* GrumpyOldMan: She doesn't hold with this newfangled "making your own entertainment". And as Nanny Ogg notes, you REALLY don't want witches making their own entertainment.

* SmugSuper: Granny's one of if not just the strongest witches on the Disc. She knows it, they know it, and she sees no point in being humble about it or coddling their feelings. She's better'n them. End of story. Every year at the annual contests of witchcraft, she shows up and wins, no matter how much it might upset everyone else ('cept Nanny Ogg, who's fine with someone else doing the work).

Added DiffLines:

* CompulsiveLiar: Not a vicious one, but Nanny Ogg's got views on telling the truth. Namely, if it's boring, don't do it. Susan manages to force an honest answer out of her via sheer willpower.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The first time we see him in Wyrd Sisters nicely sums him up. He's playing cards with the castle's cook and happens to give a very insightful and concise definition of the word "Zen" that totally flies over the cook's head. Just as the cook starts to grow suspicious, he makes a stupid joke and then, just to be safe, loses the next several hands. Verence likes to keep his head down and avoid conflict whenever possible, but he's also far more intelligent and cunning than he seems to be at first glance.

* MoralMyopia: Subscribes to the view that it's not a crime when an Ogg does it.

TRS cleanup: sinkhole

** The strategy he concocts for Felmet - discrediting the witches through slander, gossip and a play that casts them in a bad light - is the most apocalyptic threat to the witches they've ever faced. The Fool's concocted story would have reduced all witches - past, present, and yet to come - to nothing more than mumbling wicked crones, and it came frighteningly close to succeeding. Only the Cunning Man compares, and even then, the Cunning Man is an entity that can be confronted. And Verence came up with it only to avoid Lady Felmet's preferred alternative.

Baleful Polymorph was renamed per TRS

* BalefulPolymorph: Usually averts this, on the grounds that it's much more economical and amusing to make someone think that they're a frog than to actually turn them into one. However, as the incident with Greebo demonstrates, she is capable of it, albeit only with Magrat and Nanny's help.

* PsychicPowers: Her magic mostly manifests in this fashion, and while she disdains the idea of actually reading minds (they're too complicated, though she can pick up the gist if enough people are thinking roughly the same thing), she's terrifyingly good at it; usually, it's Borrowing, but other tricks seen include various forms of hypnotism: examples include knocking people out, in one case with Magrat, to give her aristocratic levels of arrogance, or more frequently, to make people think they're frogs for a couple of days (she considers it more economical and amusing than the fully fledged BalefulPolymorph). She can also use telekinesis sometimes, to the point of - say - blowing up Nanny Ogg's hat as a demonstration to several wannabe witches that yes, she can use magic. However, she generally doesn't like to.

* BalefulPolymorph: Turned into a human in Witches Abroad by Granny, Nanny, and Magrat out of necessity, and finds it an amusing experience. This leaves him with the ability to turn into one when pushed into a corner - whereupon he usually spends his brief period of humanity searching desperately for some underwear.

Added DiffLines:

* Foil: To most witch candidates. Witches operate on using their heads, BrutalHonesty, and GoodIsNotSoft so as to correct the wrongs in their home turf; Geoffrey is a FriendToAllLivingThings and master at PolitenessJudo, who wants to be a witch so as to have witch's freedom to be who he is. This earns him the unusual niche of being a "calm-weaver" or "peace-weaver" (itself a pun on what people usually call a male witch, a "warlock").
* FriendToAllLivingThings: One of Geoffrey's main strength is his ability to befriend just about anyone, no matter their age, sex, gender or species. He gets along with people and animals alike.
* TheUnfavorite: He's this to his father because he prefers books to bloodsports.
* PolitenessJudo: He's good at getting people to agree with him despite themselves, just by being calm and friendly. It doesn't work on his father, but it works on most other people.
* VirtuousVegetarianism: Like Magrat, he's a vegetarian, largely because he abhors cruelty to animals. Unlike Magrat, he doesn't really get preachy about it.
* YoungestChildWins: The youngest of three sons, and the one who breaks away from their overbearing father. Though his two older brothers are portrayed sympathetically and seem to admire him for being able to take a stand.

* RomanticAsexual: She's all but explicitly asexual, never having any interest in sex and usually being disgusted when it's brought up (although this may be because it's usually brought up by Nanny). She remains a virgin all her life, but had one notable romance in her youth, although it was ultimately dropped in favour of her witch career. She briefly reunites with her OldFlame in Literature/LordsAndLadies during a period where she experiences glimpses of an AlternateTimeline where she accepted his proposal, and while she doesn't appreciate his attempts to pick up where they left off, she admits that her AlternateSelf seems happy enough with him.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Most of the witches think of themselves first and give themselves top priority over anyone else; Granny Weatherwax outright states that being a witch is about being selfish.
