If she had died, then I\'d be all for putting the trope on the page but she didn\'t and lots of other characters came just as close to dying (or in Turpin\'s case, did die) making her situation far from unique. She was part of the main cast and a police officer to boot, you\'d be crazy to think that they weren\'t going to play the terribly wounded card somewhere down the line.
