* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: By the time the comic started Robotnik had burnt all of his bridges. He became the defacto enemy of Mobian kind and the Overlanders saw him as a war criminal and traitor. Robotnik tended to surround himself with nonsentient allies and warriors, recognizing he could only count on them as support. All of Robotnik's allies capable of thought, ala Crocbot or Snively, hated and plotted against him.
* AdaptationalComicRelief: Not so much of the already comical games Robotnik, but he was still much more clownish than the [=SatAM=] rendition he was primarily based on. He did take on a similar more sinister role as the stories evolved, but still revelled in a silly hammy side more often than his animated counterpart.

** When Lien Da is inevitably detonated with the explosives Eggman implemented into her, he actually surgically repairs her, making her perfectly like her old self. Lien Da questions why he bothered or didn't even reduce her to the same abomination Dimitri was, Eggman answers he enjoys playing the same game with her as Snively.

* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: Eggman has called dibs on being the only one allowed to finish off Sonic, and has even saved him a few times from greater threats, then let him live because either Sonic's not worth killing at the time or because it's crueler to let him live. To a lesser extent, he feels this ways towards the Freedom Fighters and New Mobotropolis, saving them from Mammoth Mogul and Enerjak's attacks so that he could destroy them at a later date.

* FatalFlaw: A mix of both Pride and cowardice. Being a NoRespectGuy, Snively, much like Eggman, thrives on excessively gloating before his enemies and reminding them WhosLaughingNow....so long as he has the upper hand. When he loses control, or even just has the odds risk getting a bit too even, he panics and aborts his schemes. He ''did'' make one final big gamble for Regina before the reboot and defiantly fought Eggman. He paid the price for it.

The original Robotnik briefly came back from being DeaderThanDead when his molecules were put back together by Eggman. Robotnik pretended to seek amnesty with the Freedom Fighters... but they weren't fooled; they destroyed the device used to restore Robotnik, and he disintegrated again during a squabble with Eggman.

Born Julian Kintobor of the House Ivo, Dr. Robotnik was an egotistical yet slightly childish MadScientist and leader of the Eggman Empire, a criminal organization determined to conquer the world. He was a weapon developer for the Overlanders but was arrested because of his inhuman experiences. He escaped imprisonment and defected over to the Mobians' side, eventually rising to the position of Warlord under King Acorn. Robotnik was vital in winning the war and, during peacetime, launched his coup. King Acorn was banished into the Zone of Silence and Robotnik spread his reign of terror and pollution over the land. Only Sonic and the Freedom Fighters stand in his way.

Dr. Robotnik was killed in the ''Endgame'' Arc only for an alternate universe counterpart, Robo Robotnik, to travel to his world to fill the void. The original Dr. Robotnik was designated as Robotnik Prime whilst Robo Robotnik picked up the nickname Dr. Eggman.

Robotnik was killed finally taken out in the ''Endgame'' Arc only for an Arc, which was followed by fifty or so issues of the Freedom Fighters coming to terms with his absence and trying to oust his underlings. An alternate universe counterpart, Robo Robotnik, to Robo-Robotnik, later travel to his Robotnik's world to fill the void. The original Dr. Robotnik was designated as Robotnik Prime whilst Robo Robotnik Robo-Robotnik picked up the nickname Dr. Eggman.

Formerly known as Dr. Robotnik from another timeline. He also failed in his Endgame scheme and, in desperation, he roboticized himself when it became apparent he would lose the war. This interpretation of Eggman actually debuted very early in the comic, all the way back in issue #19: A {{cyborg}} Sonic fled to Sonic's dimension to warn him of "Robo-Robotnik", who had lost his mind and destroyed their Mobius with nuclear weapons rather than let the Freedom Fighters win. His robot shell was blown to bits by an army of Sonics from other worlds, causing him to flee in digitized form to a satellite--which is where he crossed paths with Robotnik when the latter was momentarily stuck between dimensions. A nice little ContinuityNod.

Years later, he escapes to the Prime universe and replaces the then-deceased Dr. Robotnik, assuming control over his dormant robots and taking on the appearance and moniker of Dr. Eggman. This was done to sync up the Archie continuity with the newly-released ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure''; however, much of his past was identical to his comic book counterpart.

A Dr. Robotnik from another timeline. He also failed in his endgame scheme and was forced to roboticize himself becoming Robo-Robotnik but still succeeded in destroying his Mobius with nuclear weapons. He escapes to the Prime universe and replaces the then deceased Dr. Robotnik. Taking on the moniker of Dr. Eggman, he took over as the comic's primary villain, providing Sonic and the Freedom Fighters a new menace. Though he's from an alternate dimension much of his past is identical to the original Dr. Robotnik.

After Eggman unleashed the Genesis Wave and rebooted the comic, his background as Robo-Robotnik has been completely erased. In the new timeline, he was always Dr. Ivo Robotnik and his characterization and demeanor draw much more heavily from the video games.

* CruelMercy: If letting someone live after he's defeated them is far crueler than killing them or sending them to the Egg Grapes, he'll happily do so.
** He let Sonic live after beating him in #175, rubbing it in that Sonic has lost this fight, Eggman captured all of Knothole and it's people in the Egg Grapes and will gleefully drain them of their life force to fuel his city and that Sonic can try all he likes, but no one still living can or will help him oppose Eggman.
** After he beat Snively and the Iron Queen in his Sonic Universe arc, he makes the Iron Queen the sub-boss of the United Federation and imprisons Snively in an Egg Capsule for the rest of his natural life.

Tails Doll is not an Eldritch Abomination, as he is still created by Eggman, making him a machine.

* EldritchAbomination: Sums it up, even moreso than the Krudzu Hydra.

Added DiffLines:

* MechanicalAbomination: There is just something ''off'' about Tails Doll, being created by Eggman as a mockery to Tails. Beyond his already creepy fluffy exterior, a mechanical monster that looks like an otherwordly demon hides inside.

This was actually concerning the original Robotnik, not the second.

* CompositeCharacter: Robotnik combined his depiction in ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfSonicTheHedgehog'' with ''WesternAnimation/SonicSatAM''. His character swung much more towards his ''Sat AM'' counterpart as the comic went on and the CerebusSyndrome started kicking in, though only fully matching it in ''Endgame''.
