Sweet Jebus! Not just the Great International Vaccine Conspiracy, but zombies pushing vaccines.

If I were an anti-vaxer (I'm not), or even someone with reservations about taking a booster (again, not I), I would feel insulted and angry to have Tats claiming to represent my positions. Whatever Tats' reasons are* for opposing vaccinations, they aren't good ones if he has to resort to bullshit allegories like this one.

sad thing is, he got a good idea and claimed it was bad. What do I mean? Well, an ex-colleague of mine is a die-hard no-vax, but she's also an ABSOLUTE glutton (she's also quite fat, to nobody's surprise)... Chocolate and strawberry vaccines would bring her to the vax side faster than the Flash.

I don't think we have anyone who can meet the full requirements over here. One of the problems is what Tats is shilling changes every few months. It's kind of hard to keep track even if you read the webcomic and the associated anti-fan forums daily

Best I can think of it's some kind of personal art diary where his opinions are slowly "evolving" over time; with the occasional mental train crash

There are always people who are willing to have other people die for ideas, but never themselves.

So, his subconscious will function in a manner that it will always protect itself. In some regards, in his mind, we are proving him right when we mock him for his stance or when he is made fun of on the Sinfest Reddit. Notice he always displays the "thumbs down", the ostracizing by peers, etc. This is the backfire effect, which essentially further entrenches him in his worldview. So how does one overcome the backfire effect? No persuading can really occur. It seems that only a strong and utter betrayal or some insurmountable proof can really pull someone out of that type of denial. Take Celina, for example. She peeled off, after defending Tatsuya for so long because to not acknowledge her protestations was an utter betrayal.

So how would Tatsuya be betrayed? Whoever he is listening to in terms of ideology has to be dethroned or utterly humiliated in some way.

For all the negative sentiment regarding vaccines and their "mandatory" nature in the US, I think this is the first openly anti vax comic that Tatsuya has made. Up until now, it has all been complaining that defying consensus leads to social consequence (which Tatsuya seems to believe he deserves absolute immunity to), but this is flatly pushing the idea that the vaccine is fundamentally harmful to get under any circumstance, even if you choose it of your own volition.

And Tats chose a truly stupid allegory as a way to push that idea:

• Theo is what, nine years old? A minor can't and shouldn't be allowed to make medical decisions.

• Miko didn't explain to Theo (or to readers) why taking the vaccine was a bad idea. She just commanded "NO" and literally pulled him away.

• Miko is what, nine years old? Other than the fact that she's female and therefore infallible, what the hell does she know about the subject?
