Does this book exist?

I need help finding a children's book I remember reading when I was in elementary school, which was 20 years ago. The story is about a animals going to this cave to learn a magic word so they can bring food to their valley, but they can't remember it. I think it's probably based on African folklore, but I can't find it anywhere. I tried many forums before coming here with no luck. Does anyone know its name?
