* In ''Fanfic/PersonaTheSougawaFiles'', [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Yuudai Honda]] is a businessman working for the biggest crime lord in the city [[spoiler:who wants to turn everyone into mindless husks]], yet he's always friendly and rarely actively malicious. It helps that he has a genuine desire to see the city improve.

* [[spoiler:First Quarter]] in ''Fanfic/ManehattansLoneGuardian'' legitimately remembers and cares for all of the children they've ever had throughout their long life, endorses a crush that one of their elites has on their personal butler for grins and giggles, holds jovial conversations with their underlings, and is an outright BenevolentBoss. None of this hides the facts that she manipulated her elites into joining her inner circle to start with, steals the bodies of other ponies to keep living whenever their current shell dies of illness or age, and is fixated on destroying Leviathan and ousting Celestia from power.

* In ''Fanfic/WalkAMileinAnothers Shoes'', a ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' fanfic, All for One frequently gives Izuku gifts, takes him out for dinner, and offers suggestions on how to improve his quirk while trying to convert him into a villain.

** Damascus is THE original Nightmare and doesn't like anyone, to the point that she has actually threatened to EAT Noble Scarlet. However, she becomes fiercely loyal to Jago and though him Lamb, Lind and the others; willing to risk her own life to save them. Plus she likes Jammy Dodgers.

* In [[Fanfic/DownfallBleach Downfall]], most of the villains are motivated by truly noble intents. Of course, any fic that has [[spoiler: Unohana, Ukitake, and Kyoraku]] working to overthrow the Seireitei...it's a given. Bonus points for making [[spoiler: Aizen, Gin, and Tousen]] the ''good'' guys. ''Realistically.'' By the time the reader's done, they want Seireitei burnt to the ground...

* In ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2172417/1/False-Smiles False Smiles]],'' the Scoobies manage to stop Mayor Wilkins' ascension by first finding out exactly what he needs to do and when he needs to do it in order to ascend in the first place, and then stopping him from meeting all the requirements. At the end of the story, the Mayor, who is still technically invincible and immortal, actually ''congratulates'' the Scoobies on a job well done, and thanks for being such fine upstanding examples of young people taking an interest in the safety of the community. He also remarks that he'll just wait around until his next chance to turn into a gigantic man-eating snake demon. In the mean time, he tells them, he's going to concentrate on civic improvement and keeping the "bad elements" out of Sunnydale.

* ''Fanfic/ChildOfTheStorm'' has Baron Zemo, who is perfectly calm and polite at all times, will [[CombatCompliment take the time to genuinely compliment]] a WorthyOpponent on their stratagem/skills, and the most impolite he ever gets is mildly [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]]. He's also a ruthless SocialDarwinist who believes entirely in HYDRA's agenda of placing 'the strong' above 'the weak', as well as being both utterly merciless and beyond deadly in close quarters combat.
** Alexander Pierce fits this perfectly, being perfectly friendly towards Lucius in their meeting, later charming Harry and [[EvilDetectingDog Freki and Geri]], and promising, once Harry mentions that Nick Fury (a close friend of his mother) hasn't dropped by for a visit, or even sent a message, to arrange for one, ordering it if necessary. In other words, he acts like a kindly grandfather. He also puts Lucius on edge (since both are aware that the other will dispose of them [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness as soon as they are no longer necessary]]), stealthily manipulates Harry into emotional turmoil so he can discreetly get a reading on his powers, and doesn't even bat an eyelid when Lucius mentions that he plans to kill Harry, merely remarking that it's mildly regrettable, since he rather liked him.
** Sinister tends to speak in a CreepyMonotone, and regards humanity and other species as his personal petri dish. However, he's also usually polite, and almost never raises his voice... until [[spoiler: Maddie]] breaks his control. [[VillainousBreakdown Then he loses it a bit.]]

* ''Fanfic/ChildrenOfAnElderGod'': Nyarlathotep is polite, congenial and charismatic... even when he is readying to obliterate your soul. When [[spoiler:Asuka and Touji are fighting him and even swearing at him,]] he remains non-offended and even amused.

** Thorax, Pharynx, and Ocellus, despite their mother Chrysalis being FauxAffablyEvil incarnate, are all shown to be surprisingly well adjusted and civil Arrancar who never go out their way to act like assholes to others.

* In ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11188292/1/Deal-with-a-Devil Deal with a Devil]]'' the slaver who capture Literature/HarryPotter is openly and honestly friendly to Harry. Unlike most examples, this only serves to make him more horrific in Harry's mind; the man sells children into slavery and treats it like it's just another job. His only saving grace is that [[EvenEvilHasStandards he's clearly uncomfortable that some of them are likely to be sex slaves]]; not uncomfortable enough to stop selling children into slavery though.

* ''Fanfic/DanceWithTheDemons'': Ra's Al Ghul may be a monster who intends to wipe out ninety per cent of the world's population, but his manners are impeccable. He's unfailingly polite and respectful at all times.

* [[spoiler: Chaos]] from the ''FanFic/TamersForeverSeries'' isn't actually ''evil'' but still, for a ten billion year old avatar of destruction and disorder, it's remarkable just how ''normal'' he seems.

