, with neither Nappa or Vegeta talking about it afterwards, making the potent planet's existence look like just an excuse for Raditz to have a reason to go Earth to get Goku, and explain why he didn't show up earlier. DBM's novel says the planet they had to conquer was Helior, which explains why saiyans as powerful as Nappa and Vegeta could struggle with it, and why it has a high sale value, as having technology advanced enough to keep up with powerful beings is valuable.

While her on-panel debut was just a cameo, the Majin Rebellion happens not long after Gast's fight with Raichi, in which she quickly becomes one of the two U19 members who actually get to keep fighting, the other being Nedwook,[[spoiler: and she even outlives him for a bit]]. And while she doesn't do much after the Majin Rebellion, she's the one who talks with Bra after her fight with Gast over her promise to save U19, not Eleim.

Added DiffLines:

* DueToTheDead: When Tidar dies, his fellows quietly spend their next meal in silence in memory of him. This serious treatment of death foreshadows that Universe 19 has no experience with Dragon Balls, unlike the main cast of Dragon Ball.
* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: The Heliotes seen in the first few hundred pages are much more diverse and exotic in appearance, with heavier armor, visors, and faceplates, and some even carrying massive guns as weapons. Their looks become more uniform and generic when the ultra armors are introduced in the latter half of the first round.

Added DiffLines:

* TheGenericGuy: While U19 is one of the largest universes at the tournament in number of attendees (with eight people present), they are by far the least defined and developed in terms of characterization and design, with the [[WordofGod author himself]] mixing up their names on occasion. Their roster wasn't finalized until almost 10 years after the comic began, and even then many of them are RedShirts at best, with no apparent personality traits besides "warrior" and maybe "pragmatic". There's a reason why only three of the eight have entries on this page.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: U19 is one of the most openly heroic universes, as evidenced by [[spoiler:seven of their eight-person group were not corrupted by Babidi]].

Added DiffLines:

* LivingMacGuffin: U19 as a whole becomes this in the second round onward, as using a wish to save them becomes a major motivation for Goku, Vegeta, Bra, and [[spoiler:Gast, once Bra forfeits]] to win the tournament.

The leader of the Heliorians.

* DemotedToExtra: As the leader of U19, Eleim serves as the face of their universe for roughly the first half of DBM. Once Phipsil is introduced, however, she quickly takes over his role as most prominent U19 character and it is her, not him, that talks to Bra about her decision [[spoiler:to forfeit against Gast]].
* PragmaticHero: Eleim's universe gets destroyed by carbonite if he fails in the tournament, so he seeks to win by any cost, even if it means trickery, threats, or killing.
* SadisticChoice: Attempts a rare ''heroic'' example on Bra: either forfeit, get hit by Eleim's carbonite and die, or dodge his attack and let the carbonite kill the audience. Bra manages to TakeAThirdOption by offering to give Eleim her wish.
* StandardizedLeader: Eleim's the leader of U19 and will do whatever it takes to save his universe. And... that's about all there is to say about him.

* AdvertisedExtra: If a reader not familiar with DBM were to look at the chapter covers before going through the webcomic, they may assume Phipsil was a new major character introduced partway through the story. They might be surprised to learn Phipsil is a MauveShirt at best who appeared from nowhere and got one major scene before disappearing from the plot.

Added DiffLines:

* SensualSpandex: Most of the time Phipsil's fanservice potential is pretty low due to her conservative armor, but when she sheds it to fight [[spoiler:Majin Bra]], Asura is clearly enjoying drawing her in the skintight suit underneath.

