We gotta talk about the Iron Giant and its implications, now that its moving and called for "Joyboy." Namely, why did it stir now, but not when Luffy was fighting Lucci? (Unless it did and I forgot?) Also gotta wonder if it did while he was fighting Kaido - is there a proximity it needs to be in to Joyboy to wake?
And the implications of it attacking Marijois 200 years ago. Does that mean that our assumptions about Luffy being the first to awaken the Gum-Gum Fruit since the Void Century is wrong? If so, then the complaints about "chosen one" is even more bunk, because that would mean that at least 2 prior "Joyboy"s have failed. If Luffy is still the first since the Void Century - what else can wake up the Iron Giant?

New episode!
CP 0 enter Egghead! Atlas gets gravely injured by Lucci! And Luffy and Lucci encounter after all this time!
Next episode is Gear 5! And Lucci's awakening!
Due to unfortunate events, i will continue to exist until further notice.The anime did a good job of making Lucci's Six King Pistol on Atlas feel sudden and jarring while actually drawing it out to fill time. Next episode is gonna pop the hell off though. And hey, Kizaru is wearing his black-and-yellow suit this arc, good.
Let's hope the anime can keep the awesome momentum with Gear 5 going. They never missed during its debut, but now the real test is seeing how well they keep it up.
I don't want to be that guy, but I'm not a fan of how light skinned the Seraphim are in the anime. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Find the Light in the DarkI like that it varies, that they don't have the exact same shade of skin. I do think S-Snake's should've been a bit darker, though.
Shanks as one of the Five Elders.
The "Shanks the Rat" memes are so funny. I'm going to be pretty sad when it's inevitably revealed that it was actually Shanks' secret brother who was snitching to the Five Elders.

For the last 3 years, One Piece Bounty Rush has been adding a ridiculous April Fools character. Those being Gaimon, Kung-Fu Dugong, and the most recent one for this year, Demaro Black.

Hmm, they went with the Poetic Edda instead of Japanese folklore for this joke.
Disgusted, but not surprisedTook them long enough to put the protagonist in the game.
Here's a detail I totally missed, apparently Reiju and Ichiji hide their right eyes because that eyebrow swirls to the right, the opposite direction of the eyebrow we see. You can see it a few times in various angles that their hidden eyebrow stops at their nose, and doesn't spiral up.
The video games corroborate this, Reiju and Ichiji's models in video games consistently have both eyebrows spiraling up at the ends, while Niji and Yonji's eyebrows spiral up toward the left and Sanji's eyebrows both spiral toward the right.

I love the SBS answers, you get interesting insights like this:
I like the handle "27-year old who admires Shakky." Same, fellow person, same!
Even if this is partly joking, I do kind of like the idea that day-to-day on the ship, the Straw Hats use their skills and expertise to help each other in mundane ways. Even Luffy was depicted (at least in the anime, not sure if all of these instances are just filler) as helping with fishing.
Any age is good to stan Shakky.

I knew it wasn't likely, but was kind of hoping the longer gap between volume releases this time was because it would release on Crunchyroll simultaneously. Oh well.
Was re-reading that interview from a couple years ago with Oda and Gosho Aoyama, the writer of Detective Conan. And seeing this bit amused me cosidering what's happening now.
New episode 1110 dropped!
Stellar animation with Lucci and Luffy fighting! Cool stills! Vegapunk talks about his theory with Devil fruits! And Sentomaru appears to be punched.
Next episode is a recap on CP9!
Due to unfortunate events, i will continue to exist until further notice.Damn, they cooked with the animation this episode. And with a break week, next episode should wrap up the Luffy vs Lucci rematch in spectacular fashion.
Its a good week for Gear 5. Another awesome new anime appearance, and in a couple days the English dub releases Gear 5's first episodes.
Honestly though, along with Gear 5, I'm actually really excited for Nami's emotional moment staring down Kaido. Luci Christian doesn't miss, so I'm sure her scenes will be spectacular.
I stand by that Usopp and Nami's respective speeches to Kin'emon and Kaido make up for their Tobi Roppo fight not being as straightforward as the others were. And they pay off the emotional moment near the start of their fight. Usopp mentally tells Nami to lie and survive at all costs, then he gives a speech to Kin'emon and Kiku about how he always tries to survive at all costs and he thinks samurai fatalism is stupid. Nami tells Ulti that she has faith that Luffy will never stop until he becomes Pirate King, then she tells off Kaido for claiming to have killed Luffy.
Those speeches are important points for Usopp and Nami in Onigashima, and I think they should be factored in when talking about their relative performance, not just focusing on Big Mom hijacking the Ulti and Page One fight.
Oh yeah, I do really like what the anime did with Usopp's moment as well. It didn't register with me as much in the manga, but it made an impression when the anime got to it.
So once again, after a long lull on my part, the best panels of One Piece, marking the climax of the Arlong arc.
Chapter 92; Luffy is now serious;
Chapter 93: "Luffy...thank you."
Chapter 94: The other evil asshole gets what's coming to him;
Chapter 95: The first of many bittersweet departures:

I dont think its up to the scripwriters, especially if its such a visual scene. I think you meant the animators. And while their tendency to "Upgrade" scenes can be a bit annoying, I still prefer that to just throw the scene without any flourish to translate it better in a visual medium or any vision of their own. Making visual changes to make things flow better in the new medium is VITAL
