Does Not Like Shoes has been renamed and redefined to focus on characters that explicitly or implicitly state a preference for going barefoot. Removing misuse

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Matt and Raven are also ragged on for their habit of wearing just their socks everyplace they go, which leads to filthy socks grossing everybody out. Raven actually hurt herself doing that.

* BadassInCharge: They erred pretty much the ones in control of the game for the entire time, mostly because the alliance had Paul, who was the puppet master dictating and controlling the entire game, at the helm. And look where they ended up, all three of them made it to the Final 3 as they planned because they were in such control.

Making some entries more concise

* ActionSurvivor: The majority of the house were not the strongest competitors and actually got by in the game by clinging to Paul and depending on him and his strong strategic gameplay to try to make it as far to the end as possible. There were some houseguests that didn't just sit back and let Paul take all the control and pulled their weight competitively, such as Mark, Cody, Alex, Jason, Christmas and Josh. However, even though they did manage to pull their weight on a competitive level, they were only winning competitions for Paul so that he could dictate to them who they should target and take out on their own HOH reigns. And when trying to win competitions in general, Alex would be the most difficult person to convince to throw them, Josh tended to win anything that didn't require endurance, such as the sports challenges and even a couple of brain games, and once he applied himself, Mark was very difficult to keep up with at POV competitions until his big size was used against him in the one that decided his fate once he lost it. Jessica also had a surprisingly decent showing in challenges whenever she fought for her life in the house.
* AHouseDivided: Considering that there's so many conflicting personalities in this house, it's not surprising that eventually, all of them start to turn on each other. However, the very first half of the game doesn't involve anyone turning on each other....that is until Paul decides that the weeks are dwindling down and more and more people need to be evicted so that he and his alliance can make it farther to the end.
* BlindObedience: Oh DEAR. This was such a huge common flaw amongst the vast majority of the house. Almost every single houseguest with the exception of Cody and Jessica had a blind loyalty and obedience to Paul and pretty much all of them did everything that he asked without even questioning. They were so incredibly GenreBlind and TooDumbToLive that the majority of the other houseguests had a MyMasterRightOrWrong mentality towards Paul. Some were even willing to sacrifice their games for him or make themselves a target for Paul!
* TheBully: Many of the houseguests used intimidation tactics and bullying to further their games. But this had more to do with having a group or mob mentality more than anything else. Houseguests such as Paul, Alex, Christmas, Josh, Cody, Jessica, and Raven had no problem partaking in the bullying of other houseguests which caused a lot of animosity and tension to rise in the house. Paul was the centrepiece of pretty much all of the bullying in the house as he was the one who was encouraging and inciting it for the most part. His targets were primarily Cody and Jessica, but he would also use other houseguests such as Josh to also bully them as well. Cody and Jessica bullied people such as Christmas, Alex, Paul, and Josh at various points in the game. Cody verbally attacked and physically threatened Paul after he had nominated him in Week 5. Cody also bullied Josh in Week 6 that he was going to physically beat up Josh outside of the house and make his life a living Hell. Jessica also did her fair share of bullying when she humiliated Josh in front of everyone after not voting to keep Jillian by calling him a crybaby victim. Josh ended up crying hysterically afterwards and the other houseguests had to comfort him. Jessica also personally attacked Josh numerous times by fat shaming him (calling him fat ass, widdle-waddle, fat f-ck, etc) and insulting his intelligence by calling him a moron and the dumbest person she's ever met. This also resulted in Josh crying and the houseguests having to comfort and support him. Christmas also did her fair share of bullying but most of it was towards Cody and Josh. She attacked Cody by calling him a disgraceful marine and questioning has military service. And Christmas would also act as a BigSisterBully to Josh whenever he ended up doing something that she didn't like or approve of. Alex bullied people like Jessica, Cody, Elena and Kevin unnecessarily. She constantly bashed them behind their back and antagonized them by starting fights and conflicts with them. Josh also frequently resorted to using intimidation and bullying towards other houseguests such as Cody, Mark, Elena, Kevin, Jessica. He has personally attacked all of them, insulted them and has resorted to banging pots and pans in their faces in order to torment them all while singing a circus tune. Raven also got into the mob mentality of bullying when she yelled and attacked Jessica by calling her endless derogatory names and consistently cursing at her and Cody during the house fight that took place in Week 5. At some point, everyone has come across as a bully and this is definitely a season where bullying took centre stage in the game. The last recent season to showcase bullying to this strength was Big Brother 15.

