* CharacterClassSystem: Each Legend fits into one of four broad classes:
** Offense: The most broad category, their abilities tend to link directly to fighting enemies or utilities to be applied mid-combat, such as Fuse's explosive projectiles, Bangalore's speed boost when she's shot at, and Horizon's enemy-disrupting black hole.
** Defense: These Legends proactively set up defenses to fortify a position (Caustic's gas traps and Wattson's fences), give cover to protect their teammates (Gibraltar's dome shield), or both (Rampart's damage-boosting deployable cover).
** Support: Support characters are best suited to helping their team. Lifeline can heal her allies and revive them with little trouble, while Loba's ultimate allows her team to stockpile loot quickly.
** Recon: These Legends are best suited to gathering information, such as from Bloodhound's enemy-identifying scan, Seer revealing the health and armor of enemies through his tactical, or Pathfinder simply being able to reach high vantage points with his grappling hook. They all have access to the "Recon" perk, allowing them to scan beacons scattered around the map to locate the next ring.

Octane's father and the current CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals... Or so the public believes. His true identity is Octane's ''grand''father Torres, who has used advanced pharmaceutical technology to greatly extend his lifespan and assume his son's identity.

* AbusiveParents: Neglects Octane whenever he isn't placing his lofty expectations on him as the heir to Silva Pharmaceuticals, something implied to feed his AttentionWhore tendencies and push him even further away.
* ArcVillain: Season 9's supplementary comics posted to Twitter reveal that he's behind the terrorist attack in Season 7 and the catastrophic Medusa vines in Season 9. And with Season 12, he's attempting to kickstart his political career by framing Mad Maggie for his wrongdoings.
* TheBadGuyWins: As of Season 12's ending, he's succeeded in assuming control of the Syndicate and has Octane wrapped around his finger as well.
* ConspicuousTrenchCoat: Combined with a fedora, staples of mid-1900s fashion that seem to imply he's old-fashioned (or, at least, old). Perhaps the form-obscuring garb is meant to hide his real identity, as the real Duardo died years ago. The one we see is ''his'' father Torres using his political power to take over the Syndicate.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: The leader of a large pharmaceutical company, and one of the less pleasant [=NPCs=] of the cast.
* CorruptPolitician: He's looking to be more than just the CEO of a pharmaceuticals company, and he doesn't care what he has to do to get there.
* DeadPersonImpersonation: The real Duardo died for unexplained reasons years ago, with Octane's grandfather Torres assuming his identity instead.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Murderous, scheming politician he may be, his dialogue when revealing his true identity to Octane shows that he loved his Duardo and was greatly affected by the fact that his medicine could not save him.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: Wears a pair of emerald-tinted, small-lensed glasses, contrasting against Octane's radioactive green and bulky goggles.
* GracefulLoser: He's downright ''proud'' that Octane was able to uncover Duardo's death certificate, and gives him the whole story behind his father's death without stringing him along or buttering him up.
* HateSink: On top of being an {{Abusive Parent|s}} to Octane, he's also orchestrated numerous terrorist attacks to make the Syndicate look bad just so he can take over, making him an easy character to despise.
* HiddenEyes: They're almost always obscured by the lenses of a pair of green spectacles. In Season 9's supplementary comic, he has a FaceFramedInShadow instead.
* IAmNotYourFather: PlayedWith: the real identity of Duardo isn't actually Octane's father, but instead his grandfather.
* OlderThanTheyLook: He has his own stims that make him look his son's age, despite claiming that he's almost a century old at this point.
* TheSociopath: He has no problem getting people killed to further his political career, and views Octane as merely a means to carry on his legacy as well.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: He's beloved enough by the public that he has many supporters in his bid to overthrow the Syndicate council and claim sole leadership over the galaxy. The Legends, however, know what a sociopathic scumbag he truly is.
* WalkingSpoiler: His entire folder had to be marked with a spoiler warning because otherwise it'd be impossible to hide his true identity.
* WhamLine: When Octane confronts him about impersonating Duardo, he doesn't bother denying anything and gives Octane the whole truth.

A five-time Hyperfighting Federation champion that was originally slated to join the Apex Games in Season 4, only to be assassinated by Revenant due to his connection to Hammond Robotics.

* AssholeVictim: Promotional material built him up as a bit of a cocky showboater, alongside Bangalore revealing that the guy sexually harassed her a few years prior to the Games. This of course was done so not many people would feel bad when Revenant murdered him. In one of her voice lines, Bangalore almost ''thanks'' Revenant for killing him.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Revenant stabs him through the back.
* KilledOffForReal: The only way he could feasibly come back is as a simulacrum, and since Hammond generally only does that to people like Cross or Reid who are too valuable to let die, this is an unlikely scenario.
* OffModel: The scars on his organic arm in ''Up Close and Personal'' are missing. This isn't a case of detail being removed for the short's artstyle however, as his portrayal here also features a scar through his eyebrow that isn't present in his character art.
* TemptingFate: He drops several lines that allude to how Revenant would eventually kill him.

* GallowsHumor: During one animated video, she sees her powerless heart monitor and very casually informs Wattson that it seems that her heart has stopped.

** Raised Caustic as best as she can, attempting to fill his life with love -- though it wasn't enough for his MadScientist path to be put off.
** As the foster parent of a street-wandering child Crypto, she also applies as this to him as well; a framed photograph of them and Alexander Mila is one of his dearest possessions, enough to bother taking with him when he hears the Syndicate knocking at his door.
* ParentsKnowTheirChildren: Instantly identifies Caustic once she sees him in the Apex Games for the first time. Although, knowing what he looked like prior, it's more like seeing through a PaperThinDisguise; [[https://twitter.com/i/status/1411040728680181764 she calls it the "worst disguise [she's] ever seen" and that "he's not even trying".]]

The original Newcastle, who's been trying to get into the games for several seasons. In Season 13, he finally succeeds... Or so it seems. It turns out that Newcastle put himself in debt with the Forgotten Families to fund his equipment, with the town of Harris Valley up as collateral. His numerous failures to get into the games eventually exhausted the patience of his debt collectors, who proceed to murder him and push his debt onto one Lamont Craig.
