** Havocwing's Element of Fury to Fluttershy's Element of Kindness -- Havocwing is incredibly [[IncrediblyLamePun hotheaded]] with a short temper while Fluttershy is reserved and serves as TheHeart to the Mane Six.

* BreakThemByTalking: The Mane Six use this tactic to try and talk down the Mean Six during their solo battles in the later chapters, as the Mean Six are now out for blood. The Mean Six leave themselves open to it since they attempt to get their feelings about their CloningBlues off their chests. As it turns out, [[spoiler: Curaçao knew this would happen and not only accounted for it, but planned on it, hoping the situation would drive the evil from her sisters and make them happy. [[GoodHurtsEvil Sadly, her plan worked a little too well...]]]]
* CloningBlues: They (except Havocwing) do ''not'' take their TomatoInTheMirror revelation that they're clones well.

* CloningBlues: Starlight is devastated to learn that she is Twilight Sparkle's clone, as she considered herself superior to Twilight in every possible way. Havocwing manages to talk her into believing she still is the better unicorn, she just needs to prove it now. How best to do that? Destroy the original, of course!

* TeamMom: Curaçao, as the eldest sibling, has great love for her sisters and becomes quite angry when they are in danger. The others all look up to her and Havocwing, as the eldest, for support after they suffer their CloningBlues.

* CloningBlues: Grayscale's breakdown after learning she is a clone of Rainbow Dash causes her to dismiss her existence and that of her sisters as "nothing". She quickly spirals into a nihilistic depression, but is talked out of it by Havocwing... sort of.

* CloningBlues: Insipid is at first very traumatized to learn that she is Rarity's clone, but is otherwise not too badly affected, just sad about not being perfect. She runs to Curaçao for comfort, but then it slowly dawns on her that Curaçao is a clone too, which makes ''her'' imperfect as well. She instantly flips out and assaults Curaçao for lying about her perfection, shattering the strongest bond between any two of the Mean Six in a matter of minutes.

* SingleTargetSexuality: Insipid was, up until her CloningBlues settled in, singularly obsessed with Curaçao as the object of her devotion and adoration. Curaçao admits on two separate occasions to allowing it on purpose - first to Grayscale Force earlier in the story, claiming to be using Insipid; second to Havocwing much later in the story, admitting that she'd done it to keep Insipid's insatiable greed from becoming problematic.

* TooDumbToFool: A variation, as Havocwing's single-mindedness is what saved her from suffering the same CloningBlues as her sisters; the existential implications flew right over her head, so she was able to take it in stride.

* ElementalPowers: She has a control over the weather that rivals ComicBook/{{Storm}} of the Franchise/XMen, the difference being that it's based around her flight.

* FashionModel: Becomes one of these with Rarity's help, and is quite successful at it in fact. Her physical resemblence to Rarity plays a big role in that.

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: Starlight is put in charge of her team because she is, as she herself claims, the most powerful unicorn on the planet. In fact, it seems to be the only reason she calls the shots, since Curaçao is clearly the brains of the group.

* TheMeanBrit: British accent? Check. {{Jerkass}}? Check. DeadpanSnarker? Check. InsufferableGenius? Check. Are we missing anything?

* WeakButSkilled: Not in relation to other unicorns, which she already greatly outclasses, but in comparison to Starlight Shadow, she has slightly weaker Magic, even as an Arcanist. She makes up for this by being more flexible and more proficient at improvising with her magic than Starlight, who despite her claims to the contrary, isn't very good at much other than Brute force magic.

* DeathIsCheap: Being horribly torn apart by zombies is hardly enough to stop Shadowstep from coming after the Chronomancer. Lucky for him, Silvertongue still had some use for him. [[spoiler:Later though, for his body anyway, not so much for Shadowstep himself.]]

* KnifeNut: Up until his "upgrade" to an Elite Zombie, Shadowstep utilizes a pair of daggers as his weapons of choice.

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler:Silvertongue destroys his head, but leaves his body around that he can command it.]]

* SmugSuper: Starlight possesses enough power to tear through mountains, rip apart metal gates weighing several tons, mass-teleport incredible distances, and has a barrier spell powerful enough to withstand the might of a goddess. And, she is not at all shy about letting everybody know just how powerful she is. She also crosses over into SmugSnake territory as despite her power, she is not as gifted in terms of spells.
* UnskilledButStrong: Despite her SmugSuper attitude, she is this. Almost every spell she uses is just a more powerful version of a spell any Unicorn can use. She can do ''some'' things most Unicorns can't do, (such as make it foggy) but that's about it.

* NeverBareheaded / NiceHat: Her hat is explained as being her late father's - a common fan theory - so she ''never'' goes anywhere without it. Lost it in battle in Chapter 26, and it's really quite devastated her.