* TheDragon: Pretty much every single houseguest was working for Paul or was a loyal minion for him. They followed Paul and did all of his dirty work for him. They weren't just working for Paul, but they also had BlindObedience and UndyingLoyalty to him as well. Some of them were even willing to sacrifice their own games for Paul or make themselves a target so that Paul wouldn't become one, knowing that he's the sole vet in the house. It should also be noted that many of the houseguests played this role to Paul because they felt that Paul was the designated leader and mentor of the season and that they all needed his help and guidance in the game. Otherwise, they would feel lost most of the time without his guidance and advice in the game.
* EpicFail: The infamous moment where a Head of Household Competiton that involved running saw ALL of the remaining players throw the competition until it went to the girl with A BROKEN FOOT. Granted, it made sense to throw the power to her as it was one of the rare few competitions she was medically cleared to compete in, but this moment, while being a fantastic achievement for Paul, was called out by Michelle Meyer, Cody Califore, Dick Donato, Derrick Levasseur, Caleb Renyolds (who also went on ''Series/{{Survivor}}'' and knew the value of not throwing a challenge at the risk of blowback) and even ''Dan Gheesling!''
* '''GenreBlind''': This cast is generally derided as one of the most incompetent, if not ''THE'' most incompetent, the US version of the show has seen. Not since Derrick utterly slammed the competition in Big Brother 16 have we borne witness to a bunch of people who cannot see the forest for the trees. Instead, the second Paul enters the house, the vast majority are taken with BlindObedience and HeroWorship, while the others have absolutely ''zero'' sense of tact to hide their distrust from the vet or recognize when he's moving in to prune them away. Bad moves and missteps are aplenty this season; even Paul, the most emotionally stable next to Kevin, is subject to this scrutiny for not knowing how to avoid drawing attention to himself so his traitorous moves aren't traced back to him, and the one guy smart enough to go after him, Josh, is ironically the ''most'' emotionally unstable player in the game.
* {{Hypocrite}}: DEAR GOD, this house was full of a bunch of hypocrites. Many of the houseguests acted like bitter babies that they were played and lied to repeatedly throughout the game. Yet, many of them also lied and backstabbed people as well. Let's not forget them complaining about the bullying that constantly went on, when the vast majority of those that were complaining about bullying were also participating in the bullying themselves. For example, Cody and Jessica constantly complained about how everyone mistreated them and how they were constantly being harassed and bullied by the other houseguests. Did they seriously forget the very first week when they were in power and Cody was acting like TheCaligula by bullying people and mistreating them when things didn't go the way that he wanted them to? Are they forgetting that they bullied and humiliated Josh on numerous occasions and constantly called him a crybaby who made himself a constant victim? How about Cody constantly going on and on about how he hates people that make "victim noises" or people that end up PlayingTheVictimCard yet when things don't go his way, he makes himself out to be a poor mistreated victim that everyone has turned against? Jessica also complained about hating people that harass and bully people, but she was one of the biggest bullies in the house who mistreated people like Alex, Paul and Josh. Mark is also a bit hypocritical because he constantly says that he hates bullying and will always stand up to it and stop it if he sees it. Yet when many people were bullying others in the house, including Cody who had bullied pretty much every single houseguest at some point, Mark stood back and basically said nothing to stop it. Paul even called Mark out on his hypocrisy regarding his stance on standing up against bullying. At some point, every single houseguest has displayed a hypocritical moment. This cast is a bag full of hypocritical and bitter candies.

* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Oh boy. The houseguests that worked for Paul had a weird UndyingLoyalty to him to the point that they would never question what he says or does. They had a very BlindObedience to them and this cost them their game because they couldn't even see that Paul was playing them all like a violin and was secretly plotting their demise. Whether it was following his orders in regards to who should be targeted, who should be nominated, who should win comps or throw them, or who should be voted out/evicted, all of Paul's minions followed what he wanted. Even if it was something as controversial and immoral such as using bullying and intimidation, his followers obliged happily and ended up falling into the mob mentality of bullying, especially towards Paul's number one enemies Cody and Jessica. It seemed as though nobody questioned Paul and what he was doing, whether it was right or wrong.

