The "slave elf" of the title. An albino ostracized by her fellow elves, she refused to protect them when slavers attacked their village. She was being delivered to the mage Marchosias when he died unexpectedly, so she was then auctioned off to Zagan.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Nephy is a kind and gentle girl, but she can turn scary when someone hurts Zagan in front of her.

* SlaveCollar: She wears the slave collar that the Demon King put on her.

* BodyguardCrush: By Volume 6 he starts to fall in love with Chastille.

* ExhaustedEyeBags: His eyes always looks like he hasn't slept in weeks.

An 18-year-old mage (and, later, Archdemon) who inhabits the territory of Kianoides. In his youth, he was kidnapped by the mage Andras to be a HumanSacrifice. At that moment his latent magical ability awakened and he killed the mage, taking his place.

* BreakHisHeartToSaveHim: To Nephy. When he's promoted to fill the empty Archdemon seat, he frees Nephy and sends her away, for fear the other Archdemons would kill her if he didn't.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: Purchasing Nephy was all well and good, but he didn't even consider what he was going to do next, where she was going to live, etc.
* DotingParent: He's this to Foll, wanting to give her a normal childhood that he and Nephy didn't get.
* IOwnThisTown: Kianoides, the town closest to Zagan's castle, is in his domain and well under his total control. Luckily for the every day people, [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Zagan goes from occasionally saving them and suffering their existence to outright considering them under his protection and looking out for the city.]]

* CuteAndPsycho: Regardless of her delicate appearance and position as the LoveInterest, she is just as ruthless as her boyfriend. Maybe more so, since her killcount is higher. [[note]]At the start of the series, Zagan has killed Andras and several bandits who trespassed on his territory. Nephy is responsible for the death of an ''entire'' village.[[/note]]

* GaiasVengeance: Her Celestial mysticism means is that every part of nature in the vicinity tries to kill whatever poor bastard the sorcerer wants it too. Including inanimate vines. ''And baby animals.'' They're all locked into a vicious, merciless HiveMind.

Several chapters later, her master has figured out how to disenchant her ExplosiveLeash, and Nephy is grateful for that, but none of her problems have been solved: she still doesn't have a family or goals or anything she could build a life out of. So in the end she asks him to put the collar back on, and they go home and have dinner.
