She runs to Curaçao for comfort, but then it slowly dawns on her that Curaçao is a clone too, which makes ''her'' imperfect as well. She instantly flips out and assaults Curaçao for lying about her perfection, shattering the strongest bond between any two of the Mean Six in a matter of minutes.

* TheLostLenore: It is revealed that he had a lover named Golden Heart that served at his side during the war that led eventually to him building the Beacons and bringing the world to its current state. In the divergence timeline, we learn that she found out about what he was trying to do and attempted to warn the gryphons of it, so he was forced to kill her himself to prevent that knowledge from spreading. The last words they share together are what allows him to maintain his sense of self for centuries under Nihila's thumb.
** In the original timeline, Silvertongue clearly loses that conviction for some reason, which causes him to go mad with power and attempt to [[spoiler: destroy all of reality]]. It's hinted in the final chapters of the first divergence volume what that factor was: a Chronomancer's Timekeeper. He had possession of Tick Tock's in the original timeline and obtained it early on, but never had possession of it at all in the divergence timeline (so far) and as such didn't learn ''something'' from it that set him off on his omnicidal quest.

!!The Divergence Mean Six

On the whole, the new Mean Six are incredibly similar to their original timeline counterparts, but have enough distinct differences to make them worth comparing. Listed below are the tropes unique to the divergent versions of the characters.

[[folder:Golden Dawn]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/goldendawm_1.png]]

The clone of Twilight Sparkle, and the divergence timeline version of Starlight Shadow.

* GenerationXerox: An odd case. She looks almost exactly like Golden Heart, a mare that Silvertongue was in a relationship with a very long time ago. He theorizes was because in his effort to create a mare that could actually befriend Twilight Sparkle, his thoughts dwelled on his lost love. This may or may not be the reason for Dawn's obsession with her father's approval.
* ParentalIncest: Another odd case. Like Starlight Shadow before her, there is an implication that she might love her father is a way that isn't quite "natural". Havoc and Curaçao point this out to her, and she seems to realize how awkward her obsession sounds and clarifies that this isn't the case.
* RegalRinglets: Unlike her counterpart, Starlight Shadow, Golden Dawn fully leans into the ideal picture of a professional, properly-postured mare, and thus styles herself in such a way as to fully show just how elite she is. Her hairstyle is just the tip of the iceberg.
* SiblingRivalry: Has one with Havoc, and is the only one of her sisters that seems to actually get on Havoc's nerves, and vice versa.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: Played with. Havoc fully intends to be insulting when she calls Rainbow Dash a dyke, but she is under the impression that Rainbow won't get upset because they insult each other all the time. Rainbow gives her a piece of her mind about it, and Havoc is quick to apologize because she doesn't ''actually'' dislike gay ponies and didn't mean to offend Rainbow.
* JockDadNerdSon: Inverted. While calling Silvertongue a "nerd" might be somewhat of a stretch, he definitely seems to be somepony more interested and invested in academics than sports. Havoc, on the other hand, is a total jock.
* PassionateSportsGirl: As above, she loves the pegasus-only sport of skyball and plays a key role in the success of the Mid-East Rockets alongside Rainbow Dash.
* SiblingRivalry: Has one with Dawn, and is the only one of her sisters that seems to actually get on Dawn's nerves, and vice versa.

* InconvenientAttraction: Develops a strong attraction to Twilight Sparkle due to their time spent together and relative closeness, an attraction that is apparently reciprocated. However, she immediately regrets revealing this and breaks it off before Twilight goes home because she knows she and Twilight can never be together.

* NervesOfSteel: Her advanced combat training seems to have equipped her with the ability to stare death in the face without fear. Shadowstep has her pinned, much like he'd done with Tick Tock in the original timeline, but she doesn't panic or fall into his attempts to goad her. She just calmly prepares the spell she needs to critically injure him without him noticing; the calmness actually makes him mad!