* SoreLoser: A lot of the houseguests were very poor sports, sore losers and extremely bitter when they were going home or evicted. The most notably bitter houseguests were Dominique, Jessica, Cody, Jason, and Alex. Dominique didn't handle her impending eviction well at all because she was exposed by everyone else for playing an untrustworthy and sneaky game. Plus, she had a complete meltdown when she found out that it was her own ally Paul that was responsible for planning and orchestrating her demise in the game. Jessica was extremely bitter that she was going home, especially the fact that she was going home under her ArchEnemy's HOH Josh. Before she was evicted, she got into a massive fight with Josh in which she resorted to name calling him and insulting him personally. Jessica was so bitter about losing and going home before Jury started that she lashed out at Josh and called him "fat ass", "fat f-ck", and stupid. She also insulted his intelligence by trying to tease him that he couldn't spell. Cody was probably the most bitter out of the bunch that were deemed sore losers. After Jessica was evicted, he made little to no effort to try to salvage his own game. He didn't want to socialize with the other houseguests and he isolated himself in the Have Not room reading the Bible all day. He also went out of his way to spite Alex by taking her box of cereal and eating it all to himself simply because Alex nominated him and he was feeling upset by it. Cody ended up lashing out at everyone in his vicinity, blaming everyone else other than himself for both his demise in the game and Jessica's demise in the game. On the day that he was evicted, he decided to make a nasty speech filled with a bunch of BlatantLies which suggested that Jason and Alex were trying to flip the house against Matt, Raven and Paul when it was him that had campaigned that plan to both Jason and Alex in attempts to try to save his game and prevent him from going up on the block. When it was announced that he was evicted, Cody decided to walk out of the game like a extra bitter sore loser by walking across the living room glass table and refusing to say goodbye to, good luck to, or hug any of the remaining houseguests. Jason was the next one who was bitter and a sore loser but his reaction was completely justified since he was blindsided and didn't see his eviction coming. He, like Cody, also walked out of the house without hugging anyone or saying goodbye to anyone. And finally, Alex was probably the most bitter of them all. When she found out that she was going home after Paul confessed to her that he was not going to use the POV on her, Alex had a complete emotional breakdown and lashed out angrily towards the other houseguests. She also didn't say goodbye to the other houseguests as she was very upset and hurt by Paul's betrayal. This season was most definitely "The Big Brother Season of Sore Losers".
* SpikesOfDoom: Downplayed but thematically invoked. The Have-Not Room is a spiked lair this season, advertised as the place where houseguests will sleep on "the most painful beds ever", which have blunted spikes on their mattress beds to jab houseguests, as well as an uninviting titanium floor. Practically everyone has to put a cushion down to sit on them. There are also spikes littered throughout the room, and two special spikes which have an orange compartment and a blue compartment inside respectively. Have-Nots could go to the Diary Room and claim a key to unlock one of the spikes. One contained a Have-Not escape pass that would immediately end their punishment, but the other contained an extension that doubled their punishment to two weeks. Funnily enough, house pariahs Cody and Jessica seemed to bunker down in here without much dismay.
* SpoiledBrat: This cast was full of stereotypical millenials: people who lack work ethic and demonstrate a sense of entitlement when they haven't earned the right to a reward. Also, most of the cast let Paul do the thinking for them, either wanted to do nothing for themselves, had no plans going into the game or no real ambitious drive to go forward (beyond Team Misfits), and get mad when they don't have their way. In other words, just about everybody was a floater!!!
* '''TooDumbToLive''': With the sole exception of Josh, who [[BunnyEarsLawyer astonishingly]] knows what he's doing, everybody in the house this season (except for Cody and Dominique, who picked the wrong times to do so and it blew up in their faces) has lacked the sense to go after Paul ''and'' do so without being caught or at a bad time before he made it to the end of the game. Did we mention that almost NOBODY in this game went in with a premeditated strategy except Dominique (the talk show intel) and Paul (manipulate EVERYBODY)? As in something they conspired ''before'' the game even started?