** Nightmare is a ruthless, vicious and sadistic {{demon lord|sAndArchdevils}} who relishes in torturing damned souls and preying on humanity's fears and black truths that they dread. While any politeness he normally displays is initially false, but when a human he confronted proves themselves to be genuinely worthy of his respect, he will display genuine cordiality and respect in turn; such is the case with Mike Schmidt. [[spoiler:And after Mike was able to impress him with gruesome ColdBloodedTorture he performed on William Afton, especially given how dedicated Mike normally is to following the path of good, Nightmare was so impressed that he bestowed upon Mike an infernal blessing that would allow him to counter William Afton in case the murderer would ever return back, and gave him warrior's salute, the closest he displays to acknowledging someone as an equal, and even gave Mike ways to easily access him in case of need.]]

** Quirrell and Voldemort sing, dance, pick up girls and watch ''Film/ShesAllThat'' in between plotting to murder Harry. Oh, and one of Voldemort's Horcruxes is [[spoiler: a Creator/ZacEfron poster]].

* ''Fanfic/LePapillonRising'' has Adrien as Papillon... but also as Adrien. He's not easy to hate.
* Nathaniel from ''Fanfic/MiraculousTalesOfScarletBeetleAndIkatiBlack'' remains polite and friendly as the supervillain Monarch, always kind to his Kwaami Nooroo and often akumatizing those that had faced injustice. Of course, [[BewareTheNiceOnes harming his friends and classmates is a good way to get on his badside]].

* Played for laughs, in the short FanFic series ''FanFic/EvilBelle''. Sweetie tries to sell her soul to a demon for a new demonic form, only for said demon to turn out to be a really mellow guy. Who is not even interested in her offer, and tries to explain that neither of them, really have much to gain from this. Only for Sweetie to keep pestering him, until he reluctantly agrees.

* ''Fanfic/BeyondTheWall'': The villagers are kind, friendly, peaceful ponies...[[spoiler:as long as you're not from outside the wall, for which you will be executed without hesitation, because Gaea doesn't love you. And if you're a villager and try to go outside the wall, you will be executed without hesitation, so that your body remains in the village forever and Gaea still loves you]].

* In ''Fanfic/AGrowingAffection'' Doraku explains to a captured Naruto, Hinata, Sakura and Lee that A) He is a demon. B)He enslaves people and [[OurVampiresAreDifferent steals people's abilities by drinking their blood]] C) He isn't a vampire D) Would they mind telling him about the world's current situation over dinner?

* In ''Fanfic/GenderConfusion'', it's difficult to distinguish who the bad guys really are until one of them actually goes out and commit a canon atrocity... and then you still need to remind yourself that, yes, they were the ones in the wrong.

* Elias Dreschner from ''Fanfic/{{Kintsukuroi}}'' is always polite with his secretary, appreciates fine tea and likes to listen to classical music while performing horrifying experiments on captured mutants. Before doing this, however, he makes a point of introducing himself to them and [[WellIntentionedExtremist explaining why their sacrifice is necessary]] to further [[CureForCancer medical research]].

** [[BigBad Oblivion's Shadow]] also has shades of this. He's fairly notable as being the most polite, well-mannered and reserved person in the entire series. He's fairly comparable to Deoxys from Latias' Journey, except [[spoiler: that he has shades of being a WellIntentionedExtremist.]]
** Barbedo is unusually for this trope, not an antagonist; he was the most vicious and monstrous pirate to ever live, and he got worse after he and his crew were [[CursedWithAwesome cursed with immortality]]. To everybody's surprise, Barbedo's friendly enough to Team Aurabolt when they meet him, [[spoiler: handing over the Star Badge animating him without any fuss, agrees to a fight for his ship and takes his defeat to Tiny in a drinking contest with good humor.]] He's unapologetically brutal and loves being the worst sort of pirate, but his friendly demeanor and fondness for his [[TrueCompanions crewmates]] make him likable in spite of that.

** When not engaging in violence, many of the White Fang's soldiers are quite amicable towards each other. It's hard not to fall into this when [[AxCrazy Adam]] [[PersonAsVerb is a standard]].

** Emerald herself is friendly and chatty with the Beacon students, and dislikes Mercury’s {{jerkass}} attitude towards them and others.
** Neo lacks her smugness and sadism from canon, and allows Weiss and Blake to pass when Yang offers to fight in their place on the train during the Breach.

* Queen Beryl is this in ''Fanfic/BeautifulDestroyerSailorMoon''. The first time we see her, she's messing with a tablet PC dressed like it's Casual Friday at the office, talking about running the Dark Kingdom like it's a business conglomerate. She's not even very disagreeable about how Jadeite's operation in Japan has been royally screwed over so much. Immediately after her meeting with Jadeite she remembers she hasn't had sex in forever, then decides to go out for the night and get laid after prodding her Youma court for a bit of encouragement.

* In ''Fanfic/BlackWingsBlackSails'', William Laurence comes to be known as the "Gentleman Pirate", thanks to his respectable clothes and rumors that he's the son of some noble. Less-well-known is the fact that he's unfailingly polite at all times, even when he calmly slits a slaver's throat- the same slaver from ''Empire of Ivory'' who would have gone on to [[spoiler:sue Laurence for £10,000 in canon for cutting his slaves loose]] -which serves only to make him all the more terrifying.

* Nora and Ren [[AdaptationalVillainy become Salem's loyal followers]] in ''FanFic/AuntSalem''. They are still their hyperactive and stoically respectful selves respectively, but they are perfectly prepared to commit any atrocity to defend the Cult of Salem.

This is best exemplified during [[spoiler:his attack on Hawaii]], where he politely takes tea with and speaks courteously to Sasuke and Rei, even while [[spoiler:his ghost familiars are destroying the city, and he even fully admits that he's only keeping Sasuke and Rei around until they bore him.]]