The clone of Twilight Sparkle, and the divergence timeline version of Starlight Shadow.

* CompleteImmortality: GenerationXerox: An odd case. She ''can't'' looks almost exactly like Golden Heart, a mare that Silvertongue was in a relationship with a very long time ago. He theorizes was because in his effort to create a mare that could actually befriend Twilight Sparkle, his thoughts dwelled on his lost love. This may or may not be killed, the reason for Dawn's obsession with her father's approval.
* ParentalIncest: Another odd case. Like Starlight Shadow before her, there is an implication that she might love her father is a way that isn't quite "natural". Havoc and Curaçao point this out to her, and she seems to realize how awkward her obsession sounds and clarifies that this isn't the case.
* RegalRinglets: Unlike her counterpart, Starlight Shadow, Golden Dawn fully leans into the ideal picture of a professional, properly-postured mare, and thus styles herself in such a way as to fully show
just weakened. If her physical form is destroyed, how elite she retreats to her realm to recover.
* BigGood: She
is. Her hairstyle is just the polar opposite tip of Nihilia, the iceberg.
* SiblingRivalry: Has one with Havoc,
and is the only hope one of getting the Mane Six home.
* DimensionLord: We aren't told the name of said dimension, though.
* LightisGood:Is always accompanied by a bright light, and has very light colors.
* PhysicalGod: A Goddess of balance,
her sisters that is.
seems to actually get on Havoc's nerves, and vice versa.

that Rainbow won't get upset because they insult each other all the time. Rainbow gives her a piece of her mind about it, and Havoc is quick to apologize because she doesn't ''actually'' dislike gay ponies and didn't mean to offend Rainbow.

Added DiffLines:

[[folder:Gray Skies]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/greyskies.png]]

The clone of Rainbow Dash, and the divergence timeline version of Grayscale Force.

* AmazonianBeauty: Her size and strength are given full attention this time around, as she is fully capable of feats of strength even without her gravity powers. Fluttershy develops a crush on her for this reason in particular.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: After learning about why exactly Gray and her sisters have been helping the Mane Six all this time, Flathoof is rightfully upset about it and wonders how much of it all was real. Gray tells him point-blank that she has feelings for him, and that she didn't fake that whatsoever.
* NonIndicativeName: Averted. Gray Skies is ''actually'' gray this time, which fits her drab personality very well.
* WomenPreferStrongMen: If her attraction to Flathoof is any indication, Gray Skies has a type. [[spoiler: This fits considering that her original timeline version ended up marrying Big Macintosh.]]

[[folder:Insipid]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/insipid.png]]

The clone of Rarity, sharing nearly all traits with her original timeline counterpart.

* BreakTheCutie: A particularly mean-spirited rival designer insults Insipid's appearance, intelligence, and dignity, which is enough to crush Insipid's spirit enough to almost ruin her fashion show. It takes a pep-talk from Rarity to lift her out of it.
* TheFashionista: While not a designer of clothes like Rarity, she is definitely fashion-conscious.
* FashionModel: Becomes one of these with Rarity's help, and is quite successful at it in fact. Her physical resemblence to Rarity plays a big role in that.
* SpoiledSweet: Her father is ludicrously wealthy, and she has no qualms in spending her daddy's money to buy clothes for her friends that they can't afford just because she wants to, and she expects nothing in return.

[[folder:Red Velvet]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redvelvet.png]]

The clone of Pinkie Pie, sharing surprisingly few traits with her original timeline counterpart. Most crucially, her fear powers are downplayed to an extreme.

* EthicalSlut: Thinks nothing of participating in casual sex with a willing partner, but never gives any indication that she'd do anything ethically wrong to get sex.
* ReallyGetsAround: In the original timeline, Red Velvet expresses a definite ''desire'' to engage in sexual activities with stallions, but never gets the ''opportunity'' due to the circumstances of the story. She has no such limitations here, and makes frequent comments about the fact that she is sexually active with casual partners.