* AlasPoorVillain: They weren't the most likeable people on the outside of the house, but did people inside of the house feel sorry for sending the both of them home. Pretty much the entire house felt sorry that they were going to blindside Jason and send him home. Josh felt so incredibly guilty about sending Jason home that he almost had an emotional breakdown due to having to lie to him constantly about whether or not he was going home. Paul, who was the one that orchestrated Jason's demise, felt bad that he had to send home one of his strongest allies and closest friends in the game. But Paul insisted that he had to send Jason home so that he could make it to the end again because Jason is such a strong competitor and player. And Christmas felt so bad about sending Jason home that when she had to cast the tie breaker vote to evict him, she was in tears and could barely talk. A similar fate awaited Alex later on. Josh, Christmas and Paul were especially affected the most emotionally by sending Alex home. Josh and Paul were so upset that they were sending her out the door that they both cried about her impending eviction. Josh even tried to talk to Alex to tell her the truth about her fate but he couldn't keep it together emotionally because he felt so bad about hurting her. And Paul ended up bawling after having a discussion with her about him choosing to not use the POV on her and that she would be the one ending up going home. After the conversation, he went to Christmas and Josh and ended up bawling tears. The audience may not have felt bad for their demise in the game (in particular Alex), but in the house, there were definitely some guilty feelings about putting them out of the game.

* FaceHeelTurn: Due to Paul's influence, these two went from being likeable and popular with the fans to becoming some of the most hated houseguests of the season. Alex became TheScrappy, being nearly universally hated by the Big Brother audience and Jason became a serious BaseBreakingCharacter with some fans liking him and other fans hating him.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* '''GenreBlind''': [[UpToEleven HELL YES.]] This cast is generally derided as one of the most incompetent, if not ''THE'' most incompetent, the US version of the show has seen.

Instead, the second Paul enters the house, the vast majority are taken with BlindObedience and HeroWorship, while the others have absolutely ''zero'' sense of tact to hide their distrust from the vet or recognize when he's moving in to prune them away. Bad moves and missteps are aplenty this season; even Paul, the most emotionally stable next to Kevin, is subject to this scrutiny for not knowing how to avoid drawing attention to himself so his traitorous moves aren't traced back to him, and the one guy smart enough to go after him, Josh, is ironically the ''most'' emotionally unstable player in the game.

removed misuse. Men Are Tough is a stereotype trope

* MenAreTough: The majority of the competitions that have been won this season are by men, including the Temptation Safety Competitions. Pretty much all of the POV competitions plus the majority of the HOH competitions have been won by the male houseguests. The only women that have won a POV this season are Jessica and Alex.

