* The show's first major guest star was one of the most awesome moments of 80's television--Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill, then serving as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, came by in a ColdOpen AsHimself. O'Neill, as one of the most beloved politicians in the country at the time, immediately gave the show a much-needed boost in the ratings--his presence shot the show to national recognition and helped get it a firm audience. O'Neill himself would later joke that his appearance "may have given them a little boost."

* in ''Cliff's Rocky Moment'' Cliff keeps getting pushed around by a guy who doesn't like his know-it-all tendencies. He challenges Cliff to a fight, and Cliff tries to bluff him by claiming to know karate, which no one believes but Diane. In the end the guy gives Cliff the choice to admit he's a coward and walk away, and he does...only to return to the bar after the man has left with a 2x4 and a brick. He demonstrates what he could have done to the man by kicking through the board with his bare foot, and shattering the brick with his head, impressing everyone. Then he privately admits to Diane that he's never taken a karate lesson in his life and would like a ride to the hospital. Even if he didn't know what he was doing, the mere fact that he didn't smash his skull open and cripple his foot is impressive.

Added DiffLines:

* The final sequence of "The Magnificent Six". Earlier in the episode, Henri challenged Sam to a contest to see who cam get more phone numbers - the experienced American ladies' man or the younger French ladies' man. With one minute to tie before the cut-off time, Sam approaches an attractive woman only for her to shoot him down, saying she just got out of a bad relationship and really isn't in the mood to deal with sleazy come-ons. Sam apologies and backs off. After Henri begins to gloat about winning the contest, the woman approaches Sam. It turns out that her line about just coming off a relationship was a test to see which men were gentleman enough to respect her wishes. She then calls over her two equally attractive roommates and tells them, to their obvious appreciation, that Sam is a proper gentleman AND cute. The episode ends with Sam congratulating Henri on his "victory" and leaving with the three women (whom, we are told, do everything together), as the rest of the bar chants "U-S-A! U-S-A!"

** Adding to it is the reason WHY he got the bar back: Robin Colchord had been using Rebecca in order to get info on her company. When Sam went with her to rat him outto Jim Mongomery, the head of her company. Robin shows up, manipulates Rebecca into dropping the case and smugly shreds the evidence. Sam then finds out Rebecca is about to take the fall for everything and tells Jim the truth, which leads to Robin getting arrested.. and gets the bar as a reward for his selfless efforts.
