A thread to discuss Lindsay Ellis’ Michael Bay’s "Arrival" and its sequels.
It starts with Cora Sabino, a college dropout working a shitty job and trying to deal with her fatherless family − the father in question being too busy leaking classified government documents about the existence of aliens. One day, those aliens come to Earth, Cora meets one of them… and then it gets weird.
A really fun read overall, although the expo-dumpy middle portion is a bit more sluggish to get through. The last third of the book more than compensates though.