these tropes only apply to rulers

* '''ZeroPercentApprovalRating:''' WOW. This is effectively the most polarizing and villainous cast since Season 15, if the ''miles'' of explanation and sheer frequency of this trope appearing doesn't tell you right away.
** In short, all the nice houseguests were evicted before Jury, the last of which was Ramses. Talking about the remaining houseguests is basically like playing with nitro in a can. There were so many unlikeable and detestable houseguests this season that there were hardly any popular houseguests or clear favorites. There was something dislikable about almost every single houseguest from twelfth place on up, and Megan, the one who self-evicted.
** Paul, who was originally a fan favorite on Big Brother 18, had become incredibly disliked and hated this season due to being TheBully and playing a very scheming, lying, and manipulative game. Ironically, Paul's decline in popularity seemed to have mirrored Nicole Franzel's in Big Big Brother 18. Nicole was very liked on her original season (which was the biggest reason why she was brought back to play the game as a veteran on that season to begin with) but when she became a veteran, she let the power and status of being an experienced veteran get to her head and it made her conduct a FaceHeelTurn. Paul and Nicole are very similar to each other in this regard in that they were brought back by popular demand, became veterans and lost their hero statuses because they became DrunkWithPower and played a dirtier game than on their original seasons. Paul's popularity unfortunately never recovered and he even received some backlash and some hate on his social media once the game was over. That, and he basically enabled ''everyone's'' most repulsive sides and turned this cast into a barn of flea-bitten jackasses. And that's being POLITE.
** Alex was also someone who started off popular and was a fan favorite amongst the audience. However, once she became TheCorruptible and TheDragon to Paul and did a FaceHeelTurn, she revealed how unlikeable and nasty she really was. Alex was also a bully who constantly talked trash about the other houseguests and used to constantly pick on Kevin unnecessarily. This contributed to the fans turning against her which resulted in her popularity plummeting immensely. Before the season was over, Alex went from being in the Top 5 most popular houseguests of the season to being in the Bottom 5 of the least popular houseguests. She was at the bottom of nearly all of the Big Brother 19 houseguest popularity polls or ratings, including Jokers Updates Ratings.
** Christmas, like Alex, also started out as popular, but lost her likability and popularity when she became aligned with Paul. Once Christmas showed UndyingLoyalty to Paul and became TheDragon for him, the fans turned on her like they did Alex. And since then, her dedication to Paul has not done Christmas any favors with the audience liking her. She even adopted Paul's bullying tactics and manipulative ways in the game, something that made the fans incredibly uncomfortable.
** Raven is probably the most hated houseguest of the season by far and it's not even close. Raven was ALWAYS at the bottom of all of the popularity polls and ratings, most commonly Jokers Updates Ratings. Much of it has to do with the fact that Raven was a ConsummateLiar who came across as intensely delusional and constantly embellished stories about her real life no matter how silly or unrealistic they came across. They also hated her because they felt that she was extremely emotionally unstable and she hid a very violent and angry personality underneath a fake SouthernBelle facade. It didn't help that she constantly played the victim by exploiting her illness (Gastroparesis) at every turn in order to gain sympathy from her fellow houseguests so that she can manipulate them to keep her in the game.
** Cody was also incredibly loathed at the start of the season. However, he started to gain some favour and popularity later on. But the only reason why they felt sorry for Cody wasn't because they liked him (he was incredibly unlikeable!), but because ''everyone else was so much more worse than him!'' At the end of the season, Cody ended up winning America's Favorite Houseguest, but it's evident that unlike previous America's Favourite Houseguest winners that Cody didn't win because he's so popular, charismatic and likeable. He only won it because the fans wanted to strike against Paul by proving a statement that he was disliked all season and because the other houseguests were simply so detestable that they felt that nobody else was worth voting for to give the prize to. This is probably one of the most unlikeable casts next to Big Brother 15. ButWaitTheresMore
** Matt got balked at for being ineffective during the season and a disappointment, as well as his annoying laugh, his obnoxious behavior, and being Raven's showmance partner. But more so than anything else, Matt was dragged for his petulant screw-the-show style behavior prior to his eviction, which flew in the face of the spirit of the show.
** Jason made people made with his joke about banging Kevin's wife in front of all their daughters.
** Mark got in trouble for defending Cody and lashing out at Josh.
** Josh is kinda stuck in the middle. Either you love him or you can't stand him. He's lively and antic-y, but he's also a huge bully, so watch out!
** Jessica was disliked for being excessively bitchy, snipping at Alex (at least until we learn Alex's caustic gossip is behind that and Alex is the real turd) Cody's showmance partner, bullying Josh along with him, and taking to Twitter and beginning a tweet storm of her ranting and being a SoreLoser in general... but then subsequently cooled off and became much more likable. It soon became clear that most of the things Jessica said and did were fueled by being SurroundedByIdiots, and suddenly the fandom realized that the people who they viewed as the jerks of the season were actually supposed to be the good guys, had they not been so put upon by the others.
** Megan was just plain annoying to most houseguests and a thorn in peoples' side. The "Pao Pao" misconstrued comment incident was bad enough to ruin her.
** Kevin was adored outside of the house, but unfortunately left among a sea of snakes who started biting in Week 7.

* '''ZeroPercentApprovalRating''': Cody and Jessica were royally despised by nearly everyone in the house. They were the number one targets for everyone and they couldn't wait to get rid of them. Much of the disdain that the others had towards Cody and Jessica was the very fact that they came off as very dishonest and disloyal. In addition to that, Cody and Jessica completely abused their power during the first week and treated everyone terribly. Cody was probably the most hated between the two although Jessica certainly wasn't far behind because of her close association with him. When both Cody and Jessica were evicted, the entire house was very happy and they celebrated.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: ''Everyone'' in the house hated or was at least sick of Maven. The other houseguests found them to be a complete annoyance or a waste of space. Some of the houseguests complained that they contributed nothing to the game other than playing house and making out with each other.

* {{Adorkable}}: Subverted. Jason and Alex seemed like they were cute and dorky duo in the game that seemed likeable....until they did a FaceHeelTurn and became unlikable in personality. It didn't help that they lost their cute factor when they also became the most bitter houseguests of the season.
* AlasPoorVillain: Oh DEAR. They weren't the most likeable people on the outside of the house, but did people inside of the house feel sorry for sending the both of them home.
