* TheStoic: This guy is capable of being completely calm during a massive shootout. The only time he lost his cool was [[spoiler: when Eda told him he was an insect compared to the might of the United States]].

* Ginji with ''any'' female character. And most male characters.

* Moe: Watch her playing video games with Rotton or sitting curled up with an ice pop and try to deny the cuteness.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Easily the most decent and sympathetic human being in the series, and usually very polite and even-keeled... but just as dangerous as his crewmates, albeit in a [[GuileHero different]] [[BadassPacifist way]]. And if you push him far enough, like say, abducting and then molesting and abusing a young girl he's trying to protect, he will drop the pacifism and bring the pain, as Chaka found out the hard way. Or if you're a crewmate who's worn away his (considerable) patience by being a {{Jerk Ass}}, he'll get in your face and verbally shred you, whether you have a gun pointed at him or not.
*** Not to mention that in a last bid to save Yukio, he asked Balalaika to wipe out the last remaining Yakuza in order to force her to live an ordinary life.

* ButtMonkey (In his old job, he got his ass kicked a lot by his bosses. He's shaken this off as he adjusts to his life as a pirate.)

He's a ''serious'' candidate for MagnificentBastard, should he become even more embittered.)
* GoodEyesEvilEyes (His eyes were shown as fairly wide at the beginning of the series, when he was at his most inexperienced and idealistic, but over time, they have narrowed considerably, as he became more competent/cynical)

And later, he risks his life by trying to persuade Balalaika to spare her.

Arguably, her refusal to leave Balalaika's forces alone is something of a subversion, on the grounds that she made that decision on the very reasonable grounds that she had no reason to trust Balalaika to keep her word after having broken it to wage war on her Family in the first place.

* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Willingly takes leadership of a Yakuza gang, and laughs at Rock's suggestion that she leave the underworld. It [[spoiler: doesn't end well for her]].
* ImprobableAge: Horribly deconstructed. A teenager has no business trying to fight Balalaika and her ex-special forces henchmen.

** She did well with what she had, being able to figure out what was going on a lot faster than her more experienced subordinates, and she made a decent showing against the head of the rival Family. Its just that she started off with a very small gang (a portion of whom were AxCrazy traitors) who had been targeted for annihilation by both a much larger gang and freakin' Balalalaika. Really, the only factor she had in her favor was the Revy level BadAss enforcer/love interest, and that's not even close to enough to dig her out of the pit she started in.

* CompleteMonster: While most of this series's villains have sympathetic moments, Chaka is a complete scumbag from his introduction on, particularly with the way he abuses Yukio once he gets his hands on her. Not even the freakin' ''[[ThoseWackyNazis neo-Nazis]]'' inspired as much loathing and contempt by the end of their first scene as this jackass. This guy makes even [[HeroicSociopath Revy]] pissed off with his actions and even the usually non-violent [[NonActionGuy Rock]] decide to beat his sorry ass [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome with a freaking]] ''[[CrowningMomentOfAwesome bowling pin]]''.

* ClusterFBomb (Rivals Revy in terms of total swear count.)

* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: Despise being Colombian, he is named after the Mexican drug lord Juan Garcia Abrego, one of the founders of the Mexican Gulf Cartel.

* CompositeCharacter: Hansel and Gretel both resemble "the twins from TheShining," [[LampshadeHanging as pointed out by a traumatized survivor of their attack on a bar.]] The Gretel personality also shares elements of {{Rambo}} with her WeaponOfChoice, namely a [[MoreDakka BAR Machine gun]] that she can fire from the hip ''single-handedly'' while running.

* CuteShotaroBoy: Hansel is a subversion as he and Gretel use their cuteness to get the drop on their victims.)
* DepravedBisexual: Gretel, (We think.) enjoyed feeling up Eda a little too much.

An Indian counterfeiter whose goal is to create perfect counterfeit money. After members of the Floridan cartel that hired her lose patience with her due to continued [[ScheduleSlip schedule slips]] and shoot one of her co-workers, she flees from the members of the cartel and eventually seeks sanctuary with the Church of Violence.

* CrazyPrepared: He might not be all that bright, but he is smart enough to wear things like a bulletproof vest and a groin guard which come in handy when the bodies start falling
* DoggedNiceGuy: "There's no way I can just ignore an injured girl and let her die."

* GenreSavvy (Oddly plays this straight in regards to the fact he's smart enough to wear a bulletproof vest most of the time. See WrongGenreSavvy for what he gets wrong)

** Given the CrapsackWorld setting of this series? Both seem pretty nice. Outside of battle and if nobody pays them to hurt you, that is, but that goes for pretty much everyone in [[WretchedHive Roanapur]].

* MadeOfIron: Even when he's shot, falling down from a building or kicked in the balls (by Roberta of all people!), he just rises up again and continues to try to act like a badass.
** The "Being shot" and "kicked in the balls"-parts mostly comes from a bulletproof west and a metal codpiece. He still felt from a rooftop and just got up again, though.

* NeutralEvil: Like her pal Shenhua, she loves her job -- brutally slaughtering people -- and takes even greater pleasure in it than Shenhua, almost seeming ChaoticEvil when at work. However, off the job is nice enough.
** Though it doesn't prevent her from being pitied. Must be the {{Moe}}.
* VillainousBSOD: When her communication device is destroyed

*BewareTheNiceOnes: Easily the most decent and sympathetic human being in the series, and usually very polite and even-keeled... but just as dangerous as his crewmates, albeit in a [[GuileHero different]] [[BadassPacifist way]]. And if you push him far enough, like say, abducting and then molesting and abusing a young girl he's trying to protect, he will drop the pacifism and bring the pain, as Chaka found out the hard way. Or if you're just a crewmate being a {{Jerk Ass}}, he'll just get in your face and verbally shred you. Epically.

*EvenEvilHasStandards He may have willingly chosen to become a pirate and run with very unsavoury people, but dammit, he still has standards!

**Arguably, this callousness has more to do with the fact that the abused kids double up as AxCrazy serial killers.
