Well, at least all the Straw Hats are here.
That sounds like a great thing!

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upThough what flashback can they reuse a hundred times in every scene like with Rebecca & Thunder Soldier?
Thatβs the question.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."This has the benefit of piggybacking off the build-up from the arcs before, including Dressrosa.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireEhi, that's the anime, don't blame the manga
I think we already have one: Tama who happily eats the food, this last one chapter started the trend
Actually, I think the Onigashima Arc can almost be considered its own arc, kinda like Enies Lobby does (though it's technically part of the huge Water 7 arc but hey, everyone could read that 100+ chapters arc in a single day and not complain about pacing )

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upOooh man, this arc is fucking bloated.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Ah, pacing issues. One Piece's cross to bear.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAt this point its not even an arc, its a saga.
Like the Cell Saga or the Arrancar Saga.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The longest arc of the series is still Water 7, which was 120 chapters long. The current arc is only at 79 chapters so far, plenty of time left before it surpasses Water 7. To put into perspective, by this point in Water 7, the Straw Hats were only just about to start fighting CP9, 79 was the chapter where Fukuro explained that the Straw Hats had to fight the members of CP9 for their handcuff keys.
Mmmh I think things will go on a bit longer than 40 chapters. Now everyone will be playing Hide and Seeks with Yamato, and there might be some fights, then we will have all of the fights for the Straw Hats, the Akazaya 8, Law and Kid (don't think the others will get a proper fight), as well as Kaido's flashback
I also wonder, now that we're close to the 1000 chapter what will happen in that one, usually Oda reserves important moments in "00" chapters
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI think the pacing has picked up quite a bit in the last few chapters actually. Three chapters ago we were still making plans and now and everyone is running around Onigashima already and Luffy's even inside the castle.

I find it kinda amusing that Kanjuro doesnt actually know how to get to Orochi. Would be even funnier if he ends up being killed by Kaidou's men but that'd be too anticlimactic.
Secret SignatureWhich I still think was a bit of a forced way to make tye SHs fight the CP9, but the fights were great so I can't complain.
Well, now we have the Tobi Roppo looking for Yamato which could very easily lead into the same thing.
I thought Dressrosa was the longest arc to date.
I know because I literally finished College in the time it took to finish.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. When I started college, Zoro had just defeated Ryuma in the manga.
When I ended college, Queen Otohime was assassinated, and Reverie was announced.
A lot happened in that intervening 4 years, including all of Impel Down, the Straw Hat Separation, and the Whitebeard War, which were the reasons I got back into this series.
In the 9 years since, they've finished on Fishman Island, had Punk Hazard, Zou, Dressrosa, and now Wano. But it feels like more should've happened? Maybe it's because all those arcs bled into each other.
Also, it took that 9 years to get Jinbe from "presumptive next crew member" to "actual next crew member".
I recently rewatched some of the scenes where Robin and Franky met up after the crew separation. I'd completely forgotten that Kuma watched over their ship that entire time. That sacrifice, and the crew's debt to him pointing them in the direction to get stronger, really should be mentioned more.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyNope, Water 7/Enies Lobby is the longest. In order of length, from shortest to longest:
- Loguetown: 5 chapters
- Reverse Mountain: 5 chapters
- Return to Sabaody: 5 chapters
- Levely: 6 chapters
- Romance Dawn (Alvida + Morgan): 7 chapters
- Whisky Peak: 9 chapters
- Amazon Lily: 11 chapters
- Orange Town (Buggy): 14 chapters
- Little Garden: 15 chapters
- Post-Marineford: 17 chapters
- Jaya: 19 chapters
- Long Ring Long Land: 19 chapters
- Syrup Village (Kuro): 20 chapters
- Zou: 23 chapters
- Sabaody: 24 chapters
- Drum Island: 25 chapters
- Impel Down: 25 chapters
- Baratie: 27 chapters
- Arlong Park: 27 chapters
- Marineford: 31 chapters
- Punk Hazard: 46 chapters
- Thriller Bark: 48 chapters
- Fishman Island: 51 chapters
- Alabasta: 63 chapters
- Skypiea: 66 chapters
- Whole Cake Island: 78 chapters
- Dressrosa: 102 chapters
- Water 7/Enies Lobby: 120 chapters
Wano is currently only 71 chapters long, I forgot about the Levely mini-arc when I first mentioned it. By this point in Enies Lobby, Robin met Saul in her flashback.

Interesting how Dressrosa & Whole Cake commonly get complaints of Arc Fatigue yet Ennies Lobby doesn't get as much of that.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think it's just that people weren't following along with One Piece's manga week-to-week back when Enies Lobby was happening. The thing that really struck me is that both Alabasta and Skypiea are MUCH longer than Fishman Island and Punk Hazard, which are more around Thriller Bark in terms of length. It's just that a week-to-week schedule makes everything seem stretched out when the pacing is fine.
Also, Impel Down and Marineford are hella short.

And while the "Robin Arcs" are the longest pre-timeskip, the post timeskip arcs just keep getting longer and longer, and more concurrent.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI think it's just that they're more concurrent. It's not that they're getting longer, it's just that the long arcs are back-to-back with very few short arcs in-between. The only short arcs post-timeskip are Return to Sabaody, Zou, and Levely.
If you're going to put Ennies Lobby and Water 7 together (which I think you should) you really should include Post-Marineford as part of Marineford.
is OP on break this week?
Secret Signature
Ah the second coming of Dressrosa.
