— Mario singing to Peach
''Las Estupideces de Mario'" is a quintology of animated parodies of Super Mario Bros. made by mexican Newgrounds user and youtuber Dan Dark.
The animations consist of compilation of shorts where Mario acts like a Jerkass or he's being tortured.
Las Estupideces de Mario contains examples of:
- Adaptational Jerkass:
- Like most parodies at the time, Mario is portrayed as a rude and edgy boy who likes to do clownish things in front of his friends and abusing them..
- Whenever Princess Peach gets enraged by Mario's atitude she shoots him.
- Affectionate Parody: "Another World" from part 3 is a parody of Take on Me by a-ha.
- The Alcoholic: Mario proves to be this in "More Beer for my Head" from part 1.
- Anti-Hero: Despite his jerkass behavior Mario is still heroic.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Mario eats a Mushroom who turns him into a giant in the 1st part and scares the enemies who were surrounding him. Then, he grows even more after eating another mushroom and stomps Luigi (thought accidentally).
- The Chew Toy: Mario is subject of the animations violence in many shorts and to a lesser extent the Toads.
- Demon Head: Mario's head grows when he yells at Peach in the 3rd part when she hits him with her bike.
- Distressed Dude: Luigi in part 4.
- Dirty Coward: In part 4 Mario refuses to save Luigi because of the enormous obstacles he has to overcome. He even gives the middle-finger to Luigi.
- Fourth Wall Psych: At the end of part 4 it seems Mario and Luigi are insulting the audience but in reality they're insulting Mouser.
- Happy Dance: Mario celebrates his victory towards Bowser by dancing Chacarrón by El Chombo much to Peach's annoyance in part 1.
- GIS Syndrome: Some stock objects appear through the series. In part 2 an edited render of Po from Teletubbies appears.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite Princess Peach having serious anger issues she can still be sweet like her original self if people don't annoy her. Also, Mario has some moments where he's actually nice.
- Mushroom Samba: In part 2 Mario and Luigi hallucinate they're in the cosmos after eating a mushroom.
- No Fourth Wall: The characters are aware they appear on videos and in part 2 Mario gets out of the computer to take revenge on Dan Dark for dying constantly.
- Running Gag:
- Mario singing songs to annoy people (especially Princess Peach).
- Princess Peach shooting Mario for annoying her.
- Mario entering to pipes that lead to random places and being attacked in the 1st part.
- Mario and Donkey Kong appearing on the newspaper for hurting Princess Peach in the 5th part.
- Sore Loser: In "Bad Loser" from the 3rd part Mario acts like this.
- Stock Scream: If Mario doesn't scream with his real voice, stock screams are used for his screamings.
- Take That!: Parts 4 and 5 mock politically correct culture.
- At the end of part 4 there's also a mockery towards reuploads.
- They Killed Kenny Again: The characters who are killed are alive for their next appearance.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Mario and Peach are nicer in part 5, thought Mario still has some rude scenes.
- Very Special Episode: The 5th part is dedicated to The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
- Victorious Chorus: Hallelujah plays in the 1st part.
- Wild Teen Party: Mario throws a chaotic party in "Freak Time" from part 1.
