Sure thing! Give me several million years of trial and error and a place with no other life and primordial environmental conditions, and I\\\'ll get right back to you on the \\\"self-perpetuating without intervention\\\" thing. Give me another three billion and I can even get you multicellular life.

Also, your point with the \\\"be fruitful and multiply means evolution is bupkis\\\" thing? That isn\\\'t reasoning, its dogma. Why bother raising the point, if it has no chance of altering evidence-and-reasoning based thinking, and nothing we say can change the dogma?

Also, the point isn\\\'t just that everything makes a lot of babies; the planet cannot support infinite increasing that would come with every generated offspring surviving; insects and fish make them en masse, after all, and usually only two or three at best survive. The point is that the babies best able to make the greatest number of THEIR OWN babies are the ones whose genes are perpetuated. Maybe God made it that way, but the process exists. The old adage about \\\"science tells us how, religion tells us why\\\" might apply here, as is the principle of keeping them separate.

As for the car thing? Give me a car with a fuel capacity as immense as the timescales involved, and I WILL drive it ridiculously far. Evolution doesn\\\'t NEED to \\\"stop to fill up\\\" until everything that lives is dead and it needs to start the gene pool gas tank over.
