Ambition is Evil has a misleading name. The name implies that all ambition is Evil. While I will admit, villains are often shown to be the most ambitious it doesn't entirely justify the naming of the trope.
A better name for the trope would be Evil Ambition
This would also open up for related tropes like one for the "good" characters. I've been calling the counter to the evil version "Heroic Ambition"
I'm sure there are more ambition based tropes that could be out there as well.
