The main protagonist of the series. A former princess of the Misurugi Empire, she was sent to Arzenal after finding out that she was a Norma on the day she was to participate in the politics of the empire on her sixteenth birthday. Pilot of the AW-[=CBX007=] Villkiss, although her first deployment had her piloting a stock AW-[=CBR115=] Glaive that was more of a machine for new recruits.

* TheAce: Ange was supposed to inherit TheEmpire instead of her older brother, is shown to be "above average in all areas" in training, and is also noted to be one of the [[AcePilot best pilots of Arzenal]], as her performance at Arzenal shows. She's also noted to be able to pilot Villkiss skillfully, and, for awhile, also solos [=DRAGON=] squadrons while dodging UnfriendlyFire from teammates who want to kill her for inadvertently killing two recruits and Zola. It also means that she hoards all of the kills, causing others to go into PerpetualPoverty as their income is based on the number and type of [=DRAGONs=] the person kills. As revealed in "Resonating Front Lines", she is also skilled in different types of sports and capable of driving a ''professional race car''.
* AdrenalineMakeover: After the events of "Villkiss Awakens". It's quite hard to believe that the Angelise of "The Fallen Imperial Princess" and the Ange of later episodes are the same person.

She never becomes too merciful or idealistic though: she tears the [[EvilEmpire Misurugi Empire]] residents a new one for demanding her protection by force, and later decides that the chaos in the former Mana World is not her problem and they can adapt or die.

** She kisses Tusk in, appropriately enough, "Ange and Tusk", where they pick up from their earlier AlmostKiss after Tusk confesses his feelings for her. They likely would have gone all the way if [[spoiler:they weren't {{interrupted|Intimacy}} by Salamandinay's soldiers]].
** [[spoiler:She also has one with Hilda in "Distorted World". After Hilda confesses her feelings to Ange, she starts angsting about Ange being in a relationship with Tusk and how both of them being women [[{{Gayngst}} makes it weird]], and Ange reassures her by pushing her against the wall and kissing her.]]
* BigSisterInstinct: She will do anything to protect her little sister Sylvia. [[spoiler:It ends up biting her in the ass when Sylvia betrays her.]]

* BreakingTheFourthWall: She often does this in the Next Episode previews.
* BrickJoke: In the beginning of ''Dragon Song'', after finding out that both her and Hilda have been in the cell for a week, Ange wishes she could just get some water to refresh herself. When she finally gets a hold of Villkiss, Ange had to make it run in the water to start it up. She acknowledges that getting some water on her skin was refreshing.
* BrokenBird: The first ten episodes alone caused her to become incredibly cold and distant, having been lied to, used, or betrayed by nearly everyone.

* ConflictingLoyalty: By "Conclusive Ocean", she has to choose between following Jill and her RoaringRampageOfRevenge against Embryo, or [[spoiler:side with the DRAGON race to free the Norma]]. Upon realizing how far Jill is willing to go to kill Embryo, she decides to help [[spoiler:the [=DRAGONs=] unite with the Norma on the Aurora]] and kill him.

* CoolBigSis: She was a kind-hearted sister toward Sylvia [[spoiler:until the latter turned on her]]. Later, not only does Ange comfort Vivian when she finds out that [[spoiler:she's a DRAGON]], but seeing as she was initially more friendly to Ange than any other Norma, she also expresses delight when Vivian is reunited with her mother.
* CosmicPlaything: Considering how nonchalantly Embryo, her siblings, Jill and the DRAGON race (with the exception of [[PetTheDog Sala]]) play around with her fate, it's rather surprising that she still has some sort of self-worth (or perhaps it is ''because'' of all this).
* CrazyEnoughToWork: When she hears Sala singing, instead of Ange just running away to dodge the attack, she ''sings'' the song "El Ragna" despite the fact that there should be no reason to. In fact, she had no idea singing it would [[spoiler:unlock Villkiss's GoldenSuperMode]] with the exception that both songs have similar lyrics.
* CrucifiedHeroShot: The fixed second opening has Ange in this pose, along with BoundAndGagged. Played for {{Fanservice}} like [[{{Ecchi}} everything else]].

