Let me begin by saying that it's never a good sign to me when someone actually uses tropes in their argument in a discussion page. Too often, that tells me that the person is taking the tropes too seriously, or that they have specific opinions ABOUT those tropes. In your specific case, you've done a lot of self-interpretation in the majority of the edits on the Overwatch pages. You're the one who continuously added tropes which painted Jack Morrison as some sort of wide-eyed idealist idiot.

Second, do NOT use terms like \"you can\'t expect\" when discussing what\'s being troped. Everyone has different opinions, and not everyone is going to come to the same conclusion as you. Also, you are making a lot of assumptions about characters whose motives are not thoroughly explained in the story.

So no, to me, you are NOT coming across as level-headed. You\'re coming across as someone who takes troping \'\'way too seriously\'\' and has a lot of personal FanWank and beliefs that are carrying over into how you trope things. You \'\'especially\'\' don\'t sound level-headed, when your first sentence is attacking another troper and calling them \"indignant\".

All that being SAID, however, I think you\'re correct. The example for Hanzo is grasping at a lot of straws. Even the snippet they copy-pasted says that the character must be such an annoying character that you wonder why anyone even associates with them. Hanzo has \'\'flaws\'\', but to call him a \"jerkass\" is blowing it up too much.
