He would face his rival once more during the Battle of the Burning Mill, where he struck down Samwell, only to be in turn killed by Blackwood's sister Black Aly.

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Defeated Samwell Blackwood during both their duels.
* BoomHeadshot: Apparently Alysanne Blackwood shot him in the face shortly after he killed Samwell.
* DuelToTheDeath: Fought and killed Samwell in one of this.
* PyrrhicVictory: While he defeated his Blackwood rival, he was killed immediately afterwards and his house was knocked out of the war shortly afterwards.

Going so far as to help your father by training and then pimping your younger sister out to the same man who cast you aside, mainly just to spite your successor and get some revenge, ''is really pushing it'', darling.

Younger sister of Barba, Bethany was raised to catch the eye of Aegon and become his new mistress in order to replace and spite Melissa Blackwood. She had an affair with Ser Terrence Toyne of the Kingsguard, which resulted in both their deaths.

* {{Expy}}: To Catherine Howard, Henry VIII's fifth wife. Like Bethany, Catherine was pushed into a relationship with a much older king in order to increase her family's influence and standing. Given that Henry at the time was extremely obese, very violent-tempered and suffering rather unpleasent skin ulcers, Catherine (for reasons best known to herself) indulged in a treasonous affair with Thomas Culpepper, a knight in Henry's service and one of the king's favorites, which resulted in their executions when the affair came to light.

* LesCollaborateurs: He was one of the few Riverlords who allied with King Harwyn when he invaded, taking the opportunity to attack the Blackwoods army from behind when they marched against the Ironborn. He then delivered Lady Agnes Blackwood and two of her sons to Harwyn, who executed them.