* {{Expy}} / ShoutOut: She's basically the Pinkie Pie from ''Fanfic/{{Cupcakes}}'', with a touch of [[Anime/SoulEater Crona]].

* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: How she makes tornadoes.

On the whole, the new Mean Six are incredibly similar to their original timeline counterparts, but have enough distinct differences to make them worth comparing. Listed below are the tropes unique to the divergent versions of the characters.

* GenerationXerox: An odd case. She looks almost exactly like Golden Heart, a mare that Silvertongue was in a relationship with a very long time ago. He theorizes was because in his effort to create a mare that could actually befriend Twilight Sparkle, his thoughts dwelled on his lost love. This may or may not be the reason for Dawn's obsession with her father's approval.
* ParentalIncest: Another odd case. Like Starlight Shadow before her, there is an implication that she might love her father is a way that isn't quite "natural". Havoc and Curaçao point this out to her, and she seems to realize how awkward her obsession sounds and clarifies that this isn't the case.
* RegalRinglets: Unlike her counterpart, Starlight Shadow, Golden Dawn fully leans into the ideal picture of a professional, properly-postured mare, and thus styles herself in such a way as to fully show just how elite she is. Her hairstyle is just the tip of the iceberg.
* SiblingRivalry: Has one with Havoc, and is the only one of her sisters that seems to actually get on Havoc's nerves, and vice versa.

* AgentsDating: In the divergence timeline, she and Shroud develop a mutual attraction to one another and begin dating late in the story. Their relationship buds particularly due to their close working relationship, capping off when they go on their first date to a charity event where Lockwood will be present, as Curaçao needs an excuse to speak with him formally.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: As in the original timeline, she's the most prim and proper of her sisters, and certainly the most polite and genuine too, but she's just as dangerous as they are when the need arises. She doesn't think twice to step in and protect Shroud from the unwanted advances of Treasurer Vendetta, one of the most powerful ponies in the city, evne when he directly threatens physical harm upon her.
* LipstickLesbian: While it isn't revealed until much, much later in the original timeline (not until the sequel, officially), Curaçao's homosexuality is on full display here, and she is very much a feminine mare who is attracted to the similarly feminine Shroud.

* FriendlyRivalry: Unlike in the original timeline, she and Rainbow Dash get along swimmingly, bonding over their love of sports and their similar personalities, to the point that Havoc considers Dash her best friend and Dash is willing to share deeply personal information with her.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Played with. Havoc fully intends to be insulting when she calls Rainbow Dash a dyke, but she is under the impression that Rainbow won't get upset because they insult each other all the time. Rainbow gives her a piece of her mind about it, and Havoc is quick to apologize because she doesn't ''actually'' dislike gay ponies and didn't mean to offend Rainbow.
* JockDadNerdSon: Inverted. While calling Silvertongue a "nerd" might be somewhat of a stretch, he definitely seems to be somepony more interested and invested in academics than sports. Havoc, on the other hand, is a total jock.
* PassionateSportsGirl: As above, she loves the pegasus-only sport of skyball and plays a key role in the success of the Mid-East Rockets alongside Rainbow Dash.
* SiblingRivalry: Has one with Dawn, and is the only one of her sisters that seems to actually get on Dawn's nerves, and vice versa.
* VirginShaming: Invokes this upon herself, feeling ashamed that she's never had a sexual partner before, to the point that she considers it her biggest self-confidence issue.

Gray tells him point-blank that she has feelings for him, and that she didn't fake that whatsoever.
* NonIndicativeName: Averted. Gray Skies is ''actually'' gray this time, which fits her drab personality very well.
* WomenPreferStrongMen: If her attraction to Flathoof is any indication, Gray Skies has a type. [[spoiler: This fits considering that her original timeline version ended up marrying Big Macintosh.]]

* TheFashionista: While not a designer of clothes like Rarity, she is definitely fashion-conscious.
* FashionModel: Becomes one of these with Rarity's help, and is quite successful at it in fact. Her physical resemblence to Rarity plays a big role in that.
* SpoiledSweet: Her father is ludicrously wealthy, and she has no qualms in spending her daddy's money to buy clothes for her friends that they can't afford just because she wants to, and she expects nothing in return.

Specifically, in Chapter 16 she fights to several pieces of Franchise/FinalFantasy music; in Chapter 21, VideoGame/SuperSmashBros; in Chapter 24 she attempts to listen to some Franchise/MetalGear music, but Curaçao prefers something with more class so instead they fight to French opera.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Their very first appearance handily establishes their personalities, powers, and status as a QuirkyMinibossSquad.
* EvilKnockoff: They are all clones of the Mane Six, corrupted and transformed by dark magic.
