!!Roger Wilcox

Emma's talent agent and the closest person to her outside of her family.

Added DiffLines:

* LargeAndInCharge: He's in charge of getting Emma roles in films and WordOfGod confirms he's 215 cm or ''7 feet'' tall.
* PapaWolf: He was the first real father figure Emma ever had and certainly acts like it. He helped get her out of the ghetto, kept her safe from sleazy Hollywood types while she was growing up and even got in touch with an adoption agency to find her a new family.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure
* SecretKeeper: He knows about many of the problems Emma's kept hidden from the public and has made sure nobody else finds out, though he also encourages her to seek help.
* SmoothTalkingTalentAgent: Thankfully averted. Roger cares far more about Emma's health and happiness than he does making money off her.

!!Hitaru Nijiue

The eldest of the Nijiue siblings and an overall kind, caring person
----
* CoolBigSis: She took on a very motherly role for her siblings, caring for them when they were sick and keeping watch over them when they played games.
* CoveredInScars: [[spoiler: She wears large gloves to cover up the scars left by her parents' preferred act of disciplining her: tying her to a table with piano wire whenever she disobeyed them.]]
* ExtremeDoormat: While she means well, Hitaru unfortunately has little drive to oppose her parents. Not that she doesn't want to, but she feels like it's impossible and doesn't want others to be hurt because of it. [[spoiler: Both Emma and Akemi try to convince her otherwise.]]
* NiceGirl: The Voids are surprised to learn that she's actually a very sweet girl upon first meeting her.
* NiceHat: She wears a green beret.

!!Jiro Nijiue

The second-eldest Nijiue sibling and the only boy.
----
* BizarreTasteInFood: He enjoys meat with mint jelly.
* ExtremeDoormat: Like Hitaru, he's aware of how awful his parents are but apparently has no will to oppose them. He also gets ordered around by Akemi.
* ItsAllMyFault: He feels like a lot of the abuse Iroha endured was his fault, since he was too scared to confront their parents over it.
* MenAreTough: The abuse he endures from his father is based on not living up to his standards of toxic masculinity. Jiro is heavily criticized for not being a true man and for being too emotional and passive.

!!Akemi Nijiue

The second-youngest Nijiue sibling and a fairly smug, arrogant girl.
----
* ArrogantKungFuGuy: She's rather full of herself when it comes to her skills in card games, even when Iroha makes it clear Akemi's never managed to beat her.
* BatmanGambit: She gets Iroha to agree to the ''TabletopGame/YuGiOh'' match by threatening to return her to her parents. [[spoiler: She would never actually do it, but she also knew that Iroha feared going back to their parents far too much to take the risk.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: Akemi doesn't believe respect is something you deserve, but something you earn. [[spoiler: To her, Iroha earned it by running away from home and building a life for herself, while Hitaru and Jiro are happy with just keeping their heads down around their parents.]]
* LargeHam: She's a very dramatic player.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: Both she and Iroha carry around decks of ''TabletopGame/YuGiOh'' cards with them. She also does the same squiggly smile that Iroha does on occasion.
* WellDoneDaughterGirl: She really wants her parents' approval. [[spoiler: Turns out to be subverted, and her speech to Hitaru and Jiro suggests she views them with some level of disdain.]]
* XanatosGambit: [[spoiler: Iroha realizes that their ''Yu-Gi-Oh'' match is essentially this. If Akemi wins, it's the first time she'll ever have beaten Iroha in a card game; if Iroha wins, it's only because she was able to beat strategies specifically designed to counter all her own. Either way though, it'll be proof to their siblings that they ''can'' beat the impossible.]]
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: A tough love example, but she [[spoiler: essentially says this to Hitaru and Jiro, encouraging them to stop being so cowardly.]]

* KidFromTheFuture: [[spoiler: In 2030, he and Tsurugi have a daughter named Asami.]]
* MoralityChain: According to the Crew, he's the only person who's close enough to Tsurugi who can keep his darker tendencies in check. In the original timeline, his death would contribute to Tsurugi becoming a heartless enforcer of the law.
* OfficerAndAGentleman: He lives up to this image more than Tsurugi.

* HappilyMarried: To a woman named Emi, who he met in the hospital following his injury and was one of his biggest sources of support during his recovery. They married after graduation and had three kids together.
* NoIndoorVoice: As Mikan learns firsthand.
* OldFriend: He and Tenmei used to be best friends in Hope's Peak. [[spoiler:They're both super ecstatic to see each other again in the ''Die Free or Live Hard'' Arc]].
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: Not only did he save Kanata from the car crash that killed her parents, but he also attended Class 49 alongside Tenmei and Harumi, who was in the Reserve Course at the time.
* RetiredBadass: Even decades after his retirement, he still has close ties with the Tokyo fire department and sometimes assists them.
* ShipperOnDeck: It's revealed that he was pretty supportive of Tenmei's close relationship with Harumi.

!!Utsuro
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_442cffa7e6fb7f7a491ed2168f2441fc_812afc5c_1280.png]]

The luckiest man alive, whose very existence has helped set many things in motion.
----
* BornLucky: When he was born, he blessed all those around him with Divine Luck, as they were rewarded with good health and his parents won the lottery. According to many, his luck is borderline RealityWarping. Unfortunately, he himself was BlessedWithSuck; while his luck lets him accomplish any task he wants, all he gets are the results. [[VictoryIsBoring He never has to put effort into achieving anything, leaving him horribly bored and apathetic toward life]].
** And worse, this extends to everyone he grants his luck to. It's only temporary and is bound to not just weaken, but ''[[BornUnlucky reverse]]'' at some point. [[spoiler: For people like Maku and Chiaki, whose lives are tied to it, this is a terrifying prospect.]]
* ConnectedAllAlong: Not only is he connected to the Voids and Mikado, but also [[spoiler: Chiaki. Her mother worked in the same hospital he was born in, curing her infertility.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Unfortunately, his parents became greedy and began exploiting Utsuro for their own selfish purposes. It reached the point that, when he refused to cooperate, the family fell apart and Utsuro was left homeless. It doesn't help that he's still hounded by people who try to exploit his luck for their own gain.
* FamedInStory: He and his story are pretty famous, although most think he's just an urban legend.
* TheGhost: He's yet to appear in the story proper, but his presence is greatly felt.
* GoodPowersBadPeople: Divine Luck has been shown to do things like cure illnesses, grant wealth and keep people alive past the point of death. Unfortunately, Utsuro himself is an apathetic, selfish person even before he became a member of Ultimate Despair. See JerkWithAHeartOfJerk.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: Despite blessing random people with his Divine Luck and improving their lives for the better, Utsuro only helped them not out of any sense of kindness or understanding but mainly to cope with his bored existence and to obtain some form of stimulation.
* TheHeavy: Downplayed, since he's not ''really'' an antagonist yet thanks to time travel, but him granting people Divine Luck lead to the formation of Void, the rise of Mikado and even [[spoiler: Chiaki's birth.]]
* IdenticalStranger: To Yuki Maeda. It's because of this uncanny resemblance that Yuki was targeted by the External Agents of Despair and Mikado in the original timeline.
* PowersAsPrograms: Divine Luck, as Sora describes, is a power that can be passed around from one person to another if the holder desires. It went from Utsuro to Akane to her to Yuki in the original timeline.
* WalkingTheEarth: According to the Voids, he wanders Japan, granting Divine Luck to those in need.