** During her first battle with the [=DRAGONs=], she kills most of them by herself.
** In "Arzenal Burns", she curb-stomps Salia and destroys Julio's fleet.

* DefiantCaptive: She becomes one to Embryo, to the point where she breaks his mind control. [[spoiler:Played more straight in "God's Soul-Searching" where Ange manages to break out of her MindRape, telling Embryo to suck it. Embryo just responds with, well more brainwashing.]]

** She becomes defiant to the point she sings her mother's song after spotting the ring in Julio's possession and is about to be executed in "Goodbye From the Gallows".
** In the second half of "Conclusive Ocean", when Jill threatens Ange to follow her latest plan to kill Embryo and sacrifice the dragons or Momoka dies, Ange spits at her and bolts after defeating her.
** Embryo's behavior ''really'' got Ange under her skin from the get-go to the point that she resists his brainwashing attempts. By the conclusion of "Beyond Time", [[spoiler:she gives him a well-deserved KarmicDeath]].
* DefrostingIceQueen: Ange has come to fully appreciate her friends at Arzenal, who she once looked down on for being Norma, for accepting her in spite of being a Norma by contrast to her former friends. Momoka and Misty were the only two who didn't turn on her.
* {{Determinator}}: Being ''sick'' will not prevent her from piloting Villkiss and try to rescue her team. Death threats will make her DefiantToTheEnd to the point where [[spoiler:Embryo has finally had enough of her getting in his way]].
* DeusAngstMachina: She puts up with a lot of crap, and the number of people who have never wanted her dead can be counted on a single hand. Suffice it to say her rage is well earned.

* DispenseWithThePleasantries: No, Misty, Ange doesn't want to hear all that small talk praising that you are doing.

** After being exposed by Julio as a norma, later nearly getting executed by him and being the target along with the rest of Arzenal for capture or extermination, Ange has finally had enough and decimates his fleet, threatens him to stop the massacre right away, and is still a moment away from killing him out of disgust before Embryo intervenes and does the deed himself.
** Also, in a more minor example, she gives Hilda what for during the earlier escape from Arzenal for her attempts to kill her earlier by sabotaging Villkiss and unfriendly fire, nearly ditching her as payback, until Hilda catches up and explains she did everything to survive long enough to escape and reunite with her mother.
** Jill not only giving her a harsh rectal examination, but also lying to her on multiple counts, continuously trying to use her, beating her at least a couple times, and threatening to throw her maid and best friend out of the airlock if she doesn't follow her latest unsound plan? Ange finally gives her a much deserved KO during the finale of "Conclusive Ocean".
** Towards the end of "Distorted World", after Sylvia blames Ange for her being in an incapacitated state, Ange [[spoiler:violently forces Sylvia to walk since her injuries were completely healed]].

* DrivenToSuicide: After witnessing the dragons, this is what her mindset is until she finally starts fearing for her life when the dragon almost kills her. She broke her commander's metallic arm while the latter was conducting a cavity search, survived drowning and a snake bite, got up after being smacked by a Schooner-class DRAGON which clearly was at least almost twice her height, was forced to pull a cart filled with tombstones despite being injured and made worse by Hilda kicking her shoulder, kept dealing with friendly fire and DRAGON attack at the same time which resulted in a lot of repairs for Villkiss, was grazed in her left shoulder from a surprise attack from her sister, tortured and almost near death's door with her hanged at the gallows yet still kicked ass like nothing was wrong with her, got her ass whooped by Jill and all she got was a slight minor inconvenience after she woke up, free-fall from the sky with no parachute, and start up Villkiss submerged underwater and the only comment she has is that it felt refreshing.
* MakeItLookLikeAStruggle: Evidently with Misty, who seemed to be willing to cooperate in Ange's escape in "Bikini Escape". Done again with Salia in "God's Soul-Searching".

Luckily, she convinces Sala and everyone else after she helps save them from Embryo's time-space convergence, and manages to forge an alliance between them and her fellow allies in her own world against their mutual nemesis.
