After the unexpected success of the original ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' and its subsequent revisions and console ports, Capcom decided to produce [[TheAnimeOfTheGame a feature-length anime movie]] based on the series. The movie, simply titled ''Street Fighter II Movie'' in Japan and later released internationally as ''Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie'', was first announced in 1993 at the same time as ''Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers'' (the fourth version of the game) began distribution in the arcades. It was released theatrically on August 8, 1994.

* MartialArtsUniform: It's ''Street Fighter'', so all relevant characters wear one:
** Ryu wears his traditional white dogi for the entirety of the film. Ken's is red, but he's only seen wearing it in flashbacks and during the final battle against Bison.
** Cammy is dressed in her Delta Red attire when she assassinates the British Minister of Justice, Albert Sellers, near the beginning of the film.
** All four agents of Shadowlaw wear their respective combat attire.

They're the first thing you see at the start of said shower scene, again when she finally steps out of the shower, another when she slumps against the couch after Vega kicks her, again when she steps on his chest (then his face), another when he places his feet against hers and pushes her back toward the rafters.

** In this movie, Cammy assassinates British Minister of Justice Albert Sellers with an attack where she vaults herself upside down on top of his neck, twists it to the point where it breaks and she's able to turn him around a full 180 degrees, then proceeds to slam him down hard into the ground while kicking his knees forward, breaking both them and snapping his spine in the process, killing and leaving him in a grotesque crab lock. This move would finally make its way to the games in ''VideoGame/StreetFighter6'', nearly 19 years later, as her Level 2 Super.
