"The Mind" is a card game which I played for the first time recently. Players are dealt cards numbered from 1 to 100, and have to put them down in order, without communicating. When I played it, runs of consecutive and near-consecutive numbers seemed to be fairly common. If four players have a starting hand of four cards each, what is the probability that there is a run of at least three consecutive numbers? (Hand size starts at one each, and increases by one each round).
