As for Anakin's immediate fall...it's not that odd. He's still being driven by the same motivation he had beforehand — a selfish desire to keep Padme. Beforehand he still thought there was a way he could have his cake and eat it too by taking Palpatine captive and forcing him to give the secret to save Padme. Mace Windu's attempt to slay Palpatine then and there forced Anakin's hand (and took away Windu's). At that point, in Anakin's mind there was no going back.
Then again, we don't actually know for certain if Plagueis had actually figured it out or if Palpatine was just lying.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAnakin's position in ROTS was made especially odd in TCW, because he was a Master. He had a padawan, he was a General in the Army (padawans were just Commanders), the whole thing. He didn't have a seat on the Council, but I don't think a reason was given as to why.
You know, TCW made Anakin a really likeable character. And then you remembered that he had previously massacred a population of Tuskens for revenge.
Speaking of Light/Dark powers and how "the Light Side" is officially a thing now, what about that Force Tranquilizer thing that Kylo Ren did in Episode VII? Where he can just harmlessly cause people to pass out?
Can Jedi do that, or is that another Dark Side-exclusive power?

Knights are called "master" by their apprentices and outsiders, too.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.I think after Maceβs death Anakin kinda snapped.
Like after the whole thing he is just crouched on the floor obviously horrified by what heβs done. So I guess his extreme turn is him fully accepting that this is his lot in life now after fully crossing the line.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Seemed like some forceful(heh) upgrade to the mind trick to me. Probably Dark Side though, putting people to sleep is too easy for the good guys.

Secret SignatureForce Sleep is one of those powers that isn't exclusive to Light or Dark Side users. Qui-Gon used it on Jar Jar.

Disgusted, but not surprisedOh, good.
People should use that more. That seems super useful.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.In the current canon, the only established Force powers that are exclusive to either side are becoming Force Spirits and Force Healing for the Light Side and Force Lightning and Force Choke for the Dark Side.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, you're not entirely wrong, but I imagine Obi-Wan got a special fast track from Padawan to Master-on-the-Council thanks to the whole "first person in Yoda's 900 year old living memory to bisect a Sith" thing. Probably gives quite a bit of leverage when it comes time for internal politics.
Especially IIRC Master status traditionally requires training a Padawan to Knighthood, yet Obi-Wan had it before Aot C when Ani was still a Padawan. Although that requirement might actually be Legends only, not sure.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyAnd it arguably didn't work out that well. It's pretty clear that Obi-Wan wasn't totally prepared for the promotion and sudden responsibility, especially since he still had his own grief over Qui-Gon's death. Obi-Wan outright tells Anakin that he had failed him during their fateful duel.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAlso apparently training a padawan to full knighthood earns you a promotion to master and Anakin was a knight towards the end of the Clone Wars .
Probably another reason why he was so pissed about the council's treatment of Ahsoka.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Though he was more talented at various subjects compared to Anakin's basically war focused skillset.
Secret SignatureTrue but if you want to convince people the Sith don't exist it is a lot easier to do that when you don't have an entire organization of red lightsaber-wielding murderers running around
Despite his hasty promotion, Obi-Wan was pretty good as a Master. He just wasn't necessarily the right mentor for Anakin. And even then, they grew to trust each other enough that Palpatine only puts his scheme into high gear once Obi-Wan is on another planet entirely. He probably figured out that Obi-Wan would be able to stop Anakin from falling to the Dark Side when he saw Anakin refuse to abandon Obi-Wan after the battle with Dooku.

Disgusted, but not surprisedHonestly what happened with Ahsoka probably made it a double slap in the face to him, and colored his thoughts going into their Rebels confrontation. He did train her to Knighthood, they even waved the Trials for her (even if that bit was blatant we-fucked-up-ass-kissing on Mace's part); she made the independent decision to walk away instead. For them to then turn around and act as if none of that happened honestly is outright insulting. And then towards Ahsoka, well, she walked away and in doing so cost him both one of his greatest desires and what he later came to believe he needed to save Padme.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyAhsoka also did the thing he couldn't - walk away.
Obi-Wan would have left the order for love in an instant, had he known earlier, Ahsoka decided to not come back after the order essentially threw her under the bus.
Meanwhile, Anakin had to have it both way, trying to become a master while also being married.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.I kinda forgot, was Anakin aware of the whole "Chosen One" thing?
Secret SignatureYes, but at least until the Mortis arc he was always somewhat skeptical about the whole thing .
Edited by DrunkenNordmann on Feb 9th 2020 at 7:45:06 PM
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. It's not like there's necessarily a stigma attached to Jedi who leave the Order either. Dooku was still highly respected after leaving the Order, to the point that some of his old colleagues couldn't believe he had fallen.
The fact that the Jedi Order chose to memorialize the Lost Twenty Masters indicates that the Order seems to blame themselves for said Masters being disillusioned with them.
Edited by M84 on Feb 10th 2020 at 2:48:37 AM
Disgusted, but not surprisedI imagine Anakin might not even be aware that's an option. Doesn't exactly have much knowledge of the world besides slavery, Jedi, Padme and war.
Secret SignatureNow remember Yoda said he is too old when Anakin was brought to the council. Meaning he wasn't supposed to have even that much experience as per Jedi customs, only a Jedi training.
In Yoda's defense, Anakin's experiences with slavery, Padme, and war all led to his fall.

"I imagine Force Heal is one of those things that are light side only and Siths using it end up exploding or something?"
In Canon at least, it seems to be what Plaegus had learned to do
Things are really about to get Fun around here