* AbsurdlySharpBlade: God's Blade definitely qualifies, capable of slicing through the ring, as well as cut a Super Saiyan and critically wound a Super Saiyan 2. ''At the same time''. The ultra armor's [[FanNickname finger-laser]] used by Eleim and Xeniloum can even cut through the audience's shield.
* ApocalypseHow: Carbonite turns everything it touches into more of itself. The Heliorians accidentally unleashed it on their planet basically causing a "GreyGoo" event (apparently it can't spread by air, though...) The destruction level is planetary with physical annihilation. The Heliorians worry that an asteroid impacting the planet could start the spread of the stuff throughout the universe eventually turning all physical matter into carbonite. The only way to get rid of it for sure is to completely vaporize it (like with Buu). Needless to say, they don't have the power to completely wipe out their own planet.
* ArtificialGravity: The Ultra Armor can increase the weight of what it's wearer touches.
* AwesomeButImpractical: The Ultra Armors are amazing suits of armors that make the wearers stronger than the likes of [=SSJ3s=] but it also has a very limited battery supply. [[spoiler:Phipsil runs out of power twice during the course of the Majin rebellion.]]
* BadassNormal: In a tournament where all the other competitors are insanely powerful, these guys have the balls to compete without any special powers whatsoever.
* ChekhovsSkill: The Heliotes' armor is controlled by brainwaves... which is possibly how [[spoiler:Phipsil gets hers to shoot Bra even when she's taken it off]].
* CombatPragmatist: All of them, but especially Eleim qualify. Eleim in his fight with Bra used every trick at his disposal, and even was willing to use carbonite to win, despite the [[EndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt possible risks.]]
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Carbonite. Seeing what it did to their homeworld (and getting rid of it is the entire reason they're at the tournament), only the most desperate of circumstances justify its use in battle.
* DeflectorShields: Their armor comes with them. They are impressively powerful, able to tank shots from Super Saiyan 1 Bra and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks.
* FutureSpandex: All the Heliotes wear this under their PoweredArmor, except for Tidar.
* LaserBlade: Their ultra armors are capable of generating energy blades from their wrists for close combat.
* LetsGetDangerous: Once they saw how formidable the competition is, they decide to upgrade to their ultra armors, and don't hesitate to use carbonite if necessary.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Tidar uses a barrage of missiles against Uub, which not only home in on him but were filled with toxic chemicals.
* MauveShirt: Phipsil and Nedwook were only spectators, but by the time of the [[spoiler:Majin Rebellion]] they've received more screentime and onscreen victories than some of the U19 contestants, and have [[AscendedExtra featured prominently]] on several chapter covers. Phipsil in particular wasn't even ''introduced'' until [[https://www.dragonball-multiverse.com/image.php?comic=page&num=1331&lg=en&ext=png&pw=a30b0605421f479e6325f825c695ec9f page 1331]] but has probably had the largest role of any U19 member besides [[TheLeader Eleim]].
* MexicanStandoff: When one of their own gets [[spoiler:Majinized by Babadi]], he holds his fellow soldiers hostage. However, since he's 4 against 1, they give him one chance to back down before they all try to shoot them. It's a costly victory that ends up with 2 of their own dead, but at least that freed them up to make a stand against the other [[spoiler:Majins]].
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Their Ultra Armors are strong enough to defeat a Super Saiyan 2, and they can produce more of them. Against the strongest fighters in the tournament, however, even Super Saiyan 2s are lacking.
** Tidar went up against Uub without his Ultra Armor, and was killed until the Dragon Balls wished him back.
** Xeniloum went up against Zen Buu, who is easily a contender for being the most [[PhysicalGod powerful being in the tournament]].
** Eleim went up against U16 Bra, who has so far made it to the quarter-finals and was able to defeat King Cold (who is stated to be as strong as Perfect Cell) in her base form.
* PoweredArmor: The Heliorians use them to compensate their lack of ki abilities, and they are INCREDIBLY effective.
* RememberTheNewGuy: The U19 roster has been in flux throughout DBM's runtime, with many characters, weapon and armor designs, and even names getting changed over the years. Most of the group had been nailed down by the second round, but it was only completely finalized around the time of Gast vs. Raichi.
* SphereOfDestruction: Their Ultra Armor can make a small sphere which, when it detonates, can destroy anything weaker than a ''Super Saiyan 2''.
* TeamSpirit: It's implied the Heliorians generally win battles by working together, since Nedwook and Phipsil are [[OnlySaneMan flabbergasted]] during the [[spoiler:Majin Rebellion]] when none of their allies know any strategies besides [[LampshadeHanging "fight the bad guy 1v1 until somebody wins."]] Phipsil in particular demonstrates she's a team player when she [[spoiler:defends [[BackToBackBadasses U16 Gohan]] from Majin Bra]] and [[spoiler:comes up with a strategy to weaken Bra that involves sacrificing herself]].
* TooDumbToLive: Given what we've said about carbonite, for some reason the Heliorians still allow the stuff to be loaded into their ultra armors.

* TokenEvilTeammate: [[spoiler:The others are surprised when he's revealed as a Majin, so it's clear he's not ''that'' bad of a guy under normal circumstances. Still, he's the only member of the group with enough evil in his heart for Babidi to control.]]
